Carers Trust is currently recruiting for a Programme Officer to join the Wales Team supporting the delivery of a critical programme improving access to services and grants for unpaid carers who are experiencing financial hardship due to the cost-of-living crisis and ongoing impact of Covid.
This role is an opportunity to be part of an important programme supporting unpaid carers across Wales. Funded by Welsh Government, the Carers Support Fund Wales aims to reach 15,000 unpaid carers in Wales by 31 March 2025.

The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. The Role
Reporting into the Funding and Innovation Manager you will lead on contract management, oversight and monitoring and evaluation of our grants and crowdfunding programmes to community groups and customers, with a value of over £350,000 a year. You will be a great communicator and will ensure a high-quality service for applicants and awardees and will track our social impact through robust monitoring.
Responsibilities include:
- Assessing funding applications received, undertaking due diligence and make recommendations to the grants panel.
- Producing high-quality documentation for all panel meetings including providing the panel with accurate and timely data to support decision-making.
- Effectively manage contractors for our grant's programmes including Community Grants, Employment and Skills and grants for customers.
- Deliver a good user experience for grant applicants and awardees and ensure there is consistency across grant programmes.
- Work with the Funding and Innovation Manager and Social Impact Manager and leads in each team to ensure monitoring and evaluation requirements are being delivered through the grants programme that demonstrate our social impact.
- Supporting opportunities via our grant programmes to bring in external funding to benefit SNG communities and customers.
- Working collaboratively across the Community Investment Directorate and with other internal teams ensuring grants programmes meet the priorities of their teams and customers in localities.

You will have experience in a similar role in the grants space, or experience of working within the funding/charity sector. You'll have a passion for supporting community groups, creating thriving communities and delivering social impact. You'll also have:

We are currently recruiting a Grants and Community Officer, which is an exciting role with the community driven charitable foundation of a globally renowned sporting event.
This charitable foundation provides grants and works with charity partners to provide opportunities and positive development for people from disadvantaged communities, tackling social issues, mental health, active lives and using the power of sport to develop life skills for young people. The Foundation continues to grow and last year awarded over £3.3m in grants and donations to more than 100 charitable organisations. It has a rich selection of programmes, including core-cost and multi-year partnerships which support needs locally, nationally, and internationally, with a focus on the community based in South West London in particular.
The role:
The Grants and Community Officer is a key member of the Foundation team who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of grants, including some of the Foundation’s multi-year funds. The Grants and Community Officer will establish and maintain strong relationships with its charity partners and support the delivery of a Funder Plus suite of support.
In addition, this person will support with the development and implementation of new grant processes, and grant schemes as required to support the growth of the Foundation and respond to the needs of our communities and produce high quality monitoring and impact reports for a range of audiences. This person will also ensure the smooth running and maintenance of the grant management database.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience within a grant making environment, including a track record of administering grants. Excellent interpersonal skills, an effective communicator with outstanding written skills, this person will be comfortable operating within both community and corporate settings. Role Purpose
The intern will provide general support to the programmes and learning team, including with administration of programmes and grant compliance, partner communications, logistics and (online) event organisation. 4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
4.1 Programme financial planning, management and reporting
In close consultation with the programmes/partnerships team:
• Support the design and implementation of effective quality controls to ensure compliance with donor requirements and to maintain appropriate donor stewardship, including through manuals, checklists, templates, and other tools
• Monitor spending and activity implementation and ensure regular scheduling of grants management meetings, alerting the Programme Finance Manager and Programmes/Partnerships team about significant under or overspend on a timely basis
• Maintain internal tools that track active grants, cost recoveries and cash balances and ensure they are kept up-todate
• Maintain internal tools tracking pipeline and secured funding (Awards Information Management System -AIMS) and ensure they are kept up-to-date
• Prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including (but not limited to) the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboard and quarterly cash balances (co-finance) report.
4.2 Grants management and compliance
• Maintain the grants management tracker so that grants are properly recorded and monitored, ensuring that input from the Programmes/Partnerships team and the Programme Finance Manager are incorporated on a timely basis
• Undertake administrative tasks related to grants, including setting up of grant codes (pipeline and secured), collecting and forwarding information to different units and executing follow up tasks as required
• Review budgets for concepts/proposals, ensuring the inclusion of AKF(UK) costs, make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team and field units to ensure these are complete, accurate, consistent with the narrative, compliant with donor requirements, and correctly formatted for presentation to donors
• Support the preparation, review and submission process for donor financial (and narrative as relevant, e.g. ECHO) reports to ensure compliance with donor requirements; ensure reports are produced on time to a high standard and are consistent with the narrative
• Ensure timely submission of cash requests as required by donor contracts and internal sub-grant agreements

• Ensure all AKF (UK) direct grants are reflected on the IATI system, and update the required information on a quarterly basis
4.3 Audit, internal controls and risk
• Contribute on programme finance to all audits and statutory compliance in line with UK and AKF/AKDN regulations and compliance requirements
• In collaboration with field units, prepare due diligence assessments for potential new partners or donors and ensure these are refreshed periodically

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office-based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.

The role is essential to delivering Edward’s Trust fundraising priorities and achieving its financial targets. The Fundraising and Evaluation Manager will be responsible for assisting the CEO and the Fundraising Team in developing and implementing Edward’s Trust income generation strategy.
You will work with the Fundraising Team to deliver income targets from Charitable Trusts and Foundations, build strong relationships with new and existing funders, produce timely reports, monitoring outcomes and evaluating the impact of funding.
Working with the other members of the Fundraising Team you will ensure that the donor experience is the best it can be, relationships are strong and that excellent personalised communication systems are in place, ensuring that donors are communicated with in a timely way and using their preferred methods. You may be required to support other members of the Fundraising Team on fundraising activities where extra resources may be required.
You will lead on continuing to develop and implement the legacy income and regular giving strategies to increase donor support and income.
You will be responsible for taking the lead role in ensuring the database (Donorflex) is maintained, kept up to date and reports are produced.
The role will involve tracking the Fundraising Team budget by creating monthly reports and updates and reforecasting income/expenditure if needed.
