About the role  
As Crisis’ Media and Artist Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health. You’ll also identify, build and nurture relationships with artists and influencers to secure their support for Crisis and our work, whether that be political campaigning, fundraising or our commercial and retail offering. 

Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. You’ll help create hard-hitting news stories and media hooks that engages our audiences and raises awareness of Crisis’ work. You’ll also work with our Artist Liaison Manager to utilise our high-profile supporters and ambassadors to inspire and raise awareness of our cause with key audiences and develop creative and engaging ways to amplify our media campaigns on social media. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build strong relationships with key journalists.   

Location: Based in London office (Working from home is an option in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working policy with a minimum of two days a week working in the office)

About you  
To be successful in this role you will have:  

• Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist.    

• Experience of generating engaging and impactful media and talent plans that secure stand out coverage across news, consumer, online and regional media.   

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write for a range of audiences and outlets including news, consumer, and trade.  

• Experience of working with high profile people (including influencers) and management teams.    

• Experience of working with and interviewing case studies, identifying and preparing stories for the media and empowering people to share their experience.

About the role

This is a great opportunity to work within the Stories team at Shelter, recruiting people from within relevant services and outside the organisation to share their experiences to support Shelter’s fundraising, media, services, campaigning, research and brand work. As well as making contact with people willing to share their stories, you’ll be able to listen to someone’s experience and write a summary of their story. The traineeship lasts 15 months and you will receive personalised training and support to help remove some of the barriers that may have prevented you from getting meaningful employment. Once your traineeship is complete, we will support you in securing further employment in the future.

About you

We are looking for people who have lived experience of homelessness/bad housing and overcoming personal challenges and who are passionate about using their own life experiences to help make positive change for others. Good communication skills and the ability to make people feel heard will also be essential. Basic computer skills, e.g. word processing, the internet and email would be useful, but support can be provided. Above all, we need people with a real desire to develop personally and learn new skills.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is the home of the Chelsea Pensioners (known as In-Pensioners). It has a rich history and provides supported accommodation as well as residential and nursing care for approx. 300 retired soldiers. An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital Chelsea where we are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Health & Wellbeing team in a new role as Tenancy & Contributions Officer.  

The Tenancy & Contributions Officer will lead on the delivery and continuing evolution of the tenancy agreement (known as the In-Pensioner Agreement). Part of the delivery of the agreement will be coordinating the process of setting and reviewing In-Pensioner’s personal financial contribution to the Royal Hospital. The role also requires the individual to support with benefit applications as required, as well as undertake other housing management related tasks on behalf of the organisation.

In addition, the role is also a core component of the recruitment process for new In-Pensioners being the point of first appeal should a candidate be unsuccessful in their application to join. The role is complex, but we have a vibrant multidisciplinary team that is there to help. This role will add tremendous additional value to how we develop and deliver our services.

Communications:     

• Develop, contribute to and implement impact-driven and strategic communications campaigns that build Kineara’s fundraising capacity and raise awareness of the issues

About the role

The Regional Communications Officer role is an exciting, varied position working with Emmaus communities located in the South East region of the UK to increase their profile and engage supporters.

You will work closely with the Emmaus communities in your patch to identify their communications needs and plan and deliver a mix of work to help achieve their goals. As part of a wider team, you will also share ideas and draw on each other’s experiences to maximise PR, digital and communications opportunities.

A typical working week within this role can include:

This is a part time position working four days per week (30 hours), Monday to Friday.

Within this role, you can be based at home or in an Emmaus community. Wherever you are based, maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is vitally important.  The current patch for this role is Emmaus Brighton & Hove, Emmaus Greenwich and Emmaus Dover. Regular travel to these three communities will be required (usually one community visit per week). Who are we looking for?

We require someone with a strong skillset and at least two years’ experience working in a busy communications, public relations or marketing role. Although not essential, knowledge and understanding of homelessness and the charity sector would also be an advantage.

Creativity and passion are a must. You will have a broad range of communications skills, love seeing your creative ideas come to life and keen to develop your skillset within a national homelessness charity.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Chief Executive, the post-holder will lead on all aspects of development, marketing and fundraising, and people/HR development; maintaining high level relationships with donors and prospective donors and maximising opportunities to secure new sources of income from individuals, companies and charitable trusts, as well as improving our internal comms.

They will demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop in order to surface and establish partnerships, lead funding bids, develop our people, and act as a key representative of the Centre to the outside world.

About the Role

As the Supporter Engagement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our engagement strategies to cultivate relationships with our valued Christian* supporters. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, you will lead initiatives to increase prayer, giving, and church engagement, aligning with our broader objectives. You will manage our Supporter Engagement Co-ordinator, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of our supporter-centric initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive supporter engagement strategy to bolster our supporter base and enhance engagement levels.
• Curate a tailored stewardship journey for major donors and legacy pledges, providing personalised communications and resources to foster continued support.
• Oversee the management of our supporter database/CRM, ensuring compliance with GDPR and all relevant legislation.
• Utilise data analytics to design targeted campaigns and initiatives aimed at expanding our supporter network across various channels and touchpoints.
• Lead church engagement efforts, forging and nurturing connections with local and national churches and networks.
• Collaborate with our Activities and Community Engagement (ACE) Facilitators to enhance engagement within our care homes and housing schemes.
• Drive regular prayer communications, fostering a culture of prayer support through various platforms including our online Prayer Wall.
• Organise and lead supporter-facing events such as exhibitions and conferences to facilitate meaningful interactions with existing and prospective supporters.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and share insights with internal teams to inform strategic decision-making.

About You

• Minimum of three years of experience in the charity or third sector.
• Proven track record in supporter engagement and database management.
• Good understanding of UK GDPR regulations.
• Familiarity with fundraising functions and project management.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Team player with a reliable and detail-oriented work ethic.
