We have just entered a new five-year strategy period and are looking for someone to join our expanding Research Team, which both commissions and conducts research. We are a growing organisation and will be further expanding internationally over the strategy period.

Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. We believe no one should face financial hardship in later life. 

Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through our grants programme, we support hundreds of local organisations working with older people across the UK.  

We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

As Policy Officer you'll use your expertise to influence change on key areas, including housing, household costs and income. You'll investigate complex policy areas and translate these into engaging and accessible content for reports and briefings to build a compelling evidence base to directly impact national policy. You will conduct vital qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring our policy positions are robust and informed by real-life experiences, speaking directly to older people in financial hardship. You will also have opportunities to work with a range of external stakeholders to develop and advocate for our key policy calls. 

You will have experience of conducting research and producing high-quality written analysis, with excellent written and verbal skills to effectively tailor information for different audiences. You will be able to apply your existing understanding of public policy, policymaking processes and advocacy to create positive change. You'll need experience of building strong working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Above all, you will have a genuine passion for our cause!

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days or a 9-day fortnight. We also are open to this role being worked on a part-time basis on a minimum of 28 hours per week. It is a fixed term contract for up to 12 months.

The Role 

The Senior Digital and Content Manager leads the development and delivery of Malaria No More UK’s digital content strategy — shaping how we inspire action, influence decision-makers and elevate diverse voices to drive progress against malaria. 
 
This is a pivotal role at a pivotal moment. You’ll design and deliver a digital engagement strategy that advances our advocacy and policy change goals, responds to the fast-moving communications landscape, and builds understanding, belief and momentum for investing in the fight to end malaria. 
 
Combining strategic thinking, creative storytelling and digital innovation, you’ll position Malaria No More UK as a bold, credible and solutions-focused voice in the global malaria fight. Managing one staff member (Digital Engagement Officer), you’ll collaborate across the organisation to ensure our digital strategy delivers measurable influence and impact — while staying true to our brand voice: togetherness, momentum and possibility. 

The average day in this role will be changeable, so being flexible and good under pressure is essential. From crafting last minute social storytelling posts, to overseeing creative content work being developed, looking ahead to create strategic plans for major events and campaigns coming up, to feeding back on creative work and liaising with multiple partners for sign off. It is a fast-paced role that requires a can-do approach.

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership 

• Lead the development and execution of Malaria No More UK’s digital content strategy, aligning it with organisational priorities and malaria advocacy goals. 

• Build digital capability across the organization. 

• Shape a cohesive digital narrative that brings together science, economics, innovation and lived experience, highlighting the people and ideas driving progress against malaria. 

• Position Malaria No More UK’s digital storytelling to make a compelling case for investment: to end malaria in our lifetime, save lives and unlock billions in shared growth and prosperity. 

• Develop digital strategies that turn uncertainty in malaria financing into opportunities for leadership, influence and renewed commitment. 

• Define objectives and KPIs for digital engagement, measuring reach, influence and impact across key audiences and contributing to internal and funder reporting.

Content Creation, Storytelling and Publishing

• Collaborating with colleagues to work with scientists, celebrity ambassadors, economists, African business leaders, people with lived experience and creators to share diverse, authentic stories that reinforce the case for investment in ending malaria. 

• Oversee the content calendar, ensuring effective planning and delivery across overlapping communication priorities. 

• Act as the interface between colleagues writing reports and publications, and the Digital Engagement Officer and designer — ensuring best practice in publishing and digital production. 

• Work with creative agencies and partners to produce digital content that supports major advocacy and policy milestones. 

• Uphold Malaria No More UK’s brand voice and values, ensuring inclusivity, dignity and authenticity in all communications. 

• Oversee the organisation’s three brand websites and various campaign sites, including content, performance, and maintenance. 

Collaboration and Leadership 

• Manage and mentor the Digital Engagement Officer, fostering creativity, learning and professional growth. 

• Manage freelance designers and video editors to deliver high-quality digital assets. 

• Along with the Head of Ambassador Relations & Creative Partnerships, build and maintain relationships with digital influencers, media partners and creative collaborators in the malaria and development space. 

• Actively collaborate across teams, ensuring alignment between digital activity, policy priorities and fundraising opportunities. 

Innovation and Insight 

• Stay ahead of emerging digital trends, tools and technologies — including AI — that can amplify influence and advocacy impact.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills 

We’re looking for a creative digital strategist who can turn ideas into impact.  Someone who combines sharp technical know-how with a flair for storytelling, collaboration and purpose-driven campaigning. 

Essential 

• Proven experience leading digital communications and content strategies across multiple platforms to deliver measurable impact. 

• Strong ability to translate complex issues into engaging, shareable content tailored to diverse audiences. 

• Demonstrated success managing digital campaigns that drive awareness, engagement and action. 

• Experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary or cross-regional teams, aligning digital outputs with advocacy and fundraising goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE OF DIRECTOR

CDMT is the industry body for world-class professional schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations in the performing arts, and we are a strong advocate on behalf of the sector.

The Director of the CDMT plays a strategic role in performing arts training, education and assessment nationally and manages the staff and resources of an organisation of UK-wide standing. The CDMT is financed primarily by membership subscriptions. As this source of income is restricted, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strategic business sense and a successful income-driven record that will enable the CDMT to create, diversify and take full advantage of developing opportunities.

The Director must be able to liaise effectively with all sectors of the dance, drama, music and musical theatre education communities.  They will have wide knowledge and experience of arts education at all stages of development from entry level, through Further/Higher Education to post-graduate level, and will also require an understanding of qualification frameworks in the UK. Knowledge and experience of inspection and self-assessment mechanisms similar to those operated by the Office for Students, Ofsted and Ofqual, is desirable.

The role includes advocacy on behalf of the sector and requires an ability to offer support and advice to professional schools, conservatoires and awarding organisations as well as informing the thinking of regulators, civil servants and parliamentarians. This demands a high level of tact, diplomacy, professional understanding and tenacity as well as intellectual rigour and integrity.

We’re looking for a Policy Officer – Wales to help shape policy, build relationships, and advocate for better support and care for kidney patients. In this brand-new role, you’ll work for Kidney Care UK and Kidney Wales, engaging with policymakers, healthcare professionals, and those affected by kidney disease.

You’ll spend time at the Senedd, building connections with local politicians and councillors, and ensuring the voices of kidney patients are heard loud and clear. With your knowledge of Welsh Government structures (or similar UK experience), you’ll help drive our campaigns and influence change.

The Role

What will I be doing?

As Project Officer, Workforce Partnerships, you’ll be part of the Education and Workforce team, supporting our mission to build a strong, diverse physics workforce for the future. Your work will help leverage our evidence and insights to identify and develop institutional partnerships through which we can deliver sustainable impact against our Skills priorities.

You will also take a lead in celebrating the crucial role of physics-related technical talent in the workplace through operational administration of our flagship Technical Skills Awards.

You’ll support the delivery of projects, working closely with colleagues across the organisation, IOP Members and external stakeholders.

Projects and activities you may work on include:

• Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement activities to drive impactful new partnership development.
• Helping to design and deliver workshops, events and engagement campaigns. As an example, this could include supporting the development of case studies, and digital and print collateral, to raise the awareness and visibility of physics-related routes to employment.
• Leading the annual cycle of delivery, administration and operation of the IOP’s Technical Skills Awards.
• Supporting the management of project processes including bids, contracts, MOUs, budgets and reporting.

• Manager, Workforce Partnerships (line manager)
• Colleagues across the Education and Workforce team, as well as others in Policy and Public Affairs, Science, Business and Data Insights, Communications and Marketing, Public Engagement, and Membership and Inclusion.
• Members, employers and other key stakeholders in the education, social mobility, training and skills landscape.

What skills and experience do I need?

Essential:

• Project management, programme and events administration, with the ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams.
• Experience writing and maintaining accurate documentation, including reporting for senior boards and committees.
• Experience of developing partnerships with expertise in stakeholder management and engagement to drive organisational profile and influence.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to a diverse range of audiences through face to face, written and digital methods.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration, supporting alignment across diverse teams and disciplines
• Knowledge of, or willingness to build, domain knowledge of skills stakeholder audiences

About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to provide a front-line response to reports of serious anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, safeguarding and other community safety issues. Our Anti-Social Behaviour Team is a small, high performing team which deals with the above issues, along with our duties under Prevent, Modern Day Slavery, Hate Crimes and the Community Safety Partnership. This vacancy would give you the ideal opportunity to provide a front-line response and support Council tenants that report serious anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, safeguarding and other community safety issues.
 
About you
You will be working closely with our colleagues in our Housing Management team, the Police, Social Services and other partner agencies. We are looking for an experienced individual to join our team with direct case management expertise of handing complex cases involving anti-social behaviour, and domestic abuse or safeguarding – either with a local authority or a social housing provider. There is a lot of autonomy in this role and its best suited to a candidate that can work proactively on their own initiative handling a demanding caseload.

In the last four years, Citizens Advice in East Dorset and Purbeck have come together, managed the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact this had on the delivery of services; faced the increase in demand for our services through the cost-of-living crisis, as well as working with two other Local Citizens Advice (LCAs) in the Dorset Council area to deliver the Dorset Council Advice contract.

This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to play a key role in shaping the future direction and success of Citizens Advice in East Dorset & Purbeck.  You will need to be highly motivated, committed to making a difference and have the ability to take your staff and volunteers with you as together you face the challenges of the future.

With the Trustee Board, you’ll be leading the development and delivery of the way forward for the service in the future. You will need to engage staff, volunteers and external stakeholders, while continuing to secure new funding streams to ensure that the high level of service delivery is maintained.
