Working 35 hours per week, on a permanent basis you will be based remotely, linking with colleagues both online and in person. In return you will receive a salary of up to £51,301.33 per annum plus excellent benefits, as well as a car allowance of £3,600 per annum, plus mileage.

As this is a National role, there will be frequent travel required within the UK, with regular overnight stays. In a typical week you may spend approximately 3 days working from home and the remaining 2 days on site visits or travelling (subject to location).

Since 1927, Cats Protection has helped thousands of cats each year, across the UK. As a community of volunteers, employees, supporters and partners, we’ve improved the lives of millions of cats and transformed the way millions of people see and care for cats.

You will be a key member of a small construction team responsible for delivering a portfolio of construction projects across the Cats Protection estate ranging from pen replacement projects and refurbishment of existing sites, through to new-build Cat Centres.

Responsibilities of our Capital Project Manager:

The Capital Project Manager will work collaboratively to inform building design and manage project delivery from conception to completion. You will ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with clients’ needs, regulations, and the agreed specification, whilst seeking to make improvements in environmental sustainability. The post-holder will manage multiple projects in the range of £350K to £6m and deploy a full range of skills in project management methodology including programme planning, reporting, budget management, risk management and cashflow forecasting.  You will work with other team members to continuously improve project communication, delivery, processes, quality and capture project outcomes.

What we’re looking for in our Capital Project Manager:

- Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience (at least 5 years) in a recognised project management, surveying or building discipline

- Experience delivering capital projects with a value of £1-3 million

- Experience managing, leading and influencing multi-disciplinary project teams, contractors and specialist consultants

- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards

- Excellent IT skills for example, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Project and MS Teams

- Self-starter, works well alone on own initiative and as part of a team

- Ability to research, write and present robust and comprehensive business cases

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels

- A full, valid UK driving license

What we can offer you:

  • salary of up to £51,301.33 per annum plus excellent benefits
  • generous annual leave entitlement
  • life assurance scheme
  • range of health benefits including private healthcare
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • and more

Through our values and behaviours we help people see the world through cats’ eyes. Together we can make a difference.
