The Public Affairs Officer supports the Holocaust Educational Trust’s parliamentary, policy and civil society engagement work. Working closely with the Public Affairs Manager, the role helps to build understanding and commitment among policy‑makers to ensuring that the Holocaust remains a central part of the UK’s national consciousness.

The successful candidate will provide meaningful support to activity that influences decision and policy makers; develop strong relationships with stakeholders; and provide ongoing political support for Holocaust education and antisemitism education across the UK.

The Officer contributes essential research, coordination, written and logistical support to the Public Affairs Manager and brings established contacts from across the political landscape to strengthen the organisation’s work.

MAP is looking for a professional institutional funding manager with vast experience in securing bilateral and multilateral grant and a track record of achieving income targets. As the Head of Institutional Funding, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and execution of MAP's institutional funding strategy. Your responsibilities will include establishing and nurturing relationships with key institutional donors such as UN agencies, FCDO, SIDA, and Irish Aid, as well as crafting compelling project proposals and ensuring compliance with all contractual and reporting requirements.

You will have extensive experience in securing grants from institutional donors, particularly in emergency response, relief, and rehabilitation projects. The Role

The Programme Officer will play an integral role in the Impact team within the broader Directorate of Impact and External Affairs. This is a pivotal time for Fight for Sight as we begin to implement our Impact Framework enabling us to communicate the impact of our extensive portfolio of current and past funded research projects to our internal and external audiences.

The role is diverse and varied, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to build their exposure to a complement of grant management activities across our research and social change funding programmes. The Role

The Programmes Manager (Education) leads DTL’s schools work, owning the relationships, logistics, and outcomes that sit at the heart of our education offer. This is a delivery role with real breadth: you will manage a national programme of training events, lead on school recruitment and retention, and ensure the programme generates the evidence base that sustains its long-term funding.

You will be the main point of contact for subscribing schools, working closely with the CEO and Head of Partnerships. You will represent DTL’s schools work to funders and external partners, and contribute to the strategic development of the programme over time.

While the Digital Ambassador Programme is currently grant funded for three years, DTL’s intention is for the programme to become financially self-sustaining through school subscriptions, and this role is central to achieving that. As the programme grows, so will the scope of this post and the team to support it.

This is an office based role (flexible working considered) from our Brighton office which will involve some travel.

The Digital Ambassador Programme

The Digital Ambassador Programme is DTL’s flagship schools initiative. It trains staff and student Digital Ambassadors in schools across the UK, equipping them to lead on digital safety from within - and to escalate harmful content directly via DTL’s trusted flagger network.

This model creates both a faculty lead to manage complex reports from young people and also a student lead who will be able to provide peer-to-peer support to their fellow students, ensuring that students who may not wish to report directly to the faculty will still have a reporting mechanism. 

Key Responsibilities

Programme delivery

• Manage all delivery phases from set up through to annual review, in line with the agreed delivery plan.

• Coordinate the logistics of 6 regional hub training events per year, including venue sourcing, school invitations, materials production, and on-the-day facilitation.

• Oversee the production of printed resources and ensure all school-facing materials meet DTL brand standards.

• Manage the year-round ambassador network: quarterly online meetings, monthly email digests, and peer-to-peer community activity.

School recruitment and retention

• Lead school recruitment and retention

Monitoring, evaluation and reporting

Job Purpose:

 This role will lead the development and delivery of Allergy UK’s youth engagement initiative. We are beginning several exciting new projects focused on engaging young people who live with allergy and providing opportunities for them to have a voice and support them in raising awareness of the issues that affect their life. We are seeking young people’s participation and co-production in all activities we develop to support their needs. The role of Youth Engagement Officer will be to engage with young people across the UK, to ensure that they have the opportunities and support to shape and influence Allergy UK’s programmes and activities for young people living with allergy.

The Youth & Community Engagement Officer will engage with children and young people across the UK to ensure they are meaningfully involved and supported to influence Allergy UK’s services, campaigns and resources. This includes creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people and parents and carers feel listened to and empowered to share their experiences.

The successful individual will develop youth opportunities that build confidence, skills and life chances, while supporting children and young people living with allergy to overcome the social, emotional and practical barriers they may face. A key part of the role will be working collaboratively with parents and carers to ensure their voice inform decision making and design.

As a Youth & Community Engagement Officer, you will have experience of working positively with children, young people and families, and have a proactive, organised and confident approach.

Strong organisation skills and initiative are essential as you will be the lead Allergy UK’s youth provision.

You will coordinate a range of activities on-line and in-person engagement sessions, blogs, podcasts, learning opportunities and digital activities all rooted in co-production principles. You will work as part of a wider team to engage children, young people and parents and carers, to amplify unheard voices and stories, and help drive positive change for families living with allergy.

The post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund until September 2028. As a grant- funded role, the postholder will be responsible for the effective delivery, monitoring and evaluation of agreed grant outcome and KPI’s, ensuring full compliance with funder requirements and reporting deadlines.

Role Summary 

The Programme Officer UK will be instrumental in providing administrative support for the successful delivery of our three programme strands across the UK. Reporting to the Joint Head of Programmes (Nations Lead), this role ensures the smooth and efficient running of projects by managing key organisational tasks, providing high quality customer service and supporting specific activities including data driven targeted work. Working closely with Programme Leads, Programme Coordinators and the wider team, the Programme Officer UK will play a vital role in maintaining seamless administration activities, contributing to the successful delivery and impact of our programmes.

Role Purpose

The Education Trainer supports the Education Manager in the design and delivery of specialist, evidence-informed trainings programmes for education professionals equipping them to support bereaved children, young people, adults and communities.

• At least three years’ recent experience (in the past six years) of delivering training to professionals
• At least three years’ recent experience of working with children, young people and families in a health, social care, youth, community or education setting
• Experience of planning and designing training programmes
• Experience of liaising with and working alongside organisations that support children and young people
• Experience of working with vulnerable communities
• Experience of delivering training using a digital platform
• Demonstrable experience of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and an ability to practise in a way that promotes this
• Experience of working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals

Desirable

• Experience of working within a bereavement, palliative care of mental health setting
• Experienced in using outcome measures to evaluate practice

Knowledge and Understanding

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of bereavement, grief, loss, trauma, and their psychological and developmental impact on children, young people, parents and families
• Knowledge of current research, theories, national frameworks, and NICE guidance related to bereavement and children’s mental health
• Empathetic, compassionate, and youth driven approach
• Proven ability to design, deliver and adapt bereavement training effectively through digital platforms, maintaining engagement, safety and impact
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with stakeholders while maintaining professional boundaries at all times
• Consulting mindset with the ability to quickly assimilate information and to translate this into potential solutions and ways of working

First Stage Screening Interviews

You may be asked to attend a 10-minute Screening Interview on MS Teams with the Hiring Managers for the vacancy, to assess your suitability for the role. During the interview, you will be asked two skills-based questions.

Second Stage Interviews

If you are progressed to a second stage interview, you will be invited to attend a 1-hour formal interview on MS Teams with the Hiring Managers for the role. It is our policy to share the role-specific interview questions with applicants ahead of the interview, to aid their preparation. You may also be asked to complete an interview task, which will also be shared with you in advance.

Youth Team Forum Discussion

For roles in our Bereavement Services Team, we will invite those applicants selected for interview along to a discussion forum with members of our Youth Team. This session is held remotely and lasts approximately 20 minutes. The discussion topic will be shared with you in advance of the session.
