Join the Renewal Programme as our Community Hub Connector and help create a welcoming, inclusive space where local people can connect, access support and thrive. You'll build trusted relationships with residents, community organisations and faith groups, helping people overcome barriers and become active participants in their community.
You will have a strong understanding of the challenges affecting refugees, asylum seekers and people experiencing homelessness, together with the ability to coordinate day-to-day activities, work collaboratively with volunteers and partners, and contribute positively to the charity's ongoing development.
One morning you might be meeting with a local mosque to develop a new partnership. That afternoon you could be welcoming someone who has recently arrived in the UK, introducing them to activities at the Hub and connecting them with the support they need. No two days are the same—but every day is about helping people feel they belong.
Based at our RenewALL Hub in East Ham, you'll coordinate activities, lead community outreach, support volunteers and work alongside statutory, voluntary and community organisations to create opportunities that improve people's wellbeing and strengthen local communities.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working directly with people, building partnerships and making a tangible difference. You'll support residents facing a range of challenges, including migration, loneliness, disability, digital exclusion and social isolation, ensuring everyone can access opportunities and services in a way that works for them.
This role is funded by the Mercers' Company, and you will contribute towards delivering the agreed outcomes and objectives of the grant.

Job description
We are looking for an Advice and Wellbeing Administrator to provide high quality administrative support to the Advice & Wellbeing team. This role will play a key part in the day-to-day operation of the Students' Union UCL Advice Service, including administering enquiry and appointment management processes, supporting the administration of our financial support funds, maintaining electronic case records and supervising student staff.
The role may also provide support to our expanding prevention and intervention programmes such as our Active Bystander Programme, including overseeing the enquiries, scheduling, and workshop administration.
The role is a full time and permanent contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 20/80 basis (80% working from the office). We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible, and job share basis wherever possible.
Key Requirements
Are you able to communicate effectively with students experiencing distress or complex circumstances? Are you able to work independently within agreed procedures, escalating where needed? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
Our ideal candidate will be experienced in managing high-volume enquiries and administrative processes in a student or customer-facing environment. They will administer shared inboxes and appointment processes, handle personal information sensitively and in accordance with confidentiality and data protection requirements, and support students in a friendly, professional and efficient manner. The successful candidate will prioritise competing demands effectively, contribute to service improvement through accurate record keeping and reporting, and work collaboratively with colleagues and student staff to deliver an outstanding Advice Service and wellbeing projects for UCL students

The successful candidate will inherit a finance function ready for transformation, with the full backing of an ambitious Senior Leadership Team committed to investing in modern systems, stronger processes and strategic financial leadership. The role
- Partner with the Deputy CEO and Senior Leadership Team to shape the organisation's financial strategy and support the delivery of its ambitious three-year strategic plan.
- Lead the transformation of the finance function, moving from manual, spreadsheet-led reporting to streamlined systems, efficient processes and insightful business partnering.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, including scenario modelling to support significant organisational growth and major international funding opportunities.
- Deliver high-quality management reporting for the Executive Team, Finance & Audit Committee, Board of Trustees and major international funders.
- Lead the production of statutory accounts, oversee the annual audit process and ensure full compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House and tax requirements.
- Develop robust financial controls, policies and governance frameworks that support a growing international charity.
- Manage treasury activities, cashflow and foreign currency exposure across an increasingly global operation.

Representing NGOs, professional associations, hospitals, academic institutions, corporations and philanthropies, IAPB works to influence policy, mobilise investment and strengthen health systems across the world.
The organisation has experienced significant growth in recent years, expanding to over 50 staff and securing substantial new investment to support its ambitious global agenda. This includes convening the inaugural Global Summit for Eye Health in November 2026, bringing together heads of government, multilateral organisations and major funders to accelerate progress towards ending avoidable sight loss for the 1.1 billion people currently living without access to the eye care they need.

Essential criteria
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience working within an international charity.
- Strong understanding of charity finance, including restricted funding, grant reporting and Charity SORP.
- Demonstrable experience producing high-quality financial reporting, budgeting and statutory accounts.
- Experience improving financial systems, controls and reporting processes.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, trustees and non-finance colleagues.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience developing and supporting finance teams.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to translate financial information into strategic insight.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence presenting complex financial information to a range of audiences.
