SMK is at an exciting moment in its history with a newly launched strategy Change is Possible 2026 -2028, a recently appointed permanent Chief Executive this year and a new Chair. The refreshed vision and mission of SMK is both ambitious and needed in our drive to support campaigners across the UK.
Digital engagement is evolving, and fast, so that is why we’re looking for a creative, experienced, strategic and data-driven Digital Marketing Manager to lead, develop and grow our digital presence across multiple channels. You'll manage and support our digital ecosystem, including social media, website development, email communications and digital advertising, ensuring every channel delivers measurable results.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications and the Training and Consultancy team, you'll be responsible for creating engaging digital content that inspire audiences, strengthens our brand and supports the communications and digital function at SMK. Importantly, you have the experience to successfully promote and drive sales of our training programmes through digital marketing techniques to optimise performance.

Job description
Marketing
- Social media management including the creation of a data led strategy and implementation plan for SMK’s channels.
- Manage the planning, creation, and scheduling of multiple marketing projects, ensuring the ‘SMK voice’ through tone and brand is implemented across digital channels.
- Create the vision for the annual SMK National Campaigner Awards social media approach and manage the roll out.
- Write compelling and impactful content for SMK’s digital channels.
- Create graphics and video content for digital channels using Canva.
- Manage paid digital ads (LinkedIn, Google Ads).
- Support the crafting and implementation of email marketing via Mailchimp including audience segmentation.
- Support the audience development strategy including research and data management.
- Identifies opportunities to increase sales (bookings for training/ events), growing reach and engagement.
- Support the development and implementation of a content strategy.
Website
- Support the Head of Marketing and Communications with the relaunch of a new website in 2026/2027.
- Lead on how AI is affecting search (SEO/GEO) and what SMK’s website needs.
- Monitor and translate website performance using analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
- Implement and manage on-page SEO/ GEO best practices (keywords, metadata, content optimisation).
- Identify opportunities to improve search visibility and organic traffic.
Data, Insight & Reporting
- Monitor, analyse, and report on digital marketing performance.
- Use data to continuously optimise marketing activity.
- Provide insights into audience behaviour and trends.
- Database management, including cleaning and updating records.
- Support the implementation and management of the CRM (Salesforce).
- Undertake relevant training when required.
Other
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post.

Job Location: Belfast (Hybrid)
Staff are expected to come into their base office once per week. Staff are also able to flex their start and finish times between the hours of 7am to 7pm daily.

About the role
The Direct Marketing Executive will play a key role in delivering high-quality direct marketing campaigns that drive income and engagement from individual supporters. Focusing on cash appeals and alternative gifts, this role will manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of multi-channel campaigns that inspire supporters to give, strengthen loyalty, and maximise return on investment.
About You
You are organised, proactive and experienced in delivering successful direct marketing campaigns across channels such as direct mail and email. With excellent planning and project management skills, you can manage multiple campaigns from concept to completion, working collaboratively with colleagues, agencies and suppliers to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
You have strong analytical and numerical skills, enjoy working with data and databases, and use campaign insights to drive continuous improvement. Comfortable using Excel, Word and CRM or database systems, you're confident managing campaign data, monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve supporter engagement and response.
An excellent communicator, you have strong written skills and experience writing and editing compelling email and campaign copy. You build positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, working collaboratively while confidently managing priorities, negotiating deadlines and solving problems as they arise.
You're highly organised, able to manage a varied workload and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. You take ownership of your work, bring fresh ideas and a creative approach to campaign development, and are always looking for ways to improve results.
Ideally, you'll have experience within the charity sector, individual giving or supporter fundraising, along with an understanding of digital marketing, donor care and audience segmentation. Most importantly, you're motivated by the opportunity to create meaningful campaigns that inspire supporters and make a lasting impact.

Conditions of Appointment:
Pay band: GB4
Belfast: £30,075 - £33,416, based on full time hours (35 hours per week)
New employees typically start at the beginning of their pay band.

The Senior Seafood Program Manager works closely with our funder and implementation partner,
Humanity United, acting as a strategic thought partner to advance our shared goals. The role will hold overall responsibility for management of the portf
olio including program and strategy development, budgeting, monitoring and reporting and grant-making.
The role holder will represent the Freedom Fund at high level sectoral events; engaging with a wide range of stakeholders related to the program, building connections that advance our shared priorities.
This role is a fixed term contract, aligned to our next phase of funding partnership with Humanity United for the Asia Pacific seafood program. The position is expected to commence in September 2026 and continue through to December 2028, with the possibility of an extension.
