Fundraiser Job Description

Within a small, dynamic medical charity, the Fundraiser will play a pivotal role, engaging supporters through creative campaigns and cultivating strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.

The role is currently home-based in the UK, with remote staff communications.  Attendance at events across the UK is required, so the ability to travel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Financial Management

• Monitor and track fundraising income in collaboration with the accountant
• Forecast income targets and plan campaign budgets and expenses
• Draft fundraising budgets and coordinate payment processing

About You

You will be based in the UK.

You will have experience in marketing, ideally within charity fundraising, with a proven ability to deliver successful campaigns and grow income across multiple channels. You are confident writing persuasive copy, using data to inform decisions, and managing campaigns from inception to completion.

You are well organised, take initiative, and communicate easily with others. You work collaboratively, bring creativity to what you do, and pay close attention to detail. Confidence using Microsoft Office is essential. Most importantly, you care about the mission of a charity, and an interest in healthcare and medicine would be a welcome addition

The Opportunity

This is a highly varied role combining programme leadership, business development, stakeholder engagement, customer service and commercial accountability. What you will be doing:

• Lead the strategy, delivery and continuous improvement of WIG's secondment programmes, including delivering cross-sector secondment opportunities for senior civil service, business and civil society leaders, placing 2 large cohorts annually of civil service fast streamers into charity secondments and supporting senior cross-sector mentoring brokerages. 
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the civil service, private sector, charity and further education sectors.
• Act as a strategic adviser to hosts and secondees, ensuring successful placements.
• Support governance activity, including the Charity Next Advisory Board.
• Develop compelling proposals, new programme ideas and business development opportunities, aligning to WIG’s mission and Civil Service focus areas

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly hands-on Interim Head of Finance to join an international not-for-profit organisation for a short-term assignment.

The key priority will be to hold the fort during a period of transition, ensuring the day-to-day finance function continues to operate effectively before providing a comprehensive handover to the incoming permanent Head of Finance.

This is very much a hands-on, sleeves-rolled-up role. Alongside overseeing the finance function, you will be comfortable getting into the detail yourself, including making payments, managing payroll and VAT returns, maintaining accurate financial information and supporting the migration to a new banking provider.

A significant project during the assignment will also be leading the development of the organisation’s 2027 annual budget.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for someone who can quickly get to grips with an organisation and operate with minimal supervision. You will be equally comfortable working with senior stakeholders and getting directly involved in transactional and operational finance.

You will ideally bring:

• A recognised accountancy qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong experience operating at Head of Finance / Financial Controller level within a charity, NGO or wider not-for-profit environment.
• Good working knowledge and practical experience of Xero.
• A genuinely hands-on approach, with the willingness to process payments and get involved in payroll, VAT and the day-to-day finance workload.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting experience, ideally having led an organisation-wide annual budgeting process.
• Experience managing and reporting on restricted donor or grant funding, including allocations.
• Knowledge of UK charity accounting and Charity SORP.
• Strong financial controls and process management experience.
• The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
• The confidence to quickly establish priorities, keep the function running effectively and leave everything in good shape for the permanent postholder.

About The Role

As a Legacy Management Officer, you’ll take ownership of a substantial and varied caseload of legacy files, dealing with everything from straightforward pecuniary and specific bequests through to complex residuary estates, life interests and contentious cases. You’ll be responsible for making sure RBL receives what it is entitled to, using your knowledge of wills, probate, trusts and taxation to scrutinise estate accounts, challenge discrepancies, resolve issues and make sound decisions throughout the administration of each estate. With a caseload of up to 250 files, no two days will look quite the same, and you’ll have the autonomy to manage your work, assess risk and decide when an issue needs further investigation or escalation.

The role goes well beyond routine legacy administration. You’ll deal directly with solicitors, executors, other charities and professional advisers, negotiating where interests overlap and taking the lead on shared or more complex estates where required. We’re looking for someone with strong experience in wills, probate and trusts or established legacy casework who is comfortable interpreting complex Will clauses and applying the law in practice. You’ll need the judgement to spot a problem in an estate account, the analytical ability to work out what needs to happen next and the confidence to challenge or negotiate when RBL’s interests need protecting. Attention to detail is critical, but so is being able to build effective relationships with solicitors, executors, charities and colleagues. This would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of legacy administration, is confident managing their own workload and wants a role where their expertise, decision-making and knowledge of the sector can be applied to a genuinely varied portfolio of estates.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

HelpAge International is seeking to diversify and grow philanthropic income from trusts and foundations from the US philanthropic markets.

An initial prospect mapping exercise is currently being undertaken by an external consultant, identifying a broad range of potential trusts, foundations, and philanthropic opportunities. HelpAge aims to build on this work through a short-term assignment that combines prospect qualification with active donor outreach and engagement to assess the level of market interest and develop a robust pipeline for future cultivation.

The assignment will also support the organisation in assessing the value of different funding intelligence platforms through the use of free trial subscriptions.

Purpose of the assignment

We are looking for a Governance Manager to join our Chief Executive’s team. Additional Information

• Typical working hours at the College are 9 am to 5 pm (7 hours, excluding lunch) working five days a week. PETA’s campaigns team is at the core of the organisation – it’s a busy group of advocates pushing for an end to animal suffering with eye-catching, bold campaigns calling on the government, companies, and the public to take action for animals. Our priorities include ending the use of animals for experimentation, food, fashion, and entertainment. As our campaigns intern, you’ll be right in the thick of it – helping to plan and deliver creative actions, demonstrations, and other initiatives that get people talking and make a difference to animals. • Act as the system owner and technical lead for Start Network’s Salesforce platform, ensuring it supports the needs of a global, network‑based organisation.
• Design and maintain Salesforce access and security controls, balancing strong data protection with practical access for teams working across regions and functions.

Job Description

Purpose of the role

The Legal Officer will play a key role in supporting ILPA’s legal and policy work on immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality law.

Working under the direction of the Director of Policy and Advocacy, the post holder will engage in detailed legal and policy analysis, support parliamentary and influencing activity, support legal project delivery, and contribute to high-quality information and engagement for ILPA members. The Legal Officer will need to work reliably and flexibly across a broad range of legal and policy issues, often at short notice.

The Legal Officer will also work with the Director of Strategic Litigation and Advice where legal policy and strategic litigation intersect.

Key responsibilities

1. Legal and policy analysis

• Produce high-quality analysis of immigration, economic migration, asylum and nationality law and policy.
• Monitor developments in legislation, case law and policy, including secondary legislation and guidance.
• Prepare written briefings, updates and summaries for members, trustees and external stakeholders.
