You'll lead, oversee and implement ambitious plans, as set out in the new fundraising strategy and enabling us to fully capitalise on the opportunities presented over the next few years, with a focus on the development of a major donor strategy, growing our profile and supporting a high-performing Philanthropy team. Alongside this you will personally manage a portfolio of high value solicitations, resulting in 6- and 7-figure gifts.
You'll evaluate each income stream and develop plans aligned with fundraising strategy, ensuring these translate into deliverable objectives. You'll play a key role in the development of fundraising appeals, including large scale proposals and approaches, as well as developing creative and compelling funding applications to engage new supporters.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience of planning and implementing successful major donor fundraising programmes

- An understanding of trends and developments across the sector and demonstrable knowledge of best practice in major donors, trusts and foundations fundraising
- Experience of financial management of expenditure budgets including setting, accurate forecasting and achieving financial and non-financial targets

Primary location of role

Role overview:
F&BF will be delivering celebration events in 2026-2027 that are bigger and more ambitious than ever. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Partnerships Manager. Who we are looking for
Breakthrough T1D is the UK’s leading type 1 diabetes charity, dedicated to funding research, advocating for change, and supporting the T1D community. A year into our exciting rebrand from JDRF to Breakthrough T1D, we’re looking for a dynamic Community Events Officer to help us build on this momentum.
You will be an enthusiastic person with an eye for detail and the ability to plan, manage and deliver our community events programme. This role will work at the heart of a passionate team, who deliver support and information to people living with type 1 diabetes throughout their type 1 journey. Events are a key opportunity to connect those living with the condition and to share what Breakthrough T1Doffers.
With experience in delivering events, you may have worked for charities before in similar roles. Your role will be to oversee the planning and delivery of our community events, including on-the-day logistics in person and virtually. You will also develop post-event follow-up with participants and strategically evaluate our community events programme, working with the Community Partnerships and Events Lead. There will be opportunities to represent Breakthrough T1D , network and exhibit at external events and develop creative plans and strategy for future events, to support Breakthrough T1D’s ’s aims and mission.
Experience required

Purpose of Post: The Events Coordinator will help to plan, promote and deliver a diverse programme of online and in-person events that reflect the organisation’s mission to support, empower and amplify the voices of people with lived experience of mental illness. These will include outreach sessions, campaigning events, open forums, creative workshops, community engagement activities, fundraising events, awareness days and partnership events.
The post-holder will ensure all events are accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed and well-organised, working closely with the Engagement & Campaigns Manager, project teams, volunteers and external partners.
Given the collaborative and engagement-focused nature of this role, and its direct delivery responsibilities, regular face-to-face working is required, with the post-holder based primarily in the office and attending events and community activities as needed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and Coordination
- Develop and maintain an annual events calendar covering outreach, campaigns, creative sessions, open forums, workshops and fundraising (both online and in-person).
- Lead on the end-to-end planning of online and in-person events including aims, audience, format, accessibility needs, timelines, budgets, venues, equipment and staffing.
- Prepare event plans, schedules, risk assessments and checklists to ensure smooth delivery.
- Liaise with venues, suppliers and partners to negotiate costs (ensuring value for money), confirm bookings and arrange logistics.
Promotion and Communications
- Produce accessible event information and promotional materials, working with colleagues to ensure inclusive language, imagery and formats.
- Use social media, website updates, e-newsletters and community networks to publicise events.
- Maintain event booking systems (e.g. Eventbrite, online forms), manage attendee lists and respond promptly to enquiries.
Event Delivery
- Act as point of contact on the day of events, ensuring smooth set-up, running and pack-down (including seating, signage, technology and accessibility adjustments).
- Brief staff, volunteers and facilitators on their roles and responsibilities before and during events, to ensure clarity of roles.
- Greet attendees, speakers and partners; creating a warm, inclusive and trauma-sensitive environment.
- Monitor timing, technical requirements (e.g. microphones, presentations, online platforms if appropriate) and respond to any issues that arise calmly and adapt plans where needed.
Community Engagement and Stakeholder Support
- Build strong relationships with partner organisations, community groups, local charities, the council and health & social care stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation professionally at meetings, outreach events and networking opportunities as necessary.
- Support delivery of awareness campaigns, public consultations and community engagement activity.
Volunteer Coordination
- Support the recruitment, induction, supervision and recognition of event volunteers.
- Provide clear instructions and create a positive, supportive environment for volunteers.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
- Collect and analyse event data, including attendance, demographics, costs, outcomes and feedback (e.g. surveys, informal feedback, Mentimeter)
- Produce reports and summaries to evidence impact, support funder reporting and inform future planning.
Finance and Administration
- Work within agreed event budgets, tracking expenditure and income, and seeking value for money.
- Process invoices, petty cash and expenses in line with Hear Us, financial procedures.
- Maintain an organised system for event documentation (e.g. booking forms, contracts, attendance, risk assessments, evaluations).
Safeguarding, EDI and Health & Safety
- Ensure all events comply with safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality and health & safety policies.
- Ensure events are inclusive of people from diverse backgrounds and are accessible to people with a range of mental health needs and disabilities.
- Report safeguarding concerns promptly following internal procedures.
Other Duties
- Attend staff meetings, supervision, training and development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative and learning culture.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties within the scope and spirit of the role as requested by your line manager.

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Individual Giving Fundraiser to support the Supporter Development team as Individual Giving Fundraiser.
This is an exciting and varied role will be providing a key role in developing and increasing income, donor acquisition and engagement across SSCH’s Individual Giving fundraising programme, including legacies. The post will work to maximise potential and develop both new and existing donors, through targeted donor development campaigns, supporter acquisition and retention programmes.
The post holder will work flexibly across the Individual Giving income streams including individual donations, campaigns, gifts in memory and legacies. As part of this, a key responsibility will be the relationship management and support to any of our supported families who choose to fundraise for SSCH. This role will also support with legacy administration.
This role will combine a targeted driven approach with excellent donor care and relationship management helping to drive growth and income.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced programme manager who will oversee The Advice Workforce Development Fund (AWDF). AWDF is a collaborative programme dedicated to strengthening and sustaining the social welfare advice sector in London. The role will coordinate and run steering and advisory groups, and ‘task and finish’ groups, working with cross-sector stakeholders to enable the implementation of recent recommendations generated by research commissioned by the programme, and help with monitoring and evaluating the project and funded projects under this programme. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, a commitment to social justice, and a track record of delivering impactful support to external partners.
The workforce development programme was created after working closely with a group of funders and advice sector representatives who are now steering group members. The programme has reached an exciting stage, as it transitions from a foundation-laying and research phase into more of a focus on influencing and implementation of the learning generated to date, while also maintaining and strengthening new and existing relationships. This role, with support from the Head of Sector Support and Grants and the CEO, will oversee the continued development and delivery of this exciting partnership into the longer-term.
