The Health and Wellbeing Spaces in Croydon is provided and managed through a partnership between Mind in Croydon and the Croydon BME Forum to deliver on an innovative new project. During the period of 1 March 2022 – 31 March 2023 all staff working in the Croydon Health and Wellbeing Space who are employed by Croydon BME Forum have been temporary seconded to Mind in Croydon.
We are looking for a Trainee Domestic Abuse Support Worker who will receive training and support to develop their skills into the role over a period of time. The training will include going on a Level 3 Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) course, so the person can become qualified at this level.
The Service provides access to clinical support as well as advice, information and support to enable people to overcome barriers to manage their mental health and independence, including access to welfare benefits, housing, money and debt management, education, training and employment, including support in times of crisis. The service aims to provide better access to mental health services and support for people who have not previously engaged with support, including BME communities. Service Users can self-present at the Space (without a need for referral) during the service core opening hours, or alternatively, be formally referred by Central Croydon Health / Mental Health clinical teams, and other Third Sector Organisations.
The multi-disciplinary team during the initial one-year test period will inform the development and growth of the Health and Wellbeing Space to meet local needs and to ensure that it can support community-based mental health and wellbeing across the whole population and in all 6 Integrated Care Network Plus localities by 2023.
As a Health and Wellbeing Space Trainee Domestic Abuse Support Worker your primary responsibility will be to provide intervention to those who are affected by sexual, domestic and family violence. The role will be the voice of the BME community and to represent those people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. This will include risk assessment and safety planning, crisis support, case management and ongoing domestic abuse support. The successful candidate will receive all the support and training needed to develop their skills for the role. They will also need to develop positive working relationships with a variety of agencies to ensure successful signposting and integration of services for clients. They will manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the Health and Wellbeing Space Manager. In addition to casework, the role will be expected to assist with reception and initial referrals in the Space when required and will also support Space volunteers.

The role
This important role sits within our Supply Chain and Logistics team who are responsible for processing offers of surplus food from our food partners into our network of Regional Centres and the wider community. This role is essential in ensuring that the food we are offered reaches the thousands of charities and community groups we support across the UK.
You will assist the Supply Chain and Logistics Officers in their operational work on the team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Officers to support in liaising with FareShare food suppliers, transport partners and our Regional Centres in order to distribute food to our beneficiaries. The provision of excellent operational support and customer service is central to this role.

Main areas of responsibility
Food Industry Customer Service
· Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring offers are responded to and processed within agreed service level requirements
· Assist in capturing key account information in our CRM system
Regional Centre allocation
· Adhere to the requirements of the Network Service Level Agreement
· Work with the Supply Chain and Logistics Officers to match food supplied to Regional Centre needs, always working to maximise surplus redistribution and minimise waste
· Ensure that offers are allocated in an efficient and timely manner according to network needs and agreed priorities to maximise social impact of surplus food
· Using our CRM system, maintain timely records of accounts, allocations, offers and case management
· Maintain high standards of customer service to the Network and Operations teams and develop respectful and effective working relationships with the Regional Centres.
Logistics and transport
· Work with hauliers to plan transport requirements and ensure that we are able to meet network demand
· Work with Regional Centres to coordinate and plan routes for internal FareShare logistics
· Reactively solve transport issues throughout the working day
Data and analysis
· Analyse Salesforce reports to increase efficiency of allocation
· Use dashboards to monitor network issues

The Role
Our 451 service is changing, and this exciting new role is an opportunity to join a dynamic and important service from the beginning. The brand-new service comprises a 9-bed residence offering supported accommodation for people who have been experiencing homelessness, alongside a new day service for non-residents. People will have a range of complex and enduring needs, including mental ill-health, substance misuse, offending and repeated experiences of rough sleeping.
In this role you will be working with colleagues and residents to ensure that the service operates to the highest standards, 24/7. You will be part of a committed and person-centred team, one of around 10 new Support Workers, supporting residents and day service users, which might include maintaining their accommodation, helping people address their long-standing support needs, focusing on harm minimisation, and recovery when people are ready.
About You
You will be someone with previous experience of working or volunteering to support vulnerable adults, or an understanding or awareness of this through life experiences. You will also be able to show your commitment to understanding the effect someone’s past experiences have on who they are today. ESSENTIAL

Passionate about catalysing change in all young people’s lives

Proven track record of at least 3 years youth work experience in schools/community context

Team leadership experience

Experience of leading community youth provision & able to take responsibility where required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Able to relate easily to young people from a variety of backgrounds and develop positive relationships that enable change in their lives, setting appropriate boundaries

Some experience in managing volunteers and able to mobilise and motivate them

Our Supported Living Services team supports people with learning disabilities to live independently in the community in both Shared Homes and independent housing. Our Shared Homes are based in New Malden and Surbiton.
We provide support to our service users to enhance their quality of life in relation to all areas of need, including health & safety, social interaction, and personal care in line with agreed support plans and an agreed approach to risk management.
We promote independence, choice and empowerment in their daily lives, reflecting their rights to consultation around their care, being an active member of their family and their local community, and opportunities for learning, development and growth.

About the role
We have some exciting opportunities to join the team as Assistant Support Workers (known internally as Duty Worker) where you can develop valuable skills and experience while playing a key role in providing support to St Mungo’s clients. We currently have vacancies available in our 24 hour supported accommodation services working with clients with complex needs.
In this role you will jointly manage the safe day to day running of the project with other members of the team and to provide basic support and advice to clients. In this role you will be the first point of contact at Reception for clients and visitors and have the opportunity to maintain a welcoming and supportive environment within the project. Other responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating important Health and Safety checks and other administrative duties.
- Work alongside the team to provide a person centred support to residents and clients.
- Working on the weekly shift rota that may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
About you:
This is a fantastic role for people looking to develop a career in the sector; a number of current Managers started their career as Duty Workers.
- Some experience of dealing directly with the public and/or clients or customers in a busy service environment.
- Personal experience of homelessness and/or an understanding of; and empathy with the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people.
- A genuine interest in helping vulnerable people to make positive changes in their life, and the willingness to develop these valuable skills.

Pay and Other Benefits
- For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
