About this key role 

As a Peer Volunteer, you will increase client engagement with drug and alcohol treatment services by providing vital peer-led support and building trust and motivation among a client group that has been historically disengaged/not offered support previously.You will provide holistic, short-term intervention to bridge the gap between referral and full treatment engagement, capture client experiences and barriers to improve service design and accessibility and develop a strong service user voice to inform future service improvements. 

Areas of support from Peer Volunteers may also include initial engagement and motivation such as welcome calls, check-ins, peer-led conversations and motivational chats over coffee.You may also offer practical support such as appointment reminders, transport assistance and paperwork support, plus help to build positive routines such as activity-based engagement and supporting small lifestyle changes, including meal planning, budgeting, and time management. 

What we are looking for 

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system or lived experience of the issues facing this client group (i.e. experience of substance misuse and recovery) 

• Proven experience of working in a high-intensity environment, being self-motivating, with an ability to effectively manage your own wellbeing 

• Knowledge of the issues facing those arrested for potential criminal offences 

• Knowledge of, and commitment to, safeguarding practices and policies 

• The ability to use monitoring systems to record all aspects of the work 

• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.

KLS is looking for a Treasurer Trustee to bring financial insight, sound judgement and strategic challenge to our Board. What You’ll Do

• Guide Board-level understanding of KLS’s finances, risks and long-term sustainability.

• Experience in finance, accountancy, audit, risk, grant management, charity finance, trusteeship or the voluntary and community sector.

• Understanding of charity finance, including monitoring restricted funds, reviewing management accounts, supporting reserves policy, preparing for audit or independent examination, and helping trustees understand financial risks.

• A professional accountancy qualification is welcome but not essential if you have broader financial leadership or governance experience. 

• Previous trustee experience is desirable but not essential.

Fort Amherst Heritage Trust cares for Fort Amherst in Chatham, Kent, preserving an important historic site and making it available for the benefit, enjoyment and education of the wider community. The Trust relies heavily on volunteers to help maintain, restore, interpret and promote the site for present and future generations.

Role Purpose

Trustees are collectively responsible for the governance, strategic direction and long-term sustainability of Fort Amherst Heritage Trust. As a Trustee, you will help ensure that the charity fulfils its charitable purposes, complies with its legal duties and makes decisions in the best interests of the Trust and the communities it serves.

Key Responsibilities

· Work with fellow Trustees to set and review the Trust’s vision, strategy and priorities.

· Ensure the Trust carries out its charitable purposes for the public benefit.

· Oversee the responsible management of the Trust’s finances, assets, buildings, grounds and collections.

· Support good governance by complying with the Trust’s governing document, charity law and relevant regulations.

· Monitor risks, policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding, finance, data protection and volunteer management.

· Contribute to discussions and decisions at Board meetings, reading papers in advance and offering constructive challenge and support.

· Act as an ambassador for Fort Amherst, promoting its heritage, community value and volunteer-led work.

· Support fundraising, partnership development and community engagement where appropriate.

Skills and Experience

We welcome applications from people with a commitment to heritage, community benefit and good governance. Previous trustee experience is helpful but not essential. The Trust is particularly interested in people who can bring one or more of the following areas of experience:

Volunteers are needed to assist in the sorting and pricing of goods donated to our charity shop. As well as keeping the shop tidy, rotating stock on a regular basis and serving our clients who use the shop.

There are a variety of activities available, and where we can, we will try to tailor the opportunity around you. We are open Monday to Saturday (9am - 5pm) with various times available to volunteer.

About the Role

Helping people in crisis begins at your local charity shop!

Here at the Women & Families Resource Centre, our team is bright and bubbly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life.

We want to make sure everyone that visits us has a great experience, and we never forget the contribution our little shop makes to helping those in crisis.

You will work closely with the Shop Manager, shop staff and volunteers, acting as the first point of contact for the shop in relation to matters of stock generation, stock transfer, collection and disposal.

OPERATIONAL TASKS

Typical tasks may include:

Receiving donations, registering and storing them safely.

Lifting, moving and sorting items according to guidelines.

Identifying items suitable for sale and recycling.

Checking item quality.

Active promotion of the charity and what we do.

Preparing items for distribution to our service users.

Accounting for International Development is seeking an experienced charity finance professional to support a UK-registered charity working internationally to strengthen responsible, low-impact small-scale fisheries.

The organisation works with coastal communities, fishery stakeholders and market actors to improve fisheries practices, support responsible sourcing, strengthen policy engagement and contribute to better livelihoods and food security.

They are now looking for a remote volunteer to review and strengthen their finance systems, reporting routines and use of Xero. Some finance processes, reporting and budget monitoring are currently managed outside the system, and they would value an experienced finance professional who can help them improve consistency, accuracy and the usefulness of financial information provided to senior management and Trustees.

This is not a day-to-day finance role. The assignment is intended as an independent review and strengthening exercise, working with the Managing Director, Finance Manager and selected Trustees to identify practical improvements and develop a realistic action plan.

Key areas of support may include:

• Reviewing current finance processes, month-end routines and reporting timelines.
• Reviewing how Xero is currently being used, including any processes or reporting managed outside the system.
• Supporting improvements to monthly management accounts and Board reporting.
• Reviewing internal controls, financial procedures and consistency of finance processes.
• Identifying key financial risks, control gaps or areas where processes could be strengthened.
• Advising on forecasting, budget monitoring and how project managers provide information to the finance team.
• Supporting the Finance Manager to strengthen monthly reporting and budget versus actual monitoring.
• Providing practical suggestions, templates or examples where helpful.
• Helping develop a clear, proportionate action plan with priorities and timelines.

We are looking for someone with:

• Senior charity finance experience.
• Strong financial management, management accounts and Board reporting experience.
• Experience reviewing or improving finance systems, processes, controls and reporting routines.
• Good working knowledge of Xero.
• Understanding of UK charity finance, trustee reporting and governance expectations.
• Experience with international charities or organisations operating across multiple countries would be helpful.
• A practical, diplomatic and collaborative approach.

The assignment is expected to involve up to 75 hours of remote support over around 3 to 4 months. The organisation expects a minimum commitment of around 4 hours per week, with the exact schedule and workplan to be agreed between the volunteer and the organisation.

This would be a good opportunity for a senior charity finance professional who enjoys helping organisations strengthen their systems, reporting and governance in a practical and supportive way.

We’ve already created a bright, joyful visual identity using AI — but now we need a skilled Graphic Designer to bring it all together into a coherent, professional brand guidelines document.

Your work will become the foundation for every future designer, filmmaker, photographer, website developer, and creative who joins our movement.

You will help define how SUNSHINE looks, feels, and shines.

Your Mission: What You’ll Create

As our volunteer Graphic Designer, you will take the creative assets we’ve already developed and turn them into a polished, unified brand system.

You will:

• Create a full SUNSHINE Brand Guidelines document that clearly explains:

  • Our logo usage

  • Colour palette

  • Typography

  • Iconography

  • Layout styles

  • Photography style

  • Tone, mood, and visual personality

  • AI‑generated brand elements

  • Do’s and don’ts

  • Templates for future creatives

• Organise and refine our existing AI‑generated branding, ensuring it feels:

  • Positive

  • Uplifting

  • Vibrant

  • Human

  • Consistent

  • Professional

• Develop a coherent visual identity that reflects our mission to tackle loneliness with joy, warmth, and connection.

• Prepare a clear, easy‑to‑use brand pack that future graphic designers, website designers, photographers, and filmmakers can follow.

• Help shape the visual future of SUNSHINE, ensuring our brand remains instantly recognisable across London.

Your guidelines will become the creative backbone of the charity.

You don’t need agency experience or a design degree — but you do need a strong eye for design and a love for creating beautiful, coherent brand systems.

You are:

We are seeking London‑based volunteer photographers and filmmakers who can capture the heart of SUNSHINE — our people, our pop‑ups, our energy — and help us raise awareness of loneliness across the city through powerful, uplifting visuals.

Your work will become the visual identity of SUNSHINE Charity across our website, social media, campaigns, and publicity.

Your Mission: What You’ll Create

1. Photography – Capturing the SUNSHINE Spirit

We’re looking for a photographer who can build a library of images that reflect:

• Positivity

• Vibrancy

• Human connection

• Joy

• Colour

• Warmth

• London community life

You will:

• Travel around London to capture moments that reflect connection, sunshine, positivity, human warmth — and, when appropriate, the quiet reality of loneliness.

• Attend occasional SUNSHINE pop‑ups in Tower Hamlets and Inner London.

• Capture candid moments of connection, smiles, conversations, and community.

• Photograph our neon‑bright brand elements (t‑shirts, quote cards, bubble machines).

• Create portrait‑style shots of volunteers and community members (with consent).

• Build a curated image library for our website, social media, and campaigns.

Your photography will help London see the movement we’re building.

2. Filmmaking – Telling the Story of SUNSHINE

We’re also seeking a filmmaker who can create:

• Short clips for social media

• 10–30 second promos

• Mini‑documentary style pieces

• Awareness videos about loneliness

• Uplifting, energetic brand films

• Creative storytelling moments from our pop‑ups

You will:

• Travel around London to film moments that reflect connection, sunshine, positivity, human warmth — and, when appropriate, the quiet reality of loneliness. Also interviewing and filming members of the public.

• Film at selected SUNSHINE events and activities.

• Capture interviews, smiles, interactions, and community energy.

• Edit short, punchy videos that reflect our bright, positive brand.

• Help us create a visual campaign that raises awareness of loneliness across London.

Your films will help people understand why SUNSHINE matters.
