About the role
Advisors will provide energy advice and raise awareness of domestic retrofit, supporting increased retrofit awareness and activity as well as working alongside staff within Local Authorities to develop and deliver projects to engage our communities and stimulate retrofit activity across the region. Energy and Retrofit Advisors will work closely with Groundwork Green Doctors supporting households suffering from fuel poverty and referring them into more specialist support where needed.
This role requires a dynamic and dedicated person who can think on their feet, someone with a caring nature who has a strong desire for helping people and is passionate about making a difference. You will need to be highly organised and adaptable as no two days will be the same.
As Groundwork’s Greener Living team grows, this role offers potential for extension and progression toward a career in Energy and Retrofit Assessment.
This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Capital Campaign Lead – Major Gifts
Location: Cambridge, Melbourn, or Norwich / Hybrid Working*

As Capital Campaign Lead for Major Gifts, you will work with the Head of Philanthropy and Capital Appeals, and colleagues in the Philanthropy Team and across EAAA, to secure transformational campaign gifts.
You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, making compelling face-to-face asks, and supporting the Campaign Committee and senior staff to solicit the all-important lead campaign gifts.
You will work with colleagues, including clinical crews and pilots, to devise and deliver unique and personalised stewardship plans, ensuring that donors and prospects are inspired to support the campaign and to continue supporting our work long into the future.
You will also be instrumental in building the prospect pipeline, contributing to prospecting strategy meetings and conducting research to uncover new potential avenues of support to develop.
With previous experience within the fundraising sector, you will have a proven track record in supporting the solicitation of gifts of £15,000+. You will have experience of managing projects with multiple stakeholders, forecasting, planning, and setting KPIs, and working with CRM systems.

North Bristol & South Gloucestershire (NBSG) Foodbank has operated for 12 years, providing emergency food parcels to people in crisis in the local community. Recently, we have shifted our focus to go beyond food and try to tackle the root causes of food insecurity. One goal of our new strategy is to change minds, change policy and create empathy about poverty. The Campaign Coordinator is responsible for working towards this goal by delivering the Trussell Trust’s (TT) influencing and mobilising work during the General Election (GE). You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in the Bristol & South Gloucestershire area. Campaign Coordinators implement TT’s national GE strategy, by using Organising techniques to put pressure on Prospective Parliamentary Candidates (PPCs) in each Combined Local Authority.
You will lead local community teams of people who support ending the need for food banks, to secure commitments from your PPCs to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’
This role is funded by TT as part of their GE strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will serve as the link between NBSG Foodbank and the Mobilisation team at TT, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.

Roles & Responsibilities:

To build trusted relationships with food banks during (pre and post) UK General Election. You will hold 121 conversations with each food bank in the Bristol & South Gloucestershire area and ensure there is clear communication between the food banks.

To support teams of community volunteers. You will have 121’s with: food bank staff, volunteers, partner organisations and stakeholders in each community to develop community bases for your campaign work.

To lead effective door-knocking teams in your community. You will door knock with your community campaign team to drum up support for the campaign, provide members of the public literature on food bank use in their local community, and invite people to their local hustings.

To help each of your community campaign teams organise a local hustings. You will ensure that your community campaign teams: attend national TT webinars, receive national guidance on how to approach PPCs, understand the TT legal GE guidance, understand the logistics of organising a hustings, ensure that the hustings is as accessible as possible and ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard through the hustings.

To develop good relationships with local press and media outlets. You will work alongside National TT colleagues to find key press and media contacts in your area, ensuring your community campaign teams get coverage for their hard work.

To deliver the local campaigning strategy working with food bank staff, volunteers and clients.

ABOUT THE ROLE
EVAW’s communications officer will help inform the public and media stakeholders about violence against women and girls (VAWG), influence narratives about this abuse and inspire change.
Responsibilities include growing our online presence and media profile, creating engaging (audio)visual content and writing accessible and informative press releases, web pieces, social media posts and more.
The postholder will have an eye for design and a finger on the pulse of current trends, with strong written skills, a commitment to accessibility, and an understanding of social change and the UK’s media landscape.
You are likely to have some experience in a communications, media or campaigns context, working on VAWG or another human rights/equalities issue, and will be seeking an opportunity to work in a highly impactful, agile and dynamic feminist organisation.

About you:

Role Summary

Activities in the acquisition portfolio are diverse; from developing the donor’s online user journey to delivering motivational training to fundraisers across the country, your campaigns will drive income and attract new, engaged supporters to the charity.
As well as running the day-to-day campaign activity, the post holder will be responsible for compiling regular reports, across a range of financial and non-financial KPIs. Alongside this, they will ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice is top of the agenda.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Campaign Management
· Plan, manage and deliver successful campaigns across a range of channels including face-to-face, digital and print.
· Successful management of fundraising agencies and suppliers; ensuring relationships are effective and productive.
· Deliver motivational fundraiser training and develop engaging fundraiser materials with agency stakeholders to ensure high-quality fundraising.
· Ensure compliance and adherence to regulation and codes of practice is considered in all campaign activities, to include mystery shopping and call listening.
· Work closely with Data and Digital teams to ensure effective processes are worked to and full campaign evaluation is possible.
· Donation page monitoring, reporting and development, to include looking at ways in which to improve the donor’s online user journey.
· Continuous improvement through test and learn principles across all activities.
· Integration of campaigns across the charity to drive maximum value.
· Development of compelling communications and materials to support all activities.
Planning and Budgeting
· KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels.
· Live programme optimisation to ensure targets are met.
· Input to annual planning and development of individual giving campaigns.
· Assist Direct Marketing Manager with compilation of detailed income and expenditure campaign budgets.
· Work with Direct Marketing Manager in developing the Acquisition programme and strategy.
· Input to monthly forecasting and regular reporting across a range of financial and non-financial KPI’s.
Finance and Reporting
· Ensure daily campaign tracking and reporting.
· Routine end of campaign reviews and analysis.
· Ongoing reporting on long-term success measures such as attrition and ROI.
· Invoice reconciliation and processing for timely payment.
· Non-financial KPI trend reporting - such as opt-in rates and quality scoring.

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

As a Network Coordinator, you will help bring together groups, organisations and other stakeholders to drive forward campaigns to end north sea oil and gas extraction and secure a just transition for workers and communities. You will play a key role in strengthening the movement, through helping to convene highly impactful campaigning coalitions and networks, seeding and supporting campaign interventions and offering expert support & advice.
About us
Uplift uses research, campaigning, and advocacy to support a just transition away from fossil fuels in the UK on a timeline that is commensurate with a safe climate. We are looking for a Network Coordinator to help drive forward our network building and public campaigning activities across Scotland, and the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join Uplift at a critical time ahead of a general election and help strengthen the movement away from oil and gas in the UK and towards a just transition for workers and communities.
The role
If you’re passionate about climate justice, especially holding the UK government to account and have a coalition and movement mindset - valuing the importance of movement coordination and generosity, then this role could be perfect for you. You will need a strong understanding of the movement ecology in the UK, especially in Scotland, and understand the unique role different actors play in bringing about change.
Based in Scotland and with a good understanding of the Scottish movement ecology, you will be able to map and bring together groups, organisations, stakeholder and constituents to campaign on fossil fuels. You will strengthen partnerships and scope new allies whilst helping to drive forward campaigning interventions and mobilising groups around key moments throughout 2024 and beyond. You will work closely with key campaigning organisations in Scotland and internally with Uplifts Campaigns and Movement Building team to support network building activities across the UK.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, groups and organisations, across Scotland, and the rest of the UK, including with key allies campaigning to end oil and gas extraction.
- Coordinate network building and coalition activities to help strengthen the network of groups organising around a phase out of fossil fuels in the UK.
- Provide campaigning support and advice to groups wanting to take action on north sea oil and gas expansion and a just transition.
- Develop campaign resources and network communications in collaboration with key partners and networks.
- Help design and deliver mobilisations and actions across Scotland and support the execution of campaign strategies and interventions in collaboration with partners.
- Be the first point of contact for groups and organisations in Scotland - holding the central coordination function for Uplift.
- Facilitate spaces for groups to come together and coordinate timely and effective communications with groups.
- Work with the Campaigns and Movement Building team to help strengthen the networks of groups taking action on fossil fuel campaigns across the UK - particularly during nationwide mobilisations or campaign moments.
- Be an active member of the Campaigns and Movement building team - participating in and helping to shape campaign and network strategies whilst contributing to a healthy team and organisational culture.
- Represent Uplift externally at events, coalition meetings and network gatherings. Carry out media spokesperson activities where appropriate.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a similar or related role.
- Be based in Scotland and have a good working knowledge of the wider movement ecology in Scotland.
- A track record of guiding and supporting effective campaigning coalitions.
- A good understanding of campaign strategy and an ability to know when to apply a range of tactics based on target, audience and the campaign cycle.
- Previous experience of movement building, including an understanding of the principles of mobilising and organising and an appreciation of the role different actors (the grassroots, NGOs, unions etc) play in social change.
- A strong commitment to Uplift’s mission and core values of equity and climate justice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong, trusting relationships with a variety of groups and organisations, as well as with colleagues (through written communications, online calls and in-person gatherings).

Role Summary
As the Director of Research and Public Affairs you lead a team working across the full range of research work (including commissioning, grant-making and in-house research) and public affairs work (including policy analysis, advocacy work and mobilising our activists). You also contribute to the charity’s strategies, leadership and governance as a member of the Executive Team. Ultimately, your role is to generate new knowledge; and communicate knowledge, ideas and emotions to change hearts and minds, creating tangible reductions in alcohol harm across the UK.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership, strategy & planning
1. Lead the research and public affairs functions at Alcohol Change UK.
2. Produce and deliver plans across our research and public affairs work programmes that are ambitious for change (impact), realistic given our resources, and consistent with our strategy, our other work programmes, and our values.
3. Set budgets, tightly control costs and identify opportunities for making savings, growing income and making the case for investment.
4. Appropriately monitor and evaluate our research and public affairs work with a view to knowing, growing and showing the impact we make.
Research
5. Work closely with the CEO, Policy and Research Manager, R&P sub-committee and Wales Office to determine and oversee the charity’s programme of commissioned research, research grants, and in-house research.
6. Ensure that all research is designed with impact-in-mind and, once complete, that it delivers on that impact through active and ongoing communication of the findings to the right audiences with the right messages through the right channels.
7. Lead the research function to be the central hub for the charity on the topic of alcohol harm and its solutions, staying on top of new research.
8. Influence the research spending of other agencies (e.g. NIHR) with a view to maximising funding into alcohol research in general.
Public Affairs
9. Lead and manage the charity’s public affairs activity, deploying the CEO, Research & Policy Officer and other staff as a team.
10. Lead our work with external alliances, such as the Alcohol Health Alliance and the Alcohol and Families Alliance, and on the APPG on Alcohol Harm.
11. Develop excellent relationships with Parliamentarians, civil servants, charities and other important institutional actors in our field.
12. Build Campaigner journeys for our engagement audience to best mobilise them to help us with our influencing work.
13. Lead on the commissioning and management of any external public affairs agencies, parliamentary monitoring services and similar suppliers.
14. Ensure our policy positions are kept up-to-date, based on emerging evidence and contemporary thinking, and consistent with our principles.
15. Work closely with the Director of Engagement and Fundraising to effectively mobilise and deploy our activists, Community Champions and other supporters so they (i) make a difference, (ii) become better informed over time, and (iii) remain motivated to campaign for our cause.
