Job description

Starting salary:£25,000 (or pro rata, accordingly to hours worked)

Hours of Work:Flexible, between 28 and 37 hours per week

Length of contract: Permanent

Mary Frances Trust (MFT), a mental health charity based in Surrey, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven Community Fundraiser.

This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and creative person to develop further their fundraising skills. The role is relatively flexible and offers additional support from an experienced Fundraiser.

Job Purpose:

  • Maximising income generation through community fundraising and delivering the MFT fundraising strategy.

  • Meeting financial targets and assisting in the charity’s growth.

  • Acting as an effective ambassador for Mary Frances Trust with consideration to the values and objectives of the charity.


  • Development and implementation of Mary Frances Trust’s fundraising strategy.

  • Building relationships with donors, companies and partners – making presentations, updating on progress and milestones.

  • Devising and organising fundraising activities and events.

  • Responsibility of using innovative ways to gain and retain donors and regular supporters.

  • Managing and developing corporate partnerships.

  • Managing information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database.

  • Writing tailored grant applications to charitable trusts and foundations – with support from other members of the team.

  • Creating new ideas for fundraising and identify suitable funding initiatives.

  • Participating in the day to day work of the organisation – such as reporting, attending team and Board meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach to general administrative and support tasks.

  • Presenting and reporting to the Senior Management Team and Board, on Targets set by the organisation.

  • Representing the work of Mary Frances Trust at events to members of the public and supporters, where necessary delivering presentations

  • Participating in staff appraisals and appropriate training for the role

  • Working in accordance with Mary Frances Trust’s policies and procedures

  • Working with the Volunteer Co-Ordinator to recruit fundraising volunteers.
