We are offering 2 young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to volunteer with the Portuguese Red Cross in Braga, Portugal. Next placement dates are planned for: 5th January - end of August 2026.

You will be working on a range of projects, which will give you the chance to explore the different kinds of social action that the Portuguese Red Cross undertake in Braga. 

Typical tasks may involve:

• Supporting the charity shop, Ponto Vermelho, with social media, sorting donations and organising the displays.
• Supporting in the Youth Centre for the Roma Community – organising and delivering activities, helping with homework.
• Supporting in the Foster Care for Unaccompanied Minor Refugees.
• Supporting the Social Kindergarten.
• Assisting with projects which help the homeless and the elderly.
• Assisting in the writing of project proposals and funding bids.

These are fully funded placements, with return flights, accommodation and health insurance covered - volunteers receive a small monthly stipend for living expenses.

We are keen to hear from individuals especially those who do not normally get the chance to volunteer overseas, who are passionate and motivated about working in the humanitarian sector and international volunteering but who also understand that these types of placements require adaptability and resilience. ZAKKI is a social startup focusing on creating an inclusive community for the elderly and people with disabilities. Our mission is to facilitate alms and donations collection and distribution to help the elderly and people with disabilities who work in the informal sector to get better livelihood through micro-business management, giving them greater market exposure.

We are still redesigning ZAKKI fully function product. We are expecting to develop the ZAKKI fully function product in the upcoming years.

About A Little Bit of Sunshine

As this role is new, you will have the opportunity to shape it. We’re looking for someone who can work well in a team and engage young people in conversations about mental health, wellbeing and building strong relationships

About the Project

We’re launching Finding Your Sunshine, a co-produced workshop project looking to create wellbeing resources for young people. It brings together young people aged 15-19 and student facilitators who have recently left education in a near peer model designed to build trust, share experiences and co-produce tools for young people.

Through a series of interactive workshops, young people will be supported to explore what mental health means to them by reflecting on their own experiences and working togethter to design a toolkit that can be used by young people in the community. These tools are created with young people and will be rooted in real experience.

Purpose of the role

As a Facilitator you will support the co-designing and delivery of our pilot project Finding Your Sunshine. This project is a series of workshops that help young people aged 15-19 to explore mental health, build wellbeing toolkits and connect with relatable and 1 supportive peers. We will support facilitators with training in how to deliver a workshop, safeguarding, youth mental health and encouraging voice and participation.

We are looking for around 7-8 volunteers for this project. We ask that facilitators are available to attend meetings to explore content for the workshops and can deliver at least three workshops in their time with us.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with facilitators on the project, the project lead and other ALBOS staff to design a two-part mental health and wellbeing workshop series
• Contribute ideas, feedback and lived experience perspectives during group discussions and reflections
• Support in creating a wellbeing toolkit that young people can access after workshops
• Deliver engaging and youth friendly workshops giving young people a basic education of mental health, wellbeing and early recognition of struggles
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and confidentiality
• Share lived experience to improve resources

Bath Area Play Project are passionate about every child's right to play and enabling children to thrive. We are looking for a Chair of our small Trustee Board to support our vision and ethos, enabling the continuation of our support services for children and families, leading strategic oversight and ensuring we are resilient for change.

Our volunteer Trustees meet early evening, every 6 - 8 weeks, alternating in person in Bath and online. They are responsible for ensuring we are compliant with operational management delegated to the Director and other staff, allowing them to focus on governance and strategic decision making. Trustees support the staff to be the most effective they can be in their various roles through good knowledge and understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks.

Perhaps you have or are involved at a senior level in a Charity, have skills such as Marketing, Business or Early Years which can be used to help BAPP develop services for children and families.

BAPP provide a range of services including an Ofsted registered Nursery & Pre-school, Ofsted registered Holiday Playschemes for disabled children and those with additional needs, Children & Family Support, Alternative Provision for children with SEND and our long standing Community based Family Playdays. As we work with vulnerable children, Trustees are required to have an Enhanced DBS and to register as one of our Trustees as part of our Ofsted registration. There are 8 Trustee Meetings each year, alternating in person in Bath and online which includes our AGM. The Prout Bridge Project offers youth, mental-health and community services. It was set up by the community in 2016 in response to cuts in youth and family provision. The scope of our work has evolved in response to our community’s needs through the Covid pandemic and cost-of-living crisis.

We operate from the town of Beaminster in West Dorset, supporting a wider area of villages and towns covering parts of Dorset, Somerset and Devon.

Our aim is to support children, young people and adults to participate, thrive and connect as part of an inclusive and resilient community. 

Multiple essential services are housed under one roof including:

• Safe and supportive youth clubs where our young people can thrive, in sports, music, art, outdoor and other activities. 
• Experienced youth worker mental health support in schools and one-to-one sessions for young people who are struggling + outreach in the town, skatepark and surrounding villages
• A community hub, bringing people together in local social, sports and craft groups + a baby and parent group, providing a safe warm space, and giving easy access to advice services.

We are excited to be launching our first-ever volunteer led Armed Forces Community project in the North West and are now recruiting for a bank of volunteers across the region to help us reach veterans who are in need of support to enhance their wellbeing and quality of life.

If you are a veteran, or family member with experience of military life and are free to volunteer and give something back in your community, we would love to hear from you. You may have had personal experience of being medically discharged or since leaving the Armed Forces have found it difficult to transition to civvy street and want to help others to have a better experience. You may already have a reasonable understanding of what is available or lacking in your neighbourhood for veterans in your community. Our Volunteer Ambassadors will report into our experienced Volunteer Coordinator and will work remotely in their community, helping veterans by signposting them to organisations and charities that can help improve their circumstances.

Roles are on a voluntary basis and therefore unpaid. A car is essential and any business mileage or meeting costs will be reimbursed. A mobile phone will also be provided with training in Safeguarding and Confidentiality/Data Protection, Professional Boundaries and Lone Working. Applications are initially open to those living in Lancashire and particularly Chorley, Preston or Wigan. However, we also welcome interest further afield from those living in Liverpool/Merseyside or Cumbria.

As a Fundraising Trustee, you'll play a key role in shaping and supporting Let's Play Project's fundraising vision and strategy. Working with the charity manager and fellow trustees you'll help us build sustainable income streams to support our mission.
