The Role:

This is an exciting time to join the organisation, as we are planning the refurbishment of our flagship 10-bedroom supported accommodation service alongside ongoing development of our wider accommodation portfolio.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and effective operation of all facilities at York Road Project, which includes a 10-bedroom main site shelter and three additional properties comprising a further 14 beds. The role ensures all buildings are maintained to a high standard, remain fit for purpose, and meet statutory and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Management

• The Facilities Manager monitors the delivery of maintenance activity across all sites, ensuring issues are escalated where standards, timescales or compliance requirements are not met.
• The role ensures all accommodation and premises are maintained to a high standard, remain fit for purpose, and operate safely and efficiently.
• The Facilities Manager reviews and improves facilities processes to enhance operational efficiency and ensure consistent delivery across all sites.

Health and Safety & Compliance

• Oversee Health and Safety compliance across all properties and service.
• This includes the development, review and maintenance of risk assessments for all properties and relevant work activities, ensuring they are suitable and sufficient, regularly reviewed, updated following changes or incidents, and effectively implemented.
• The role also ensures statutory inspections, fire risk assessments, fire safety compliance, emergency preparedness, HSE requirements, and DSE compliance for home working staff are in place and maintained.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance systems and documentation are maintained to an audit-ready standard.
• The role supports internal and external audits, including annual health and safety and fire risk assessment audits, ensuring evidence and corrective actions are completed.

Governance & Reporting

• As part of the role you will attend the charity’s Health and Safety Sub-Committee, providing updates on H&S, risks, compliance, audits, and improvement actions.
• The role contributes to audit processes, monitoring compliance status and ensuring follow-up actions are completed and embedded across the services.

Budgets & Operational Reporting

• Manage facilities-related budgets, reporting on spend, risks, compliance status and planned maintenance priorities.
• Develop a maintenance schedule for all properties.

Professional Standards & Ways of Working

• Maintain accurate and timely records of inspections, compliance checks, maintenance activity and statutory requirements
• Ensure all property and compliance documentation is audit-ready and consistently maintained
•  Work collaboratively with the administrative team to ensure effective coordination of maintenance, suppliers and compliance systems

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential

• Experience in facilities, maintenance, property management and compliance roles.
• Experience of using facilities and compliance management software.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental regulations.

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our exciting new project, working with those engaging in gambling harms behaviours and affected others. The role will include various workstreams to the service, including: crisis de-escalation, casework, psychoeducation workshops and facilitating a space for peer-led activities.

Your role as a support worker will be to de-escalate those in a state of crisis which is exacerbated or influenced by gambling related behaviours. You will be expected to manage crises within a drop-in model. You will be expected to hold your own caseload of clients, providing 1:1 bespoke advice surrounding gambling and mental health support. In addition, you will aid in facilitating peer-led psychoeducation groups addressing root causes of gambling and a safe environment for loved ones to build meaningful peer connections. You will be joining a small team and be expected to work in partnership with your peer support workers and service lead. We are seeking autonomous, creative individuals with experiences of working with behaviours around addiction.
 

Key Responsibilities

• De-escalate immediate mental health crises
• Co-produce and facilitate various psychoeducation workshops
• Hold your own caseload of clients; providing advice and support on various matters eg financial management, debt, housing and other social issues pertaining to gambling behaviours
• Work autonomously and proactively
• Co-produce and hold a safe environment for peer-led activities
• Engage in extensive outreach across the borough of Hounslow
• Work within an integrative model with existing clinical pathways: collaborative working with NHS and Public Health colleagues

The Payroll HR Admin Partner is a hands-on role responsible for:

1. Ensuring both the effective administration and checking of the monthly payroll tasks and effectively managing payroll queries and the outsourcing of payroll tasks to MHR. Ensuring the integrity of Look Ahead's payroll system at all times and ensure accurate, prompt payment to all employees, workers and Board Members (it is envisaged this will take approximately 50% of time)

What you'll do:

Payroll

• Be responsible for the day to day delivery and coordination of the administration of the Payroll function, ensuring a timely and accurate payroll service is delivered to Look Ahead's employees, workers and Board members, to agreed deadlines
• Produce and review any monthly exception reports to identify and rectify any payroll errors arising

HR Admin

• Acting as the first point of contact for all HR Admin related queries, via phone and email; responding promptly, whilst managing expectations effectively
• Ensure letters for contractual changes for staff are sent out in a timely and accurate way and all relevant systems updated

General:

• Ensure that all diversity and inclusion implications are considered in all work, and in personal conduct across Look Ahead

About the Role

We’re looking for a Night Engagement Worker to join the team in Catford. You will support within the Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation to support in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents and participants back into the community. The service delivers support for people in the criminal justice system who are deemed high risk, and likely to meet criteria for personality disorder. Penrose OPD HASS service offers specialist accommodation to people with high risk/high needs and require intensive support to overcome barriers to resettlement and progress towards independent living in the community.

You will assist with those who have recently been released from prison, secure health settings, or are transitioning from Approved Premises. Your role will involve supporting all aspects of key engagement activities, aiding their rehabilitation, reablement, and reintegration into society by providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions, that will enable successful resettlements and work with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Support residents who may be facing challenges with substance misuse, helping them take positive steps forward.
• Creating one to one person centred support plans to support residents in achieving their goals.
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times during the shift, including regular check ins and carrying our protocols.
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities during the evening which may include movie nights and games nights.
• Lone working is part of the role, but you’ll always have a supportive team around.
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.

As a Recovery Worker, the person would be managing a caseload of clients who need early intervention or preventative support with their mental health. CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people who live in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. Currently, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.

Over the last 20 years, CSAN has built up a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities with a combined annual spend on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.

The key responsibilities of the post are:

1. To scan the social policy environment to capture developments in legislation, consultation papers and Bills relevant to the Caritas network for the purpose of comprehensive tracking and briefing.

2. To deliver an effective programme of Catholic advocacy and political campaigns that contributes to the common good, with particular attention to the priorities of the dignity of workers, child poverty, social care and end of life; supporting and connecting well with the team’s other activities, and where possible with the CSAN membership’s priorities,

3. To draft campaign and advocacy materials for the range of media channels used by CSAN and support the CEO in engaging with the press and approaches from campaigning organisations including contributing to CSAN’s social media networks.

4. To provide admin support and contribute to CSAN’s Alliances as required, especially the Advocacy Alliance and the Criminal Justice Alliance with information and education on policy and legislation.

5. To ensure that our advocacy is consistent with the Bishops’ understanding of the Church’s role in society and supports the priorities of the Bishops’ Conference, especially the Department for Social Justice.

6. To act as a conduit of information and communication between the Bishops’ Conference and the CSAN members, under the guidance of the CEO, assisting CBCEW where possible in gathering information and the lived experience of poverty.

7. To develop and contribute to practice materials for the network, especially in the areas of campaigning, advocacy, social policy and formation for mission.

8. To oversee monitoring of the Catholic press and relevant wider networks for relevant articles, developments and campaigns.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the Community Connector provides a first-point-of-contact mental health service within GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Key responsibilities:

• Work jointly with the Mental Health Practitioner in conducting assessments, including risk assessment, and to work with patients to support them in identifying their socially determined needs and goals, provide self-management tools and facilitate the development of personal support plans
• Provide a range of motivational and structured psychosocial interventions
• Promote independence through an enabling asset-based approach that draws on individuals’ strengths, preferences and ‘natural’ support networks
• Establish effective working relationships with a range of agencies to facilitate a ‘joined up’ approach to support plans
• Liaise with, develop and maintain good relations with GPs, practice managers and other health practitioners across mental health and physical health pathways and wider support networks

• Promote and support (where necessary) advised follow up actions from physical health checks for people with serious mental illness
• Support patients to engage with local peer support workers and volunteering services
• Support and supervise any peer support workers linked to PCN
• Work with the service to identify opportunities to expand provision particularly in local communities where there is a lack of service provision identified
• Broker and establish new partnerships between public and voluntary sector agencies to enhance service delivery and access to services
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with service users, partner agencies and appropriate external agencies
• Complete locally agreed quality outcome measures, with patients and to undertake regular reviews
