To support the Programme Finance Manager in running efficient and effective programme financial accounting, programme financial management and programme financial reporting processes in relation to AKF (UK)’s programmes and grants. To provide support to the full life cycle of grants: from donor concept notes/proposals to final reports. To maintain a close working relationship with AKF (UK) finance and programme teams and relevant staff from across the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) agencies and external donors as required.
Programme financial planning, management and reporting
In close consultation with the programmes/partnerships team:
• Support the design and implementation of effective quality controls to ensure compliance with donor requirements and to maintain appropriate donor stewardship, including through manuals, checklists, templates, and other tools
• Monitor spending and activity implementation and ensure regular scheduling of grants management meetings, alerting the Programme Finance Manager and Programmes/Partnerships team about significant under or overspend on a timely basis
• Maintain internal tools that track active grants, cost recoveries and cash balances and ensure they are kept up-to-date
• Maintain internal tools tracking pipeline and secured funding (Awards Information Management System -AIMS) and ensure they are kept up-to-date
• Prepare financial information for internal reporting purposes, including (but not limited to) the quarterly CEO report, monthly dashboard and quarterly cash balances (co-finance) report.
Grants management and compliance
• Maintain the grants management tracker so that grants are properly recorded and monitored, ensuring that input from the Programmes/Partnerships team and the Programme Finance Manager are incorporated on a timely basis
• Undertake administrative tasks related to grants, including setting up of grant codes (pipeline and secured), collecting and forwarding information to different units and executing follow up tasks as required
• Review budgets for concepts/proposals, ensuring the inclusion of AKF(UK) costs, make recommendations for improvements and liaise with the programme/partnerships team and field units to ensure these are complete, accurate, consistent with the narrative, compliant with donor requirements, and correctly formatted for presentation to donors
• Support the preparation, review and submission process for donor financial (and narrative as relevant, e.g. ECHO) reports to ensure compliance with donor requirements; ensure reports are produced on time to a high standard and are consistent with the narrative
• Ensure timely submission of cash requests as required by donor contracts and internal sub-grant agreements
• Prepare donor and internal sub-grant agreements with AKDN agencies, field units, and implementing partners, including (but not limited to) those with co-financing
• Ensure that donor and AKDN rules are being adhered to regarding procurement, accounting, project expenditure, and implementation of activities through regular reporting, engagement with the field, and remote spot checks
• Carry out monitoring visits and audits on specific projects as necessary
• Assist in the preparation, support, and follow up of internal or external grant audits and expenditure verifications of AKDN field units, including direct liaison with auditors as required, and ensure that management (programmes and finance) is apprised, including through maintaining and updating the audit and disallowance summary
• Develop and deliver relevant training and reference material on grants management, including procurement, donor regulations, IATI, finance and reporting for Programme, Finance, and other field-based staff; act as a resource for agencies/field units on donor regulations and compliance
• Ensure all AKF (UK) direct grants are reflected on the IATI system, and update the required information on a quarterly basis
Audit, internal controls and risk
• Contribute on programme finance to all audits and statutory compliance in line with UK and AKF/AKDN regulations and compliance requirements
• In collaboration with field units, prepare due diligence assessments for potential new partners or donors and ensure these are refreshed periodically
• Troubleshoot financial, donor compliance and procurement-related queries identified through monitoring grants or as raised by management or field units
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Programme Finance Manager or the Head of Finance and Operations.
The role will involve travel to countries in which we operate grants. Normally this could be 2 – 3 trips per year.
Qualifications
• CCAB qualified accountant (desirable).
Experience
• 3 years relevant experience in financial accounting and financial reporting
• Experience of designing and managing effective administrative systems and procedures
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
• Experience working in international organisations or donor agencies including field-level implementation highly desirable
• Experience working with EC, ECHO, DFID or equivalent and familiarity with the various compliance rules and regulations highly desirable

Job Purpose
The Carer Hospital Project Officer will play a crucial role in helping unpaid Carers to get the right support at the right time to help them access the appropriate Carer related support in the respective boroughs. This role works with individuals in a person centre way and support Carer needs by making it Personal, Coordinated and Enabling.
They will work closely with ASC Duty Social Workers and other partners in Health & Social Care to support Carers in the hospital and ensure they have the necessary information and support.
Key Tasks

Being present and visible within their allocated Hospital sites – to both residents/carers and staff

Being ‘expert’ in the statutory and non-statutory Carers support services available in their allocated area – and across NEL more broadly – recognising that many carers access Hospital sites outside of the borough in which they live (we will be developing a ‘directory’ of NEL wide Carers services as part of the project to support this)

Having a comprehensive understanding of the current and emerging legislation surrounding carers, their entitlements and the Statutory Carers Assessment process

Building and maintaining good working relationships with hospital staff – to promote best practice around the identification, support and recording of Carers (in line with the Carers Hospital Discharge Tool kit’). This could include the delivery of Carer Awareness training/sessions for Hospital Staff

Attending Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings as / when appropriate.

Effectively explaining what a carer is as many people don’t see themselves as a carer

JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a maternity cover for our Trust & Foundations Manager role. Passionate about Trust Fundraising at a high level and about UNHCR’s work, this role is involved in the cultivation and stewardship of some our biggest and most established trust and foundation donors.
You will join our small but talented Philanthropy Team supporting on identifying and bringing on board new and prospective trust and foundation supporters, and securing repeat income from key relationships.
You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate donor relationships. An experienced fundraiser, you will provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.
You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing prospect pipelines and crafting compelling donor communications.
This role is also responsible for managing the Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage the Senior Officer working on trusts and foundations.
- Work as part of the Philanthropy Team to develop new opportunities with trusts and foundation donors in line with UK for UNHCR’s fundraising strategy, achieving six figure income targets.
- Support the development and management of a robust prospect pipeline and a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions, engagement, cultivation and stewardship of donors.
- Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors.
- Craft compelling propositions and proposals for trusts and foundation donors and ensure quality and timely reporting on donations made.
- Establish a strategic and tactical response to selected prospects and existing trust and foundation donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies.
- Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospective donors.
- Maintain accurate records on Salesforce, for income recording and earmarking.
- Work with the wider team to deliver bespoke trust and foundation activities including virtual and in-person events.
- Help to position and raise awareness of UK for UNHCR’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK for UNHCR at events, as appropriate.
- Work within UK for UNHCR’s due diligence policy and data protection policies and processes.
- Support the Philanthropy team in other activities, as requested.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience
- Experience of working in an income generating capacity within an NGO, INGO or fundraising organisation to identify, approach, secure and steward trusts & foundation gifts at the five, six and seven figure gift level.
- Experience of developing donor care plans and delivering bespoke proposals and communications to generate income.
- Experience of managing a prospect pipeline.
- Experience working on complex proposals involving multiple stakeholders.

You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for identifying relevant data or trends from our web scraping partners, our own data warehouse (TA Hub), and other intelligence sources that can be used in investigation and ultimately utilised by our commercial partners and law enforcement agencies.
Human traffickers leave traces in the recruitment of victims, the exploitation of those victims in supply chains, and in the flow of money. This role will focus on the latter two areas, using data to identify opportunities to disrupt criminal money flows, and assess human trafficking risks in supply chains. Our intelligence products facilitate partner organisations to act in terms of proactively mitigating risk, safeguarding, asset freezing, and ultimately prosecution of offenders.
This role will have a particular focus on understanding supply chains and using intelligence to understand how traffickers infiltrate legitimate businesses. Understanding how human trafficking and modern slavery fits into a wider narrative on human rights will be essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
· Analysing and improving human trafficking data collection, visualisation, and dissemination.
· Assisting with the analysis of gathered intelligence, transforming data into actionable insights, and strategic recommendations for businesses, as well as banks.
· Collaborating with global businesses to assess their human rights risk, from a human trafficking perspective, and deliver intelligence-led advice and expertise.
· Collaborating with financial institutions, investigating the relationships between illicit transactions and human trafficking to enhance the possibility of prosecution.
· Working closely with our Prevention Team to support the development of highly relevant, specific campaign content that reaches vulnerable, at-risk communities on the ground with safety information to avoid harm/exploitation.
