2026/27 is a pivotal time for the Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) charity. Marking its 23rd year of operation, MHF is now moving beyond its founding 657 mission set in March 2003, to a new mission. Exciting times! A key Board appointment, the Treasurer will maintain an overview of MHF's financial affairs, ensuring continued sustainability.

What will you be doing?

We're looking for that special person to be a part of a small and friendly team that can help contribute to MHF's future continued mission and vision.

Our existing Treasurer is also MHF's Interim Chair. As a high achiever, the need for a standalone Treasurer is required to ease the pressure. MHF’s Treasurer will work with the charity’s long-standing chartered accountancy firm and external book-keeping partner, in addition to being supported by the Interim-Chair and the CEO.

What are we looking for?

• Time to dedicate to the role of Treasurer. Excellent communicator with good listening & interpersonal skills
• Professional or relevant finance & business-related experience and knowledge and/or the ability to demonstrate the necessary financial skills needed to support MHF's professional interests
• The intellectual capacity to grasp issues outside personal experience and the ability to contribute to high level strategy development

What difference will you make?

As someone with financial skills, you can help ensure MHF's board can understand & review the charity's financial position with greater confidence. Following an away-day last year, several new missions were developed as MHF is now within touching distance of realising its original 657 mission set in March 2003, some 23 years ago. We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join us every Tuesday from 9:30am to 12:30pm to support our vibrant daytime activity sessions for people with a learning disability at Mencap. Every Tuesday brings something new: you could be getting involved in gardening, arts and crafts, cooking and so much more. As a volunteer, you’ll help set up activities, chat with attendees, encourage people to take part and create a warm welcoming atmosphere. If you enjoy meeting new people, trying new things and making a positive difference, we’d love to hear from you!

You don’t have to have experience in any or all of the sessions we run, just willing to keep an open mind and a friendly attitude.

As a weekly activity support volunteer, you will need to provide us with two references and a DBS. By volunteering with us you will be helping local people with a learning disability have fun, learn new skills through activities, and you will be making a huge difference!

Be part of an unforgettable day of adventure, achievement and community spirit at Slieve Donard. We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support and cheer on participants taking part in the Slieve Donard Trek a fully guided 11km hike climbing 840 metres over 5–8 hours.

Our participants will push themselves all the way to the summit of Northern Ireland’s highest mountain and we are asking you to help support us on the day.

Your role will include either helping set up and wish walkers good luck as they head off on their journey on the morning slot Or welcoming trekkers back down the mountain, congratulating them on their incredible achievement and helping to create a warm, supportive and uplifting atmosphere at the finish area in the afternoon slot.

Do you enjoy public speaking? Do you want to share the message of who Mencap are, what we do and bust some myths to groups and corporates around learning disabilities? If the answer is yes, then our Mencap Volunteer Speaker role could be for you!

We’re looking for confident public speakers to represent Mencap by delivering Lunch and Learn talks. You’ll be fully supported with training, guidance, and a prepared presentation and script. In this role, you’ll deliver engaging sessions either in person or virtually via Teams, reaching a wide range of groups and organisations.

Frequently you'll be co-delivering these talks with people with a learning disability, so you'll hear first hand their stories and the impact you'll make.

For this role you will need access to your own laptop.

We want to spread the message of who Mencap are and the amazing work we do, so as well as attending lunch and learns requested by our current corporates, we're looking for volunteers who will as part of the role, proactively; research, reach out and contact local groups (e.g: Rotary Clubs, Women's Institutes) and share our lunch and learn presentation with them.

The role also gives you the opportunity to attend cheque presentations and act as a representative for Mencap at supporter’s fundraising activities.

Join the small, diverse and friendly team of an independent advocacy charity in Lewisham as Trustee. Lewisham Speaking Up is a rights-based organisation that speaks up for independence and power for people with learning disabilities and/or autism. You will contribute to the governance of a grass roots local charity with a great track record. There will be opportunities to meet with beneficiaries and learn about their lives. You will be helping to address the discrimination and inequalities faced by adults with learning disabilities.

We all work together towards our vision for a society where people with learning disabilities are listened to, recognised, respected and included in all decisions about their lives. We are looking for trustees who are committed to helping the organisation achieve this. Our beneficiaries are included at all levels of the organisation from being Board members to being paid staff, volunteers and participating in all our services.

A Trustee must be willing to offer scrutiny, assistance and advice to support the charity's operations, stability, and growth.  You will work with other board members and the charity’s Director in achieving this.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a friendly, patient, and non-judgemental person with an interest in disability rights and equality who is passionate about and committed to the organisation's mission, vision, and values.

Some of our board members have a learning disability (known as experts by experience) and we expect all board members to support and give positive encouragement to our board members with learning disabilities. We need trustees who will show commitment to the charity's vision and mission and are willing to understand the issues affecting the people we work with. Experience or knowledge of people with learning disabilities would be useful but is not essential. Previous charity experience or knowledge would be useful but is not essential. 

We require a trustee with at least 3 years' proven experience and skills in one or more of the areas listed below:

• Human Resources (HR) - processes, policies and recruitment
• Media/Digital - support website, social media, communications
• Legal - support with the charity's legal obligations
• Management – project/programme management and coaching/mentoring

Say Aphasia is launching a brand new support group in Bromsgrove and we are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate volunteers to help run it.

About the Group

Aphasia is a communication disability, usually caused by a stroke or brain injury, that affects a person's ability to speak, read, write, and understand language.

The Say Aphasia Bromsgrove Group provides a safe, welcoming, and relaxed environment where people with aphasia can meet others, practise their communication skills, rebuild confidence, and reduce the isolation that can often accompany aphasia. It is a vital lifeline for our members.

Role Purpose

To create content for AuDHD UK’s social media platforms by planning, creating, and sharing engaging content that raises awareness, fosters community, and supports the charity’s mission.

What will you be doing?

Content Creation 

• Design and produce creative, accessible social media posts, including graphics, videos, and written content.
• Schedule and publish posts across platforms such as Instagram, Threads, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
• Ensure consistency in branding, tone and messaging across all social media platforms. 

Planning 

• Help to maintain and update  a social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.
• Research social media trends, audience interests, and relevant topics to inform content.
• Stay up to date with platform algorithms and best practices. 

Additional Duties

• Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Lead and other teams to align social media with broader campaigns and events.
• Stay informed about social media best practices and platform updates.
• Support the development of an inclusive and welcoming online community.

Epilepsy Action is a national charity with a bold vision: to create a world without limits for people with epilepsy. In 2024 we launched an ambitious new strategy to grow our income and extend the support we offer. Purpose of the Role 

The role of a trustee is to share the Board’s collective responsibility for the effective governance and leadership of the charity, setting our strategic direction and major policies in accordance with our objectives, vision, mission and values.

Epilepsy Action (registered as the British Epilepsy Association) is both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. As such, trustees are both charity trustees and company directors and have the statutory and legal duties which these roles impose.

This is a voluntary (unpaid) role with a three-year term of office, renewable for up to two consecutive terms.

You need to be able to commit approximately 6–12 days per year, including: 

• Four Board meetings per annum, plus meeting preparation 

• Subcommittee meetings (if applicable) 

• Strategy days, training, and occasional events 

Meetings are a combination of hybrid and fully remote, with an annual in-person meeting in September in Leeds. Overnight accommodation will be booked for trustees and travelling expenses reimbursed for in–person meetings.

We are looking for volunteers to help to create some backdrops (that fold down small please, storage is an issue!) that we can use at our events and interactive workshops. Our workshop and safe bubble is all about creating an imaginative world and we want to make the experience as immersive as possible for families. We have already created a magical world called Bubble World and now we want to bring it to life.

We are looking for volunteers to help with our social media. We want to massively improve and increase our content from TikTok to You Tube. So much goes into social media from the physical filming and scripts to making the small everyday promotional posts to bigger videos, editing and posting them. We need people to help with every aspect of social media  But don’t panic we are not asking one person to do all of this! So keep reading....

Who are we looking for?

• Somebody who is fun loving
• Be creative. Content creation is all about being creative.
• Knowledge or willingness to research algorithms and social media trends.
• Willing to learn or has knowledge of editing and posting videos
• Enjoy building online community
• No previous experience is necessary but a willingness to learn is essential.

Part of the fabric of Buttons & Bubbles that wherever possible people who volunteer and work with us have lived experience of disability and or illness, (including parents, carers, siblings and friends) This includes our board members.
