Job Purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis via a drop-in service.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

The Role

The role of the team manager will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The role will also include line management and supervision of senior support workers and support workers within the service. Team managers are responsible for management of their site; including report writing, audits and being the named manager for the site and allocated borough following the borough-based approach. This role directly supports the service managers in keeping to a high standard service. The role will include implementing a smooth running of the service including facilitating debriefing and providing senior support onsite. The role of the team manager is non-clinical.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing a person centred and recovery orientated approach in all aspects of the roles and responsibilities.

• Guiding the team, responding to referrals and planning each shift in terms of staffing, activities and case allocation

• Understanding of risk and risk management

• Understanding safeguarding adults and children processes and legal requirements

• To work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and under pressure

• Oversee re-admitters and clients being discharged on a weekly basis

• Responsible lead for allocated site, attend and lead discussions with MDT teams

• Responsible for keeping allocated site to a high standard and reporting any health and safety concerns

• To facilitate daily briefings with team to ensure continuity and safety

• Understanding of safety planning and de-escalation

• Monitoring and management of team training, absence and wellbeing

• Working collaboratively with clients to understand their needs and developing flexible and realistic crisis support packages/person centred plans

• Promoting people’ rights and responsibilities

• Conduct monthly supervisions and annual appraisals of supervisees

• Work and manage the team in-line with targets and KPI’s, ensuring that outcomes, outputs and impact are recorded

• Listening to clients and encouraging positive steps towards self-management of crisis and recovery, providing advice, information, practical and emotional support to clients

• To attend all mandatory training including safeguarding and GDPR and actively embrace own CPD

• Proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies e.g. CATT, Emergency Duty Teams, CMHTS, etc

• Maintain and ensure team compliance of accurate records, detailing interventions

• Abide by supporting governance such as Mind Policy and Proceedures, Understanding CQC standards and NICE guidelines around mental health

• Providing administrative support to the team

• Overseeing and provide shadowing to new staff members and volunteers

• Attend reflective practice, peer supervision and line management supervision

• Create and maintain good working relationships with partner agencies

• Provide guidance to support workers and volunteers

• To work with service managers and assist with reporting and monitoring

Person Specification

• Minimum of 1 year working in mental health services and with clients experiencing mental health distress and crisis

• Experience of line management within a mental health setting

• Experience of de-escalation

• Experience of managing challenging behaviour and dealing with clients with complex needs

• Evidence of continual professional development

• Understanding of the Recovery Model in mental health

• Understanding of the principles of trauma informed care

• Understanding of suicide prevention and safety planning

• Experience of managing safeguarding risks and understanding legal requirements for safeguarding adults and children

• Understanding of how to report and mitigate risks

• Understanding of the relationship between mental health and social issues and how these issues may impact on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing

• Understanding of relevant legislation and policies

• Understanding safeguarding adults and children processes and legal requirements

• Awareness of issues in mental health service provision

• A good understanding of mental health conditions

• Experience of working with vulnerable individuals

• Creative and flexible approach to working with individuals

• Car driver with sole ownership of a vehicle and ability to travel to multiple locations (e.g. NHS sites and community sites) would be essential.

About this exciting opportunity

Working as part of a multi-agency team, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  You will undertake assessment and action planning with individual service users, create a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users, plus deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.

We will also count on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, including probation, prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users, ensuring you work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales.  Using agreed CRM databases and recording all activity relating to caseload and providing updates and reports are also key duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support through action planning and interventions involving advice, guidance, advocacy, and coaching
• An ability to work sensitively with clients applying trauma-informed strategies
• Impressive IT, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written

About the Role and the Service

The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will play a key role in a new service to ensure unpaid carers in Milton Keynes are supported through a “no wrong door” approach.

Working as part of a partnership delivery hub with other local service provides, the postholder will provide person centred 1-2-1 support to carers of individuals living with mental health challenges and/or addictions. The Navigator will work flexibly offering face-to-face and telephone support to co-create wellbeing plans, strengthen resilience, and promote access to appropriate information, resources and services.

The Carer’s Wellbeing Navigator will also identify opportunities for peer-led support by developing and facilitating peer group(s) empowering carers to share experiences and reduce social isolation.

The role will also contribute to wider awareness-raising of unpaid carers through initiatives such as National Carers Week and the celebration of carers in the community.

Highly dynamic and self-led, the Navigator will actively help to shape the service, building strong links with local partners and ensuring unpaid carers of those with mental health difficulties receive inclusive, and accessible support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a service and ensure outcomes which supports unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions, in line with the service delivery model, contractual requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Promote and raise awareness of this service across Milton Keynes including building relationships with referral organisations, VSCE and statutory services and the wider community.
• Build effective collaborative relationships with other hub partners and attend partner meetings when required.
• Support with effective referral routes in to and out of the service which break down any access barriers.
• Contribute to the development and review of service delivery.
• Effectively manage and process referrals into the service and prioritise a caseload of unpaid carers that ensures timely and effective support in line with the service delivery model.
• Carry out an initial assessment of individual support needs, priorities and risk, in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes.
• Enable individuals to explore the situation that is affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan to help address their immediate needs.
• Offer focused support with the aim of building knowledge, skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
• Signpost, and support to access, other relevant organisations and the wider community offer to address wider issues affecting their mental health.
• Share personalised information and advice about each unique circumstance and provide resources to support the carers mental health and wellbeing.
• Develop and facilitate peer support groups for unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).

· To help assess the needs and strengths of the parents/carers referred into the service and help them identify short-term goals to achieve desired change.  

· Record and review parent/carer goals using the Goal-Based Outcomes tool and use this to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.  

· To take responsibility for managing own caseload and diary. 

· To involve parents/carers in the co-design of group work and ensure that the service responds to user voice and meets the needs identified. 

· To provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of interventions and group work. 

· You will deliver services from YMCA East Surrey sites and other community venues across the following areas – Banstead, Tadworth, Epsom, Ewell, Ashtead, Leatherhead, Dorking and Esher. 

· Any other duties which you are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.

About this exciting opportunity

Our successful candidate will provide operational management and effective leadership to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.

We will count on you to set performance objectives and monitor progress – ensuring compliance with contractual performance indicators and quality improvement, and to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance.

The role of the Programme Coordinator is to support the Development Manager in the successful delivery of the CRT Engage programme throughout England. This will involve:

The service is growing in reach, impact, and complexity. That’s why we’re now recruiting an Information & Advice Service Manager — a brand-new role that will provide the leadership, oversight and expertise the service needs to flourish into the future.

What you’ll do:

This is a varied role that blends strategic leadership, quality oversight and hands-on expertise. You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading the I&A service, ensuring it meets the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and delivers consistently excellent outcomes.

• Supporting and mentoring staff and volunteers, creating a collaborative and high-performing culture.

• Acting as safeguarding lead for the service.

• Driving continuous improvement in systems, policies and practice.

• Building strong relationships with funders, commissioners and partners, demonstrating the impact of our work.

• Occasionally taking on complex cases yourself, using your expertise to guide both the team and the clients we support.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Experience leading or managing advice services (welfare benefits, housing, health & social care or similar).

• Strong safeguarding knowledge and confidence acting as a safeguarding lead.

• Excellent people skills: you’ll enjoy coaching and developing others, and you’ll know how to get the best from both staff and volunteers.

• The ability to represent ACWG confidently with funders and partners.

Purpose of the post : To provide specialised, holistic support to adults and families who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse, harm and violence, and are being supported within Community services in Torfaen

Who are we looking for?We are looking for a compassionate, reflective, and person-centred individual to join our team in delivering trauma-informed support to adults and families. This role is about more than providing a service—it’s about striving for people to feel safer, gain more control, and have choice over decisions about their future.
You’ll work collaboratively to create environments where individuals feel seen, heard, and respected, and where their experiences and strengths shape the support, they receive.

Specific responsibilities

• Collaborate with individuals and team members to provide trauma informed support to a caseload of adults and young people within community settings.
• Assess and manage risk sensitively and collaboratively, promoting safety through strengths-based approaches that recognise each person’s lived experience.
• Co-develop personalised support and/or safety plans with individuals, ensuring goals are meaningful, achievable, and shaped by the person’s own priorities and values.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and organisational policies, maintaining a trauma-informed, non-judgemental stance that prioritises dignity and emotional safety.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records that reflect the support provided, using respectful, person-centred language
• Provide clear, compassionate signposting to internal and external services, guided by the individual’s expressed needs, interests, and readiness.
• Create regular opportunities for feedback, ensuring Cyfannol’s services are shaped by the voices and experiences of those supported.
• Contribute to audits and reporting, engaging positively with service improvement plans and recognising the value of reflective learning and continuous development.
• Participate actively in clinical and managerial supervision, using these spaces for reflection, learning, and maintaining emotional wellbeing in a supportive environment.
• Build and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with external agencies, advocating for the needs and rights of individuals in a way that promotes trust and partnership.

About our Community Crisis Cafés

Our Community Crisis Cafes offer a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental environment outside of normal working hours for those who feel in mental distress or crisis.

About the Role

This will involve working with service users in a preventative way, assessing needs, deescalating crisis, offering coping strategies, signposting to other services and ensuring they feel supported, through the process of improving their mental health and wellbeing.

Staff will work with a team of Crisis Recovery Workers.

Service Delivery

• Deliver crisis focussed 1:1s and ensure outcomes which supports individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in Houghton Regis & Central Bedfordshire, in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed crisis service and requirements as well as contract requirements.
• Assessing need and suitability for the service in line with the access to service’s process and undertaking 1:1s.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.
