Joe’s Buddy Line is seeking a new organisational leader; a hands-on Chief Officer who can build on the great work already undertaken by our Trustees to deliver high impact mental health support services to schools and Universities; currently in London and the South East, but with ambitions to grow across England and Wales.
Joe Lyons was a caring son, brother, a wonderful friend and a talented, award-winning Radio Producer. Known as “Producer Joe”, he became Senior Producer of the Roman Kemp Breakfast Show at Capital Radio. Very sadly in August 2020 Joe passed away in totally unexpected circumstances at just 31 years of age.
During Joe’s life he brought a cheeky spirit and constant laughter to all those that met him. His selflessness and commitment to helping others touched so many, and in loving memory and as a legacy to Joe, his friends and family set up Joe's Buddy Line in January 2021.
We are now looking for a resilient, driven and inspirational individual to provide energy, strategic vision and operational management for our small and growing charity.
The successful candidate will bring a track record of effectively overseeing the day to day service delivery for a small charity, prudent financial management and an innovative approach to source and secure new opportunities for the Charity.
It is essential that the post holder must also be able to help us transition from a predominantly volunteer led charity to a vibrant fully sustainable organisation with salaried staff.
If you are dynamic and inspiring Chief Officer then we’d love you to join us to help achieve our ambitious aims; it’s a fantastic opportunity to make a huge impact on children and young people’s mental health.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to chat informally with one of our Trustees before applying.
Application deadline: Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis until a suitable candidate is chosen.
Interviews: Interviews will be conducted at our Office in Leatherhead, Surrey at the earliest opportunity.
To apply, Please email your CV; including contact details for 2 referees; with a cover letter which clearly details your suitability for the role.
Joe’s Buddy Line is committed to developing, maintaining and encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society, and for each trustee, employee and volunteer to feel respected and able to give their best.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.

Pratham is one of the largest and most respected education charities in India. We developed a model that can teach a child to read and do basic maths in as little as 30 days for £14. We also have preschool, vocational and women's education programmes.
We have strong support from the UK Indian diaspora and are in a period of significant growth that has seen us triple in size in three years; we now raise £1.5m a year and have an ambition to at least triple again. Our flagship fundraising event is our annual Gala; we will return to Raffles at the Old War Office this year on 8th November. The gala sponsorship pack is included with the job pack below. The evening consistently raises over £500k; this year, you will support the delivery of the Gala, but next year, you will lead it along with a calendar of cultivation and stewardship events that will help us grow partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations.
While you will work in a small, fully remote team day to day, you will be part of the global Pratham network. The team in India has over 6,000 staff, and they raise $28m locally. Pratham USA has 14 chapters and produces around 12 galas a year, which contributes to its $30m income; you can share the films and branding of their galas, meaning we can really stretch our budget to put on an outstanding event.
We are a small team, and whilst an events person is vital for our development if someone wanted to get involved in other fundraising streams, particularly corporate or major donors, we would be delighted to read about it in your application and discuss it at the interview or in a call before the interview—which are welcomed.
All current staff have visited India to see the programmes, and whilst we can't guarantee you a visit as we grow, it remains an ambition. We can offer a level of flexibility on hours, we'd consider someone four days a week, but flexibility and some extra (paid) days might be required around the gala time. Our Executive Director stops for 30 minutes at 3 to pick up his children from school, work patterns that suit you can be considered.
We share our interview questions in advance, welcome non-graduates, and strongly encourage applications from within Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities and underrepresented groups.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Over the last few years, New Horizon has been steadily growing in response to increased demand for our services. Our ambitious plans for 2024/25 include expanding our service offer and securing an additional site locally that will add much needed space for young people’s activities and office space. To enable us to achieve our plans in line with the organisation’s mission, we are committed to growing and improving our frontline and back-office functions. The Finance and Resources Manager role will add capacity to our Administration Team, creating a new deputy manager role to support the delivery of our expansion plans support and relieve increased demand. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and Resources by overseeing and further developing the administrative function of the organisation, and directly line manage a number of administrators. You should be exceptionally well organised, confident in communicating with trustees and senior managers, and passionate about delivering high quality services to young people who are unsafe or facing homelessness.
Starting salary: £37,024
Deadline to apply: 9am Thursday 27 June

Rethink Mental Illness is seeking a part-time Head of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances, to deliver strong collaborative operational leadership to the evolving VCFSE alliance programme in the London borough of Tower Hamlets.
Background
In 2019 NHS England set out a bold and radical redesign of community mental health services through the publication of the community mental health framework for adults and older adults. In response, Rethink Mental Illness published Communities that Care: a blueprint for supporting people severely affected by mental illness in their communities.
We believe that to really transform previously broken and fragmented systems of mental health support, communities and organisations must come together in the spirit of collaboration.
This cannot be delivered by any one organisation on their own. Supporting local systems to work more effectively together through partnerships and alliances is a key component of our five-year strategy.
The work of our Strategic Partnerships & Alliances Division is critical in achieving this objective. The division includes the local teams providing alliance leadership, participation, delivery and infrastructure support. We bring together expertise from across the charity - on co-production, community engagement, alliance building, infrastructure and corporate resources.
This specialist support interfaces with place-based partnership and alliance teams who are working with local VCFSE groups, charities, community organisations, citizens, NHS and social care, in places around England to transform community mental health services and build communities that care around people affected by mental illness.
Tower Hamlets VCFSE Alliance - the journey so far…..
For the past three years the development of a mental health VCFSE alliance in Tower Hamlets has been enabled by a grant Rethink Mental Illness received from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
This grant enabled Rethink to focus on supporting alliance development in four places in England, including Tower Hamlets. The position of Chief Operating Officer is an exciting new role within the charity. The last few years have seen Coram’s Fields grow both operationally and financially, and we now employ around 65 staff and in 2024/25 are expecting to turnover c.£2.4 million.
As our organisation and team has grown, so too has the need to strengthen our infrastructure and we are now looking for an experienced and skilled COO, to drive operational improvements across the key areas of HR, Finance and commercial.
Coram’s Fields prides itself on having a strong, values led culture, and one where our commitment to our staff and their development is matched by the commitment we bring to the children and young people we support every day. Building on this by developing and embedding high quality people management systems and creating a culture of best practice across all our teams will be a key part of your role.
Over recent years, we’ve been working hard to build our financial resilience and develop a more sustainable operating model, including further investment in our fundraising team. We’ve made significant progress, but we know there are plenty more opportunities to strengthen our work in this area. Modernising our financial systems and strengthening financial capabilities across our management team will be a focus of the role and you will relish the opportunity to impart your own financial knowledge and skills on those around you, to support the delivery of even better outcomes for the young people we serve.
The success of our financial model is underpinned by just under half our annual income coming from commercial revenue streams. You’ll bring a proven track record of maximising commercial income opportunities, a keen eye for spotting new ones, and the ability to cultivate these into financially rewarding ventures that support our overall sustainability and mission.
To be successful, you'll need to be an outstanding communicator, capable of building relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, from service managers on the ground, to our Trustees.
Our commitment to changing the lives of children and young people for the better is unrelenting and your reward in this role will be quite simple – to play an instrumental role in building the capacity of our team and the organisation to deliver even greater outcomes for the young people we support.

About us
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly skilled Training Development Manager to join our small, friendly and hard-working team.
We are Laurelle Brown Training and Consultancy (LBTC), an independent consultancy founded in 2017, as a response to the persistent challenges and discrimination faced by racialised children across the services and support systems they rely on. We collaborate with partners to strengthen equity, diversity and inclusion across complex systems for children.
We are a dynamic and busy consultancy, with 5 staff members, and a pool of associate consultants and trainers that support the delivery of our work. We do: (1) Learning and development, (2) Facilitation, (3) Change and transformation, and (4) Evidence and insight. Our team work remotely and attend team meetings in London (where the company is based) a couple of times a year, and deliver in-person services across the UK all year round.
A substantial proportion of our work focuses on racism, marginalisation and discrimination and as such we welcome applications from those with personal experience of these issues, and who are typically underrepresented in senior leadership roles. This includes individuals who identify as racially minoritised or from a Black and minoritised ethnic background.

Refuge’s work has never been more important. When the first safe house for women and children opened in Chiswick in 1971, domestic abuse was largely seen as being black eyes and broken bones, something which happened behind closed doors. Now, it is recognised that domestic abuse can take many forms and can be more complex and difficult to spot. It can include abuse via technology, economic abuse, coercive control, emotional abuse and sexual abuse.
Over the past two years, we have had some significant successes at Refuge. At our core, we are the largest single provider of specialist domestic abuse services for women and their children across the country. We run the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, the gateway to frontline services. Every two minutes, someone turns to Refuge for help. As well as our frontline services, we also advocate and campaign for policy and legislative change.
We are seeking a new CEO to advance the organisation's mission and impact. We are looking for a CEO for Refuge that is a visionary and strategic leader, who is passionate about ending domestic abuse and empowering survivors. Refuge is already a leading force in the sector, but we know we can do more to create positive change and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.
The new CEO will lead the development and delivery of the strategic plan for the organisation at a pivotal time in our history. Continuing to raise our external profile, they will develop and leverage strategic partnerships that further our mission as a feminist force for good. They will drive the organisation to long-term financial sustainability and relentlessly nurture a culture that is kind, inclusive, compassionate, open, empowering, bold and never shies away from the challenges ahead.
You will have experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within the not-for-profit sector, overseeing complex organisations. Experience in both leading and delivering substantial change is crucial. You will have a strong grasp of business planning principles and risk management, including service delivery risk. A proven track record of setting and achieving strategic and operational targets is essential.
Please note this post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
