We are seeking an experienced and committed Finance Manager to support the work of the church by ensuring excellent financial stewardship, strong governance, and clear financial planning.
This is a key role, working closely with the staff team, clergy, churchwardens and PCC, and offering both strategic oversight and hands-on financial management.

Purpose of the Role
The Finance Manager is responsible for the effective financial management and in large part, delivery of the church, ensuring robust systems, accurate reporting, compliance with charity and diocesan requirements, and strong financial planning. The role supports the PCC in fulfilling its legal and fiduciary responsibilities and enables staff and clergy teams to focus on the strategic priorities of the church.
This is a broad role with a large scope requiring close attention to detail in a complex organisation. There is a requirement for oversight and management as well as day to day bookkeeping delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee all day-to-day financial operations of the church.
- Prepare accurate management accounts for the Head of Operations, Incumbent, Treasurer, and PCC.
- Monitor income and expenditure against budget, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Manage cash flow to ensure the parish can meet its financial commitments.
- Prepare year-end accounts and act as the main liaison with independent examiners or auditors.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with staff team colleagues, clergy and PCC.
- Support medium- and long-term financial planning aligned with wider church strategy and organisational priorities.
- Provide clear financial analysis and advice to inform decision-making.
Governance, Compliance, and Risk
- Ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements, diocesan financial regulations, and PCC policies.
- Support the PCC in meeting its fiduciary responsibilities.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with risk management and internal controls, including fraud prevention.
Income, Funds, and Stewardship
- Oversee the management of restricted, designated, and unrestricted funds.

Systems and Processes
- Maintain and develop effective financial systems and software.

The Hub Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a FSSW hub, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations that maximise the volume of surplus food received, stored, and distributed to our Community Food Members (CFMs). This includes managing a mixed team of staff, FareChance employability participants and volunteers in their operational tasks, maintaining high operational and health & safety standards, and collaborating with colleagues across food & logistics, compliance, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Oversee and manage the safe and efficient daily operation of the hub, ensuring essential tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure the hub is appropriately set up to meet Key Performance Indicators and goods in and deliveries out, working closely with the Head of Operations.
- Use FareShare UK (FSUK)’s digital stock system to manage product movements and maintain stock accuracy. Lead weekly stock takes and investigate discrepancies in collaboration with the compliance and food teams.
- Oversee the smooth intake and dispatch of food, liaising with food donors, FSUK, transport providers, and partners. Ensure food deliveries meet acceptance criteria and report any quality issues promptly.
- Ensure the Hub Operations team maintain positive relationships with CFMs, ensuring high standards of service and communication.
- Play an active role in identifying solutions to operational challenges, in collaboration with the food, membership and volunteer teams.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors for maintenance and repairs.

2. Team Management

Overview:
- Working as part of the Trusts and Foundations department, you will help to deliver the objectives and income targets through your work with Trusts and Foundations.
- Reporting to the Head of Trusts and Foundations, you will work as part of a high-achieving, small but busy department.

Key Responsibilities:

About the role:
This Best Companies Top 50 mid-sized company and Top 10 Charity is looking to appoint an Operations Manager (Facilities/IT and Fleet) who will be responsible for the efficient operations and security of Rainbow Trust’s offices, operations contracts, vehicle fleet management and core IT infrastructure.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, you will organise and manage the activities and contracts that facilitate the smooth running of the organisation, including the management of our facilities contracts and leases for our head office in Surrey and our nine regional offices, and managing our IT systems contracts to ensure the reliability and security of our IT infrastructure.
Managing the central administration budget, as well as our leased fleet of 80 vehicles with the support of the Fleet Administrator, you will develop efficient office procedures, project manage relocations and lead on the negotiation and management of all relevant third-party contracts.
This is a broad ranging role which requires excellent organisation, project management, contract negotiation and relationship management skills.
What we’re looking for:
- A systematic and effective problem solver – you are self-disciplined and analytical and you thrive on providing solutions, delivering high standards, and are skilled in appropriately tailoring your output to a range of different stakeholders for decision-making.
- A self-disciplined multi-tasker who is able to work independently and at a fast pace to meet deadlines – you are someone who perseveres and ensures close follow-up of delegated tasks to deliver consistently high-quality work through to completion.
- A strong verbal and written communicator with a high level of attention to detail – you’re a quick decision maker, who operates well within a defined area of control, basing your decisions on policy and procedures.
- You build strong working relationships both internally and externally – you are driven to achieve results and have the ability to train and support others to make correct decisions
- You work well within established systems, standards and procedures – you are accurate, highly numerate with excellent Excel skills and make fact-based and solution orientated decisions.

What the job involves
As part of our Customer Engagement and Experience team, you’ll play a key role in delivering an exceptional supporter experience, from ordering shop items and receiving fulfilment materials to ensuring Gift Aid contributions are processed accurately and securely.
This job share role combines operational ownership, relationship management and compliance oversight. You’ll be trusted to run essential day-to-day activity and improve the systems that sit behind them.
You’ll build and manage strong relationships with fulfilment suppliers, holding them accountable to KPIs and ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time. You’ll also manage the day-to-day running of our online shop, including product development, stock forecasting, supplier coordination and performance monitoring.
You’ll keep fulfilment operations running efficiently by identifying improvements, resolving bottlenecks and making sure teams across the charity have what they need. Alongside this, you’ll take ownership of Gift Aid administration, ensuring claims are accurate, compliant with HMRC requirements and supported by clear audit trails.
By monitoring Gift Aid performance, you’ll analyse trends and recommend improvements, keeping internal teams informed and skilled in best practice. You’ll also support Fundraising teams with compliance checks, offering guidance and helping to resolve any issues quickly and effectively.
In addition, you’ll oversee monthly stock reconciliations and financial reporting for shop activity, ensuring accuracy and supporting informed decision-making. You’ll work closely with colleagues across digital, operations, marketing and customer experience to deliver a seamless, joined-up supporter journey.
This is a varied and meaningful role where your work directly improves how supporters experience Prostate Cancer UK.
Please note, internally this role is known as Gift Aid, Compliance and Fulfilment Manager.
What we want from you
We’re looking for someone who enjoys improving processes, building strong relationships and getting things right first time. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re naturally organised, able to balance attention to detail with multiple moving parts and motivated by delivering an excellent supporter experience.
You’ll be solutions-focused and confident managing priorities, working with data to inform decisions and collaborating across teams to make things happen. You’ll build strong relationships with both suppliers and internal teams and feel confident holding partners to account when needed. You’ll be process-driven, always looking for simpler, smarter ways of working, and comfortable managing complex operational activity while keeping everything running smoothly. Strong attention to detail is essential, particularly when working at pace or with large volumes of data and multiple suppliers.
You’ll bring experience of forecasting, stock management and using insight to guide decisions, along with the ability to support, coach or motivate others, whether formally or informally.
You’ll need excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with your job share partner, keeping each other aligned on tasks, responsibilities and priorities, and ensuring a seamless handover when needed.

How and where we work
Colleagues attend the office at least four days per month (pro rata for part-time colleagues) to collaborate, build relationships, and support projects and decision-making. You can choose where to work the rest of the time. Travel to the office is a commute, so we pay our own travel costs.
Additional in-person attendance will be required during your first few months for induction and training, to support you to learn the role and get to know colleagues.
