RESPONSIBILITIES:

Income Generation

• Develop funding strategies for prospective trusts, identifying the strongest organisational and project matches and recommending the most effective approach.

• Write and submit tailored and effective funding applications to meet agreed income targets.

• Monitor application deadlines and ensure timely submission.

• Work with colleagues to gather, interpret and present service data, outcomes and financial information to produce high-quality, evidence-based funding proposals and reports.

• Contribute to the development of larger or more complex funding proposals, working alongside the Trusts and Foundations Manager and colleagues across the organisation.

• Contribute ideas that help Back Up’s Fundraising team develop innovative approaches to trusts fundraising, stewardship and donor engagement.

Relationship Management and Stewardship

• Ensure compliance with funder requirements by preparing and delivering high-quality impact reports and other agreed reporting, demonstrating how their contributions have been used.

• Act as the primary point of contact for trusts and foundations within your portfolio, building trusted relationships.

• Develop and deliver an engaging, year-round stewardship programme that goes beyond grant reporting, creating meaningful opportunities for funders to see the impact of their support through tailored communications, multi-media updates and personalised engagement.

Other

• Use application outcomes, funder feedback and sector learning to continually improve proposal quality, stewardship and trusts fundraising performance.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to gather information for compelling stewardship, cultivation, proposals and reports and maintain a deep understanding of the impact support provides to those with a spinal cord injury.

• Monitor trends in grant-making and maintain an understanding of developments affecting people with spinal cord injury to strengthen funding proposals.

• Contribute to Trusts processes for recording and sharing useful resources.

• Maintain accurate records of trust and foundation activity, ensuring Salesforce CRM and pipeline information is up to date and supports effective relationship management, reporting and forecasting.

• Use CRM, service data and organisational insight to support prospect research, develop compelling funding applications and identify opportunities for growth.

• Be an ambassador for Back Up and be part of the team at occasional Back Up events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Candidates must fulfil the following essential criteria:

Essential

· Experience in trusts and foundations fundraising with the ability to identify funding opportunities and develop successful funding proposals.

· Confident using technology, including CRM systems and AI-assisted tools and spreadsheets, to support research, prospecting and proposal development while maintaining high standards of accuracy and judgement.

· Highly organised and able to manage multiple deadlines.

· Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging and persuasive funding proposals and reports.

About the Team

The Corporate Partnerships Officer works alongside the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager on the Nationwide partnership and will play a vital role within the Corporate Partnerships Function of the Relationship Fundraising Department. The Partnership Management Team work closely with the Corporate New Business team to on-board partners and provide high quality account management to our corporate partnership portfolio.

About The Role

The Corporate Partnerships Officer will be primarily responsible for supporting on the delivery of Centrepoint’s multi-year, 7-figure strategic partnership with Nationwide Building Society. This partnership is the largest multi-year partnership in Centrepoint’s corporate portfolio to date, and a transformational partnership for Centrepoint and the young people we work with. Funding supports a range of measures to help young people experiencing homelessness across the UK.

Working between our offices in London/ Manchester, as well as from the partner’s head office future, you will work alongside the Corporate Partnerships Manager to support successful delivery of all aspects of the partnership, as well as taking ownership of your own projects. This will include supporting with fundraising and volunteering engagement with Nationwide colleagues, as well as administrative support across the partnership. You will provide excellent stewardship for this partnership and future corporate partners and identify opportunities to increase engagement and income.

This role sits within a Corporate Fundraising team of 14, split into a New Business team, and Partnership Management team. The Partnership Management team is made up of ten corporate fundraisers who manage complex and exciting partnerships with a wide range of committed corporate partners.

About You

You will be ambitious and driven, ideally with experience within fundraising, account management or programme management. You will have great attention to detail and experience managing and prioritising a diverse workload. You will be an excellent communicator and networker, with the ability to form strong relationships externally and internally, including engaging with a range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support on the successful delivery of the Nationwide partnership, working alongside the Corporate Partnerships Manager.
• Administrative support for the Nationwide partnership including partnership admin and finance processes such as invoicing, income coding, minute taking and recording information on the database.
• Support with managing and developing the volunteering process and opportunities for Nationwide colleagues, ensuring excellent stewardship.
• Support with logistical plans and recruitment for Centrepoint’s flagship event, Sleep Out.
• Gather content and data to support in the compilation of reports on income, expenditure, and partnership impact.
• Develop and maintain proactive and effective working relationships with a range of cross functional teams including key internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent Centrepoint and the partnership at Centrepoint and third-party events.
• Actively participate in all team meetings and support other team members.
• Manage other mid-value (£10k-£50k) corporate partnerships if required.

The Opportunity

This is a new and significant appointment for SWT UK. We are looking for a Director of Development to develop and lead our UK fundraising strategy – taking ownership of income generation across all streams, donor communications and supporter stewardship, and managing a team of three talented fundraising professionals.

Our individual supporter base is large globally – growing in UK – loyal and deeply engaged: many give through our elephant adoption programme, which connects them directly with named animals in our care. We are now ready to build on this engaged supporter base and develop it into a structured individual giving programme – with mid-level giving pathways, major donor cultivation, systematic stewardship and deeper philanthropic relationships. That is the central challenge and opportunity of this role.

We also have active corporate and trust relationships, a legacy programme in development, and real potential to grow income from European and international funders. The Director of Development will take ownership of all of this – hands on and strategic in equal measure.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement a new UK fundraising strategy, establishing clear priorities, income targets and programmes that will drive growth through to 2030 and beyond
• Develop and implement a UK individual giving programme – building on our adoption base to create structured giving journeys, mid-level and major donor cultivation, and meaningful stewardship
• Manage the UK fundraising budget, set and monitor income targets across all streams, and report regularly to the Executive Director on performance and ROI
• Take day-to-day ownership of corporate and trust relationships, writing reports, proposals and partner communications

About You

We are looking for a fundraiser who loves the craft – someone who is energised by building relationships, writing a compelling proposal, developing a giving programme from scratch, and ensuring every supporter feels genuinely valued. This is a hands-on role as much as a leadership one, and the right person will be comfortable doing both.

• Proven track record in fundraising, with demonstrable success securing income from individuals, trusts or corporates – including five-figure gifts and above
• Experience developing individual giving programmes, including mid-level or major donor cultivation
• A hands-on practitioner – comfortable writing proposals, reports and donor communications yourself
• Experience managing a small fundraising team with warmth, clarity and accountability
• Strong relationship management and stewardship skills
• Experience working with a donor CRM and using data to inform fundraising decisions
• Comfortable in a building role – excited by developing programmes that don't yet exist
• Experience managing fundraising budgets and producing income forecasts and performance reports.
• Genuine passion for wildlife conservation – this role is for someone who cares about the cause
• Committed to in-person working – we believe day-to-day presence and collaboration produces better outcomes for our donors and our team, and ask for a minimum of three days per week at our Billingshurst office

Operations

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of operational systems, processes and policies to ensure the charity operates efficiently, consistently and in line with best practice.

To achieve this, we work in collaboration with Palestinian communities and trusted local partners, and coordinate with key stakeholders and relevant clusters, to answer a wide range of health and social needs, from providing vital medical aid in emergencies, to supporting the development of better health services for the long term. We also uplift the voices of Palestinians, and campaign for an end to the barriers to health and dignity that come from living through occupation, displacement, discrimination and conflict. 

In the past, MAP has grown at times of intense crises for Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees, and then shrunk once these crises have abated. The needs of Palestinians, following developments since October 2023, are now acute and certain to be ongoing for many years to come. That shrinking is not an option for MAP. We must grow sustainably, and we must have a demonstrable positive impact across the communities we serve. About the role 

This is a pivotal time to be joining MAP’s dynamic Fundraising and Marketing Team. In the last two years we have raised around £100 million. You will play a crucial role in expanding our impact by helping to raise funding for our existing projects, and for the further development and growth of the organisation. We are looking for a proactive, experienced, and motivated individual with the ability to lead and develop an established Trusts and Foundations programme to achieve ambitious income targets. We are seeking a dedicated professional who is able to work two days per week in our London office. This is really important to us because this is a donor-facing role with line management responsibilities. It will also involve working with colleagues across the charity. Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day line management and professional development support for the Trusts and Foundations Officer
• Develop and lead a Trusts and Foundations programme at MAP to secure income from active and cold audiences, focusing on donors giving £50,000+ per annum. 
• Identify new channels to grow income from Trusts and Foundations outside of the charity’s existing networks.
• Lead a strategy to maximise income by seeking opportunities and pursuing these opportunities to their full potential.
• Develop and deliver tailored proposals and stewardship plans, proactively improving knowledge capture and MAP’s understanding of supporters.
• Work with MAP’s Prospect Research Manager to identify, research, and cultivate leads to build a strong pipeline of Trusts and Foundations prospects that will have a significant, positive impact on income.
• Develop and implement a range of cultivation tools.
• Monitor, review and evaluate performance against strategic and operational plans, reports and financial forecasts.

As you will have seen from the role profile, this post requires a minimum of two days per week in our London office. This is really important to us because working with colleagues across F&M team or across the org etc.

You are a confident communicator, able to translate complex programmes and contextual information into persuasive, inspiring cases for support which can be tailored to a wide range of audiences.

With previous line management experience, or a passion for developing others, you are committed to supporting and empowering colleagues to achieve their full potential.

You bring excellent written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on achieving ambitious income targets. You are curious about developments in philanthropy and actively seek out innovative approaches and new funding opportunities, both in the UK and internationally.

George Watson’s College wishes to appoint a Senior Philanthropy Officer to lead the school’s individual giving and legacy fundraising initiatives, and support major programmes and campaigns. Develop strong relationships with donors and our alumni community to grow philanthropic income and long-term engagement. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

Individual Giving 

• Lead the planning, execution and optimisation of individual giving efforts. Manage campaign setup, timelines, assets, and donor experience.  

• Monitor performance and analyse results to drive continuous improvement in participation, engagement, and revenue.  

• Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing, and other internal teams, to source and develop compelling content.  

• Along with the Head of Development, manage a fundraising communications calendar and play a leading role in content creation.  

• Collaborate with the Admissions and Marketing team to ensure website content, landing pages, and donation pages support digital giving goals.  

• Execute fundraising strategies in partnership with the Head of Development. Build, segment, code, and deploy emails to support giving campaigns and organisational priorities.  

• Manage a portfolio of donors linked to specific programmes and campaigns. 

Legacies  

• Plan and deliver multi-channel legacy marketing campaigns (print, digital, events)  

• Build and maintain relationships with legacy pledgers and prospects  

• Deliver high-quality, sensitive stewardship to recognise and retain legacy supporters  

• Organise events and communications to engage legacy supporters  

• Produce compelling and sensitive legacy messaging and materials  

Campaign/Programmes 

• Manage and grow the patrons programme, including recruitment, retention, and upgrades  

• Develop a clear donor journey, including benefits, communications, and recognition  

• Monitor performance against income targets and KPIs  

• Work in collaboration with Heads of the Creative Arts programmes to monitor and administer funds for maximum impact across the arts 

Foundation Places and Enrichment Fund 

• Support impact reporting and administration of discrete aspects of our widening access programmes. 

• Manage application process to the Enrichment Fund, including managing enquiries, disbursements and liaison with Finance. 

• Any other duties related to these programmes as directed by senior staff. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE 

Essential: 

• Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent professional experience  

• Demonstrable experience in Individual Giving, Direct Marketing or Legacy fundraising, with an annual income return of 6+ figures  

• Proven track record of delivering successful multi-channel campaigns  

• Strong understanding of supporter journeys, acquisition and retention  

• Skilled in data analysis, performance tracking and forecasting   

• Proficiency with graphic design tools, experience with Canva would be an advantage.  

• Demonstrable experience with Raisers Edge, or similar CRM system 

• Ability to manage complex projects and programs and deliver to set KPI and timelines 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

• Experience with content writing, brand voice, and digital fundraising best practices.  

• Ability to build and foster relationships across business functions.  

• Understanding of charity law, GDPR and best practices in fundraising

The importance of your role: 

Individual giving and corporate support are vital to the delivery of RZSS's ambitious strategy and the Fundraising Manager is a senior role. Working with the Head of Fundraising and colleagues across RZSS, the post-holder will manage a small team to deliver inspiring multi-channel campaigns for individual giving, legacies and patrons as well as expanding a new major donor programme. The postholder will also manage the corporate partners programme and support the expansion of corporate sponsorship opportunities. 

This hugely varied role will include responsibility for developing our donor journey, managing relationships with major donors, leading events and donor visits whilst ensuring all supporters receive excellent stewardship. The fundraising team are based in Edinburgh Zoo (albeit this role can be offered as a hybrid position). This is a permanent full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. 

Some of the things you’ll do: 

• Contribute to and support the implementation and delivery of the fundraising strategy and annual fundraising plans to meet agreed engagement targets
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Fundraising team, implementing innovative strategy and business plans, identifying opportunities, setting, and monitoring targets/budgets to maximise income from funders.
• Manage all aspects of the Fundraising team’s work on donation campaigns, legacy marketing and Patron’s programme. This includes developing the donor journey and working across RZSS teams on all aspects of marketing and implementing multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
• Take the lead on developing a new major donor programme, building on existing relationships, developing cultivation events, visits and meetings as well as writing proposals.

• Work on large or complex fundraising projects with strategic impact to revenue, helping to define projects as well as identifying and engaging donors.
• Manage, motivate and develop direct reports, following good practice and working within HR policy guidelines, so their performance meets or exceeds agreed performance standards.

 What we’re looking for:

• CIOF fundraising qualifications or equivalent experience

• Knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship principles 

• Good understanding of the external fundraising environment in Scotland 

• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, communicating confidently with Leadership teams and other departments to deliver high-level cultivation and stewardship activity with a range of internal and external stakeholders
