Reports to: Programs Director 

Position Summary

Wekume is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Program Officer to serve as the primary technical support to the Programs Director. While the Programs Director provides the strategic vision, leadership, and core ideas for the organization, the Program Officer is responsible for the technical formalization of these concepts.
The ideal candidate will excel at "putting ideas on paper"—transforming high-level strategies into structured program documents, logical frameworks, grant proposals, and analytical reports. You will be the bridge between visionary strategy and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Design & Documentation (The "Technical Architect")

• Concept Formalization: Translate the Programs Director’s strategies and verbal ideas into formal project concept notes and full-scale program documents.
• Framework Development: Design Logical Frameworks (LogFrames), Theories of Change, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for all upcoming initiatives.
• Proposal Writing: Assist in drafting and refining technical proposals for donors, ensuring all organizational "missing gaps" in documentation are filled professionally.
• Standardization: Create templates and standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for program implementation.

2. Analytical Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

• Indicator Design: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with the Director’s goals to measure program success accurately.
• Data Analysis: Analyze field data and project outcomes to provide the Director with actionable insights and "the story behind the numbers."
• Technical Reporting: Produce sophisticated monthly, quarterly, and annual impact reports that meet international donor standards.

3. Operational Planning & Budgeting

• Operationalizing Strategy: Convert broad annual plans into detailed monthly/weekly execution plans for field teams.
• Technical Budgeting: Collaborate with the Director to align program activities with cost-effective budgets, ensuring financial projections match project logic.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure all drafted programs adhere to local statutory requirements and specific donor compliance mandates.

4. Strategic Support & Coordination

• Briefing the Director: Regularly brief the Programs Director on project health, identifying potential bottlenecks before they occur.
• Team Technical Lead: Act as a resource for Project Officers and volunteers, providing them with the "paperwork" and structures they need to succeed in the field.
• Stakeholder Synthesis: Prepare presentation decks and briefing papers for the Director to use in high-level stakeholder and donor meetings.

Required Qualifications & Specialty Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Writing Excellence: Exceptional ability to write professional program documents, including the ability to visualize data and concepts.
• Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in M&E frameworks and the ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel (for budgeting/data), and project management tools (e.g., MS Project).
• Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in a role that required significant "behind-the-scenes" program design or grant writing.

Key Responsibilities:

Exit Procedures & Offboarding

• Manage end-to-end exit processes for resignations, retirements, and contract conclusions, ensuring a respectful and consistent experience.
• Conduct exit interviews (virtually), document feedback, and share insights with the Talent Advisory team to identify trends and improve retention.
• Collaborate with Legal, IT, and managers to ensure the timely return of equipment and access revocation.

HR Records & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records (digital and physical), including contracts, right-to-work documents, and visa expiry dates.
• Prepare audit-ready documentation for internal and external compliance reviews (e.g., GDPR, ISO standards).
• Track and renew right-to-work checks, visas, and other legal requirements, flagging expiries proactively.

Administrative Support

• Assist the Talent Advisory team with administrative tasks, including drafting ER case correspondence, updating HRIS data, and generating reports.
• Manage HR system updates (e.g., employee status changes, promotions) and ensure data integrity across platforms.
• Coordinate team calendars, meetings, and training sessions to optimise workflows in a remote setting.

Data Protection & Security

• Serve as the first point of contact for data protection queries, ensuring compliance with GDPR and company policies.
• Train employees and managers on the secure handling of sensitive HR information in a remote work environment.
• Monitor access permissions to HR systems and escalate potential breaches to the Manager: Talent Advisory.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1+ years in HR administration, data management, or a similar role. Exposure to remote work environments is a plus.
• Skills:
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Workday), Google Products, and virtual collaboration tools.
• Strong written communication skills for drafting policies, reports, and employee correspondence.
• Knowledge:
• Understanding of GDPR, UK right-to-work requirements, and fundamental employment law.
• Familiarity with D&I principles and their application to HR processes.

Make a Lasting Impact on Animal Welfare

Margaret Green Animal Rescue (MGAR) is Dorset’s oldest and largest animal welfare charity, with rescue and rehoming centres across Dorset and Devon. • Strengthen MGAR’s long‑term financial resilience by guiding the development of diverse, sustainable income streams and ensuring fundraising decisions are strategic, evidence‑based, and aligned with organisational priorities.
• Elevate MGAR’s public profile through sharper messaging, stronger brand visibility, and more impactful storytelling that deepens public understanding of the charity’s mission and increases supporter engagement.
• Grow and nurture MGAR’s supporter community by  ensuring we shape emotionally resonant campaigns, improve donor journeys, and help build long‑term relationships with individuals, partners, and local businesses.

Role Purpose

The Head of Marketing sits between Directors and Managers, turning high-level creative and communication objectives into clear, deliverable department plans. You will own the direction, structure, and delivery control of both the Graphic Design and PR functions to ensure pace, reliability, and professional excellence across all internal and external outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrated Strategic Planning: Turning Director objectives (e.g., PDP marketing packs, QMC branding, podcast promotion) into practical departmental plans with synchronized design and PR timelines.

• Manager Leadership: Coaching Graphic Design and PR Managers to run projects effectively, ensuring 100% work visibility in MeisterTask.

As a maintenance (handyman) volunteer at SeeAbility, you will support the facility in maintaining a safe, functional, and pleasant environment for people we support and our teams.

This position requires a reliable, skilled, and proactive individual who can carry out general maintenance tasks and assist with small repairs around the property. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being of the people we support and ensure that the home remains a comfortable and secure place for all.

Skills Required 

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to the building and facilities, including but not limited to:  carpentry, painting, decorating and repairing

• Assist with the installation of furniture, fixtures, or equipment, ensuring they meet safety standards.

• Ensure that all tools and materials are properly maintained and stored safely.

• Help identify potential maintenance issues before they become problems.

• Report more complex repairs or safety concerns to the Facility Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.

• Support the care home during renovation or redecoration projects.

• Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to ensure the upkeep of the home.

• Would not be asked to carry out and electrical or plumping works

• Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring all tasks are completed with care and in compliance with regulations
