West Midlands Heritage Trust, along with its three partner project trusts, is seeking to appoint a new Trustee Treasurer to its board. This is an exciting opportunity to help guide our work in rescuing, restoring, and finding sustainable new uses for historic buildings in our region.

Who are we?

We are four building preservation trusts all based in the West Midlands, working together to share our knowledge and experience to save Historic Buildings at Risk.

West Midlands Heritage is made up of: West Midlands Historic Buildings Trust, Worcestershire Building Preservation Trust, and Wolverhampton Heritage Trust.

We aim to safeguard buildings of historical and/or architectural importance, within the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Warwickshire which are in danger of being lost. Our previous projects range in age and type from a 16th Century farmhouse to a Georgian townhouse and a Victorian Cemetery Chapel. 

As well as projects to protect and rescue historic buildings, the Trusts organise a range of activities and events to encourage and involve our members and local communities, as well as contribute to professional development within the sector.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a volunteer Trustee Treasurer with an interest in saving historic buildings at risk and contributing to their local community.

The Treasurer plays a key role in supporting the financial governance of the Trusts and helping to ensure their long-term sustainability. Working with fellow Trustees and staff, including a Finance Officer, the Treasurer will oversee financial reporting, budgeting and financial controls, and provide advice on financial matters affecting the organisation.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in:

• Finance, accountancy or bookkeeping
• Financial management of charities, businesses, or within the public sector
• Strategic financial planning
• Risk management or governance

A recognised accounting qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

It is not necessary to have previous trustee experience, as support and guidance will be given.

What the role entails

• Attendance at up to SIX evening meetings of The Council of Management per year, plus the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
• Attendance at finance sub-committee meetings.
• Optional attendance at other meetings and site visits within the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
• Preparation of financial reports for the Council of Management and the AGM
• Responsible for overseeing Finance Officer role and activities
• Oversight of Trust bank accounts and authorisation of payments, monthly, with Finance Officer
• Oversight of Restricted Fund Management, with Finance Officer
• Liaison with the Trust’s appointed accountants (book-keeping) and auditors, with Finance Officer

Trustees are elected for a 3-year term of office, and may offer themselves for re-election thereafter. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

We are keen to make the role of Trustee Treasurer accessible to all and will endeavour to make necessary arrangements for individuals unable to attend in person, including the use of online meeting platforms.

Fancy combining a Saturday kick-about with actually changing someone's week? We're looking for volunteers to help kick off Route to Roots, a new football and lunch club for asylum-seeking men in Bethnal Green. You'll help welcome people, grab the pizzas, chat over lunch and join in the football if you fancy it – but no skill or sports required, just a friendly face.

Globe Community Project is a grassroots charity working in Tower Hamlets, one of London's most diverse boroughs, for over 20 years. Our mission is to transform loneliness into connection among isolated people and under-served groups. Whoever we're working with, we want to create spaces of joy, friendship and belonging. Our two established programmes, Well Old and Touching Safe Ground, support older people and refugee women and their children. Route to Roots is a brand new project for men who've recently arrived in the UK seeking sanctuary.

About Route to Roots

We’re looking for volunteers of any gender to support this new football and lunch project for male sanctuary seekers in Bethnal Green. We'll bring together 12–14 men each Saturday for an informal kick-about, followed by lunch together. The aim is simply to create a welcoming space where people can connect, build community and enjoy some time together.

What you'll be doing

Your job is to welcome participants to the venue and help create a warm, relaxed space. One lucky person gets to collect the pizzas from a local restaurant. Volunteers will also be chatting with people over lunch, and giving people chance to practice their English. You can join in the football - if you fancy it! No footballing skills or sports action required though - just a friendly face and a bit of time to give.

Who we're looking for

Do you have experience in the fashion industry, are excited by 'blank sheet of paper' opportunities, and have some time you can give back to help an amazing cause? PINT Giving are looking for a Fashion Project Lead to lead the launch of a new fashion brand for good! 

Our volunteer Fashion Project Lead will be responsible for helping to shape and coordinate the launch of PINT’s new fashion brand, bringing together ideas, people and activity across design, branding, marketing and sales. This is an exciting new project as part of generating income for PINT, as well as developing a product that will genuinely help those living on the street. Some preparation work for the brand has already taken place by other volunteers (market/brand research and logo design), so you aren’t starting completely from scratch!

We are looking for volunteers with knowledge, experience or strong interest in fashion, clothing, branding or creative project development. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who can help turn ideas into a clear plan, coordinate activity across a small team and keep the project moving forward. We are looking for someone who can bring creativity, energy and initiative to help build the project from the ground up and make sure the brand reflects PINT’s mission and impact. The PINT Syndicate, under the PINT brand umbrella, will be a new collective/band producing and performing original songs. The vision is for this new group to write, produce, record and perform their own original songs. We are building a founding team to work together to establish the band, including working with our volunteer HR manager to recruit all roles required including songwriters, producers, band members and singers. 

Our Project Lead will be responsible for shaping and coordinate the launch of the band – identifying what needs to be done and who else needs to be involved to make this idea a reality. This is a new volunteer role, so we are looking for someone who can bring their knowledge of the music industry, their network and their project management experience to help develop ideas into clear, practical plans.

We are looking for volunteers with experience managing projects within, or connected to, the music industry. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who understand how to coordinate activity across artists, venues, promoters, labels, production teams or creative partners, and understand how the music industry works. We're seeking a trustee with experience in arts, culture, philanthropy or charity governance to complete the board of a new international arts charity supporting emerging artists. As a trustee you'll play an essential role in shaping the early direction of ellipse art projects UK and helping us open new opportunities for emerging artists from Southeast Asia, Africa, in the UK.

This year, we're launching our UK charity alongside our existing French endowment fund, submitting our registration to the Charity Commission, and preparing our first major partnership with a cultural non profit organisation in London. The board will lead these foundational decisions. For this reason, we're looking for a trustee with experience in UK charity governance, ideally in the arts or culture sector. We are looking to build a team of warm, reliable and compassionate volunteers to support our Friday Mums project, which provides a welcoming space for mothers and babies during the first year of motherhood at The Bridge. At each Friday session, we are looking to have two volunteers to give their time alongside a session lead from our staff team.

Friday Mums is a free weekly group for new mums (and pregnant women) to connect, feel supported and spend time with others who understand this stage of life. Unlike many baby groups, Friday Mums is designed to support mums as people, not just parents. 

The Bridge is a women’s health and wellbeing charity based in Southwark working to create inclusive and welcoming spaces for women of all identities to connect and thrive for over 90 years. The Beacon Project is a community-focused programme providing confidential advice, connection, and learning opportunities for residents in the World’s End area. Through weekly coffee mornings, group sessions, and a befriending service that matches individuals with friendly Connectors for regular meet-ups, Beacon helps reduce isolation and build meaningful local relationships. We also offer free, practical support on issues such as benefits and housing, helping people understand their options and access the advice they need. The programme is delivered as a partnership between Family Friends and Nucleus Legal Advice Centre.

About the Role 

As our Community Engagement and Support Volunteer, you will be the first friendly face people meet. This role is perfect for someone approachable, confident, community-minded, and who enjoys connecting with others. You will help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where residents feel comfortable accessing support and getting involved in community activities. 

What You Will Be Doing

As a volunteer, you will welcome residents and help them feel comfortable accessing the project and its services. You will spend time speaking with local people to raise awareness of the Beacon Project, encourage participation, and build positive relationships within the community. The role will involve supporting community events, coffee mornings, and other outreach activities. Using active listening skills, you'll build trust with residents, take the time to understand their needs, and help connect them with the right support where appropriate. Volunteers will also be encouraged to share their ideas and creativity, helping us develop new ways to engage residents and make the project as welcoming and accessible as possible. You will assist with promoting the service through community events, coffee mornings, leaflets, and our social media channels.

Our volunteers support residents from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. While most residents speak English, many community members speak other languages, including Arabic, Spanish and French. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, and additional language skills are an advantage, but are not essential.

What you’ll do

• Lead the Sustainability Strategy
• Develop and implement a practical, forward-looking sustainability strategy aligned with Project Yananai’s mission and international operations, ensuring health, safety and environmental considerations are integrated across our programmes.
• Build strong HSE frameworks
• Develop and establish effective policies, procedures and protocols covering health, safety and environmental management, helping create a consistent approach across our global operations.
• Influence and collaborate globally
• Work closely with international teams, local communities, partners and stakeholders to understand sustainability challenges, identify risks and develop solutions that are practical, culturally appropriate and capable of creating lasting impact.
• Build a culture of sustainability
• Design and deliver engaging training and awareness initiatives for staff and volunteers, helping embed sustainability, health and safety into everyday decision-making and organisational culture.
• Measure impact and drive improvement
• Develop appropriate measures to monitor the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, using data and insight to identify opportunities for improvement and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Champion sustainability externally
• Represent Project Yananai on sustainability matters and help develop relationships with relevant governmental, non-governmental and other organisations to strengthen our expertise, partnerships and impact.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines professional expertise with a genuine desire to create positive change.

You will ideally bring:

• 3+ years’ experience in sustainability management, health and safety, environmental management or a related field.
• Experience developing and implementing sustainability, HSE or environmental strategies.
• Strong understanding of relevant policies, standards, risk management and compliance.
• The ability to translate strategy into practical policies, processes and measurable outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The confidence to work across cultures, countries and different organisational environments.
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the ability to influence without relying solely on formal authority.
• A genuine commitment to social impact, environmental responsibility and community empowerment.
• Experience within the charity, non-profit or international development sector would be advantageous, but it is not essential.

Project Yananai is seeking ambitious, proactive and results-driven Fundraisers to join our growing global Advancement team. We're looking for people who can identify opportunities, build strong relationships and convert them into sustainable funding that enables our programmes to create lasting social impact.

Working alongside our Chief Advancement Officer and Deputy Chief Advancement Officer, you'll play a key role in securing the funding needed to expand our work across India, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This role is offered on a Commission-Based Agreement, rewarding individuals for the funding they successfully secure.

Key Responsibilities

·Research and identify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, institutional donors, corporate partners and philanthropic organisations.

·Build and maintain relationships with prospective funders, partners and supporters.

·Develop compelling grant applications, funding proposals and sponsorship opportunities.

·Generate new fundraising leads through networking, outreach and relationship building.

·Manage funding opportunities from initial prospect through to successful award.

·Work collaboratively with programme teams to develop high-quality funding proposals.

·Maintain an active pipeline of funding opportunities using our CRM and AI-powered fundraising platform.

·Represent Project Yananai professionally with donors, corporate partners and external stakeholders.

·Contribute ideas and initiatives that help grow Project Yananai's fundraising capability.

·Support donor stewardship and help build long-term funding relationships.

About You

·You may come from a charity fundraising, business development, partnerships, sales, account management, corporate relationship management or marketing background.

·A proven ability to generate income, win new business, secure funding or develop strategic partnerships.

·Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

·A proactive, self-motivated and target-driven approach.
