The Head of Finance is responsible for all aspects of the charity’s financial operations, including daily accounting activities, management reporting, compliance, and governance. Supporting the organisation’s ambitious plans to create greater impact, the role will also work closely with the CEO and leadership team in building the organisations capacity, and firm charity governance to enable growth.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified and experienced accountant as day-to-day financial management is a given. As a key player in the Foundation’s growth, you will also embody the values of the organisation, inspire others and actively build strong frameworks within finance, and also for other operational areas if required. This role would be ideal for someone who has been involved in the building and growth of a charity, bringing strong charity governance in equal measure with passion and innovation.

Strategic leadership

Income growth & diversification

As a part-time role within a small charity, the postholder will need to carefully prioritise income-generating opportunities alongside stewardship and relationship management. In year one, a key focus will be establishing effective donor pathways through the rollout of our new CRM, ensuring supporters experience clear and meaningful journeys with the charity. Alongside this, the Senior Fundraising Manager will assess and determine which early opportunities for growth should be prioritised. While areas such as community fundraising, digital campaigns and regular giving are likely to offer early potential, the postholder will lead decisions on where to focus effort and investment to generate the strongest returns.

• Leverage and optimise existing community and public fundraising activity to increase income and supporter numbers.
• Develop and grow new revenue streams, to potentially include digital fundraising campaigns, regular giving, trusts and grants, and legacy giving.
• Lead creatively and intellectually on compelling campaigning initiatives that drive engagement and income.
• Provide excellent stewardship to ensure funders and partners feel valued, engaged and motivated to continue their support.

CRM

• Support the design and rollout of our first CRM system, working closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to design fit-for-purpose donor journeys and pathways, establish meaningful reporting frameworks and ensure data supports excellent stewardship and strategic decision-making.
• Use CRM data and financial information to track performance, analyse trends and adjust strategy as required.

Data & impact

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including ICO guidance, GDPR and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
• Work closely with the Finance & Operations Manager to ensure our data meaningfully represents organisational outcomes.
• Translate impact data into powerful, succinct and persuasive communications or compelling cases for support.

Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate, and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service based in South Derbyshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
• Take a person-centred approach to goal setting and support to enable stroke survivors and their carers to improve communication
• Provide personalised information, advice and support.
• Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.
• Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference in the lives of people affected by stroke.

The post holder will have experience/background in:

• Providing person centred support.
• Working to improve outcomes for individuals/communities
• Using technology and IT systems to support your work and keep timely, accurate records.

The Role
As Deputy Director, you will act as a key strategic partner to the Director and a senior figure across the charity, ensuring continuity during the maternity leave period. You will:

• Line manage two Heads of department (Head of Partnerships and Head of Communications), offering supportive, calm and confident leadership.
• Play a hands-on role in major giving, stewarding key supporters including HNWIs, family foundations and trusts.
• Support the delivery of WFN's income ambitions for this financial year
• Represent WFN at donor meetings, pitches, and engagement events, drawing on your own network where appropriate.
• Work alongside colleagues on the prestigious Whitley Awards, supporting donor engagement and communications linked to the event.
• Oversee high‑quality proposals and reports, typically at the £5k-£100k+ level, and support renewals, revisits, and long‑term partnerships.
• Maintain oversight of communications and brand, ensuring alignment with WFN's mission and global conservation agenda.
• Play a key role in the 2026 WFN People for Planet Summit following the huge success of the 2025 event.

This is a brilliant position for a senior major gifts or partnerships specialist who enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on delivery, and who thrives in a collaborative, mission-led environment.

About You
We're looking for a confident, thoughtful and solutions-focused leader with:

• A strong track record in major donor fundraising (HNWIs, family foundations, trusts).
• Experience in securing and stewarding gifts, managing a portfolio where gifts often sit at the upper major-giving threshold.
• Senior leadership experience, ideally in a charity or environment-focused organisation.
• Willingness to represent WFN externally and maintain strong personal relationships with donors and partners.
• The ability to step into an already well-structured programme and ensure momentum continues smoothly.
• A collaborative, calm and people-centred leadership style.
• An understanding or background in wildlife conservation would be welcomed

This is a key communications role responsible for significantly increasing national and international media coverage.

• Set up records and create case files on Salesforce for all legacy bequests received from solicitors and from notifications of bequests on the Smee and Ford website.
• Record the details of all legacy bequests in the case file on Salesforce.
• Set up a SharePoint folder for the notified legacy bequests.
• Upload all legacy documentation received into the legacy case files on salesforce and into the SharePoint folder.
• Respond to the solicitor or personal executor acknowledging the legacy bequest, thanking the next of kin on behalf of major giving and requesting any further documentation.
• Raise tasks on the salesforce legacy case files as a reminder to follow up with the solicitor or the personal executor as to the progress of the legacy administration.
• Correspond in a timely manner with solicitors and personal executors to enquire into progress of the legacy administration.
• Throughout the legacy administration process update the legacy case files with notes of the correspondence with the solicitor or personal executor.
• On receipt of the legacy income complete the documentation requested by the solicitor and close the legacy case file on Salesforce.
• Escalate any issues identified to the Finance Business Partner Income.
• Review the open legacy case files with the Finance Business Partner Income and follow up on actions raised.
