Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard.  We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society.  We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time.  Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Member Engagement

• Design and implement a community engagement strategy, this is to nurture positive relationships and information flow with different groups including Members, Tenants, Start-Ups, Community Groups and Community Organisations.
• In partnership with the Events Manager, activate an events programme, which creates opportunities for Member Organisations and other community groups and stakeholders to contribute to the Trust’s broader activities and development plans.

Key Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead on the instigation, scheduling and management of the Trust’s relationship with Community Forums and the relevant convenors.
• Be responsible for effective stakeholder management and mapping, to include local residents, local businesses and local voluntary sector groups to ensure maximum reach.
• Attend community meetings on behalf of Westway Trust to listen and engage in conversations about local issues and update them on the Trust’s activities. These meetings are primarily in the evening.

Institutional Racism Report

• Playing a key role with stakeholder groups on dissemination on the Tutu Foundation Report and the progress as the Trust moves towards eliminating ‘institutional racism’.

Grants & Community Investments

• Support the grants and impact manager in engagement with applicants of Westway Trust’s grants programmes, nurturing positive relationships with successful and unsuccessful applicants.

General Duties

• Support the development of new, refurbished, and existing spaces with innovative community development projects and events.
• In time you may be required to line manage at least one member of staff.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Experience of designing and delivering high quality, proactive and impactful community engagement activities, with a track record of creating innovative solutions to engage with people, particularly seldom heard community groups.
• Clear evidence of sound judgement and of an ability to evaluate options to make appropriate recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ideally with experience of writing Board/Committee papers with the ability to present persuasive arguments to senior stakeholders in a formal setting.
• At least 1 year experience of line management.

The Preclinical Research Manager will be responsible for overseeing the generation of research related content for the CP research team and interacting with the research community to provide support and advice in their projects. 

The Main Purpose of the Role:

The Preclinical Research Manager will be responsible for overseeing the generation of research related content for the CP research team and interacting with the research community to provide support and advice in their projects (either being considered or funded by the charity).

Key Responsibilities:

• Working closely with the Director of Research whose main responsibility is the implementation and delivery of the Cure Parkinson’s research strategy.
• Generating Parkinson’s research-related material for a scientific audience, including:
  • Research reports for publication in scientific journals (such as our annual Drug Development Pipeline report – McFarthing et al, 2023).
  • Long format scientific justifications for CP funded clinical trials for the CP website.
  • Short format lay summaries of new research (with the Research Liaison and Research Communication Officers) for various CP platforms.
  • Preparation of posters of CP research for presentation at conferences (with the Research Comms Officer).
  • Facilitating the Research Liaison Officer’s development within this area.
• Regular monitoring of publications and developments in Parkinson’s research, communicating these topics internally to help generate relevant material for the CP website (with the Research Comms Officer and Marketing team).
• Supporting the Director of Research with the scoping, drafting and shaping of drug dossiers for consideration at the annual international Linked Clinical Trials (iLCT) meeting.
• Working with the Director of Research and the Research Manager to develop and coordinate the annual iLCT Pipeline Research Acceleration Funding Programme call.
• Working with the Director of Research and the Research Manager to scope and develop a researcher portal for sharing non-confidential iLCT material.
• Leading on the development of scientific events, workshops and meetings (such as CP’s quarterly webinar series with the Journal of Parkinson’s Disease).

Person Specifications:

The successful applicant will need to work closely with other sections of the charity to understand and support the research needs of the organisation as a whole. For their primary function, they will ideally have:

• A PhD with experience in preclinical research related to Parkinson’s or neurodegeneration.
• A strong understanding of Parkinson’s disease biology and the current preclinical models (in vitro and in vivo) used to investigate it.
• Knowledge of the broader Parkinson’s research field, such as genetics, potential therapeutic targets and drugs currently in development.
• Significant experience in the management and leadership of group projects.
• Experience in the setting up and management of meeting and events.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in presenting at both academic meetings and to general audiences, across in-person and virtual formats.
• Solid problem solving skills across varied settings.
• Experience of line management or equivalent.
• High motivation and willingness to embrace change.

The role

As Events Fundraiser you will manage and develop myaware’s events portfolio and support in aid of fundraisers. You will also be responsible for managing fundraising volunteers and volunteer fundraising groups. The purpose of the role is to build long-lasting partnerships with supporters and volunteers to achieve maximum events fundraising income for myaware. There will be a requirement to manage records and relationships through the CRM system in line with GDPR.

The Events Fundraiser will be home based within the UK and will work in co-operation with all myaware colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising and awareness campaigns. There may be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year experience gained in a fundraising role within a charity, with demonstrable experience of income growth and the ability to meet and exceed income targets via delivery of successful fundraising events. Experience of working with and managing volunteers is essential.

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the condition.

About the role

The Media Manager will be responsible for taking charge of the ITF’s global media strategy. We are looking for an experienced media relations professional who can further enhance and solidify ITF’s reputation as the global voice of transport workers and as an authoritative voice in the transport industry and global trade union movement.

We’re seeking an experienced media relations manager, preferably with international experience and with established media relationships amongst leading international media.

This hands-on role, will lead on developing, implementing and advancing ITF’s global media relations strategy. The Media Manager will also provide strategic advice and coaching to ITF’s leadership on proactive and reactive media strategies, as well as strategic guidance and support for other members of the ITF’s multi-disciplinary communications team.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. About You

Responsibilities:

HR & Operations

● Manage Coney’s operations, resources and materials to ensure our activities and processes are high-quality, fit for purpose and well-managed.

● Support the Directors to engender positive staff relations and good communication throughout the company, those representing it and its networks.

● Oversee Coney’s remote-working and office systems, including IT systems, schedules and other resources, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and cost-effective.

Financial

● Manage Coney’s day-to-day financial systems, including making bank payments and managing invoices receivable, supported by the Marketing & Admin Officer.

● Reconcile Coney’s bank accounts and input all financial activity into Quickbooks (including income & expenditure, credit cards, expenses, invoices payable, payments received) against the correct budget lines. 

● Run payroll (including sending payslips and other pay documents, scheduling salary payments and reporting to HMRC) and ensure pensions, PAYE taxes and National Insurance are calculated and paid on time.

● Create and submit quarterly VAT returns using Quickbooks

Stakeholder Management & Fundraising

● Work alongside the JCEOs to maintain high level contact and dialogue with Coney’s key stakeholders.

● Manage Coney’s Friends scheme and support effective communication with funders.

● Alongside the rest of the core team, identify opportunities for fundraising, commercial projects and consultancy, building relationships and contributing to funding proposals as required.

Marketing & Communications

● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer and Executive Programme Director / JCEO to prepare and execute a marketing and communications plan – strategically positioning Coney’s work across communities and sectors.

● Support the Marketing & Admin Officer to ensure regular communication with Coney networks (newsletters, social media and other relationships) and produce effective communication and ticketing systems for events and projects as required.

Job Purpose: To organise the planning and implementation of Programmes & Events and maintain a high level of accuracy and detail throughout.

The role:
Arrhythmia Alliance Group is recruiting a Projects & Events Co-ordinator on a full-time, permanent, remote basis. Your skills will be essential in strengthening the charities profile through programmes and event planning and coordination.
You will support the organisation with its’ programme and events portfolio by developing healthy, professional, relationships at all levels. You will also showcase initiatives taken and their key impact in making a real difference in people's lives.

Main responsibilities:

- Plan, coordinate, attend and execute a range of charity programmes and events.

- Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, contract negotiations, transportation, accommodation, and catering arrangements.

- Agenda and room allocations

- Liaise effectively with various vendors and service providers.

- Develop and manage budgets, providing financial reports and forecasts to senior management.

- Evaluate programme and event success through feedback collection and analysis, making necessary recommendations for improvements.

- Promote the organisation's brand image, values, and initiatives.
Ensure all events are compliant with relevant standards and other regulations.

- Diary management for all programmes and events

- Support in production of relevant presentations and be able to present on the Charity group whilst attending events online or in person.

- Take payments over the phone as and when required.

- Attend physical meetings and events as and when needed to provide support.

- Support the production of recording for Healthcare Professionals, patients and care givers for educational webinars & events using but not limited to Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Essential requirements:

- Experience working with vendors and negotiating venue contracts.

- Excellent organisational and project management skills.

- Ability to manage budgets and financial planning for events.

- Ability to work under pressure and handle last-minute changes.

- Ability to engage with wide range of stakeholders including healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, sponsors and exhibitors.

Duties and key responsibilities

Policy

• Work with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to support and deliver Sarcoma UK’s policy development.
• Support the development of evidence-based policy positions that are representative of the external healthcare environment, working alongside colleagues, clinical and healthcare professionals.
• Produce a range of high-quality, evidence-based documents including briefings, reports, and consultation responses.
• Support the Policy and Public Affairs Manager to respond to government and other sarcoma-focused or cancer consultations.
• Provide the Secretariat to Sarcoma UK’s Early Diagnosis Expert Steering Group and support their work to raise the profile of issues preventing early and accurate diagnosis of sarcoma.
• Work with other teams in the organisation to articulate and deliver communications for supporter audiences around policy work.

Public Affairs

• Develop relationships with key influencers, including parliamentarians, civil servants, the NHS and other stakeholders.
• Work with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Communications Team to shape campaigns which are evidence based and solution-focused.
• Organise events, meetings and briefings to ensure our policy messages are communicated to external stakeholders and influencers.
• Ensure our supporters are regularly updated about our public affairs and campaigning activity using communication channels and involve them where appropriate.
• To support the Communications Team to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of sarcoma, and to publicise the work of the charity.

External relationships

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with sarcoma clinicians and people personally affected by sarcoma, including members of Sarcoma UK’s Early Diagnosis Expert Steering Group.
• Represent Sarcoma UK at external Policy and Public Affairs events.

General

• Support the integration of the Policy and Public Affairs programme across the charity as a whole.
• Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
• The role will require occasional travel to meeting and events. Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.
• The post holder will be working in a developing environment, and they will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

As Fundraising Manager, you will support the team to develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with supporters, managing a small portfolio of your own donors and leading on the day-to-day contact with corporate partners and event sponsors.

As Fundraising Manager, you will:

• Manage a pool of HNWIs, corporate partners and event sponsors focusing on delivering compelling stewardship plans to deepen relationships with supporters and secure income
• Proactively identify and research major donor and corporate prospects, and develop individual cultivation plans to move along the pipeline
• Create high-quality and innovative pitches and presentations to engage prospective donors/partners
• Manage relationships with event sponsors ensuring key deliverables are met
• Support the delivery of Elephant Family’s renowned events, primarily focusing on managing the relationships with guests, event partners, and sponsors
• Work with the Programmes team to identify funding opportunities aligned to donors’ interests and current funding needs
• Take ownership of the database (Salesforce) ensuring donor records are up-to-date to allow for effective supporter communications and engagement

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of managing relationships with HNWIs and corporate partners at the 5-figure+ level
• Proven experience of soliciting and securing support from prospects
• Strong writing skills with ability to create engaging content, proposals, pitches, presentations, reports and other donor communications
• Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and proven ability to manage a varied workload
• Strong communication and networking skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders of all levels (SMT, Trustees, senior volunteers, donors, partners, colleagues)
