Development Officer Vacancy

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive fundraiser to develop and maintain strong relationships with donors and partners, while providing high-level administrative and communications support to the department. The post-holder will play a key role in contributing to securing funding for all aspects of the School’s work.

This is a full-time, year-round position, reporting to the Head of Development & Communications (however, if part-time hours would better suit you, we will consider applicants who can commit to working a minimum of three days a week).

In this newly established role, the post-holder will:

• Support the generation of the School’s philanthropic revenue from both existing and new sources, with a focus on Trusts and Foundations and smaller gifts (<£500), primarily for:

  • Student scholarships and bursaries
  • Capital projects
  • Academic and creative initiatives

• Work with the Head of Development & Communications to manage a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, helping to retain existing support through:

  • Timely and effective donor communications
  • Meetings, reporting, and stewardship

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the ‘Friends of Rambert School’ scheme, including:

  • Maintaining a database of renewals
  • Coordinating engagement opportunities

• Use research and communication skills to:

  • Identify new fundraising prospects in the UK and abroad
  • Assist in preparing compelling proposals and applications to secure support for the School and its students

Starting salary in the range of:  £33,141 to £35,855

Working pattern: Full-time (35 hours per week) - some out of hours work may be required for events.

Reports to: Director of Operations and Membership

 

Purpose:

The Events and Communications Officer will be responsible for supporting both membership events and communications activities.  The ECO will work with both the Communications Manager and the Membership and Events Manager to ensure membership data is up-to-date, to track membership engagement, to support the organising and delivery of our events, and to craft and broadcast digital content and media outputs.  This role requires a proactive, dynamic, and driven individual with excellent communication skills, an understanding of event management, confidence and experience using CRM databases and Excel, along with social media skills and an ability to spot new media opportunities. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, confident and adept with CRM systems, and enthusiastic about delivering excellent service to members whilst helping to promote the organisation's work across digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

Membership and Events Support

1. Working closely with the Membership and Events Manager to deliver  strategies for recruiting, retaining, and engaging members. 

2. Maintain and update the CRM system, ensuring accurate records and consistent data standards.

3. Support the processing of membership applications, renewals, and enquiries in a timely and professional manner. 

4. Support the organising and execution of member events, such as network and consortium meetings and other engagement activities as needed.

5. Support with the preparation of regular reports on membership numbers, trends and engagement activities. 

6. Work  closely with the Communications Manager and Membership and Events Manager to design, distribute, and collate the annual member survey.

7. Input membership invoices and payments into Xero or relevant systems.

Communications Support

1. Support a comprehensive media strategy set out by the Comms Manager to promote the organisation's mission and activities.

2. Manage planned activities on all social media platforms, including content creation and community engagement.

3. Proofread and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials.

4. Maintain and update the organisation's website with relevant news and content.

5. Managing the press inbox.

6. Monitor media coverage and help prepare reports on media performance.

7. Create engaging content for various platforms.

The postholder will also be expected to:

1. Actively support the delivery of the GuildHE strategy.

2. To contribute positively to a small, professional team focused on delivering excellence in their members’ interests.

3. Support GuildHE events and communication activities as appropriate - including campaigns, writing articles, blogs and press releases.

4. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders at HE institutions, including senior leaders, academics, and professional services staff.

5. Gather feedback from HE institutions and use this to inform the continuous improvement of our services.

6. Demonstrate a proactive approach to embedding EDI principles within all policy development and advocacy efforts.

7. Represent GuildHE externally on a range of HE sector groups and projects where appropriate. 

8. Deputise for the Membership and Events manager, and the Communications manager as appropriate.

9. Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required.

Role Requirements

Required:

The Housing Programme Senior Officer will lead the delivery of NZF’s Housing Partnerships Programme (HPP) pilot, supporting Muslims facing housing insecurity across the UK. As an Enhanced Support Worker you will support vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community, by providing flexible and individually tailored support.

The working pattern involves a set five-week rolling rota covering early, late, and weekend shifts. Shift times: Early: 8am-4pm. Late: 2:30pm-10:30pm. The service operates 24 hours 7 days a week.

About the Service

Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.

The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.  They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.

About the Role

In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and psychologically informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.

Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.

The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.

As a Senior, you will need strong case management and the knowledge and confidence to advise others as you will often be in roles that involve supporting other staff members in their risk management and also career development. Your placements may involve partnership working and process development.

You will line manage up to three Peri employees in this role, so we are looking for someone ready to step in to a leadership role but training is available to develop these skills.

About You

The Peripatetic Team is dynamic – our colleagues bring a wide range of transferrable skills and different experiences to the team that informs our practice and work with survivors.

The Peripatetic Team is looking for passionate advocates who understand the importance of working in a trauma-informed way with both survivors and colleagues, who are willing to continuously learn and develop their skills, and who understand intersectionality and the impacts violence against women and girls can have on women with intersecting identities. While prior experience of working with survivors of abuse is desirable, it is not a requirement and if you have transferrable skills and a passion for supporting women and children then we would love to hear from you.

You will be a great addition to the Peri Team if you embrace change, have a growth mindset, and are comfortable working independently. Although peri workers are dispersed across different services, the team offers regular opportunities to connect with fellow peri colleagues.

You will need to be proactive and show initiative as there is lone working in roles and great time management skills to be able to balance your line management responsibilities as well as your case load.

The charity has been supporting children, young people and families for over 25 years through a range of play, family support and youth programmes. As Deputy Play Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role within the play service, helping to design, deliver and evaluate a high-quality programme of activities. You’ll support the Play Manager in day-to-day operations (including managing enquiries/collection of fees), team management and ensuring compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted standards.

This is a hands-on role combining leadership, planning, and active delivery — you’ll work directly with children and families to create safe, inclusive, and stimulating play environments.

About You

Essential skills and experience:

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in Playwork, Early Years, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working directly with children aged 4–11.
• Strong understanding of EYFS and Ofsted requirements.

• Confident leading active, outdoor or adventure-based play.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Job Title: Housing Lead

Location: Location: Bermondsey, Close to Surrey Quays station. (This location is hidden due to the sensitive nature of the service) Please note that this service has step free and lift access. 

Salary: £30,400

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and resident requirements.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new community based service supporting offenders as they transition from prison back into the community; rather than a custodial setting, where residents are able to go out into the community depending on their licence restrictions. As our Housing Lead, you play a vital role in supporting residents futures by working closely with housing stakeholders and residents to create tailored, effective move on plans. You help ensure people have the right tools, support and opportunities to rebuild their lives, reconnect with the community and move forward with confidence in their rehabilitation journey.

Some Key Responsibilities include:

• Act as the main point of contact between landlords, housing associations, local authorities, private landlords, wider Social Interest Group Services, and our residents
• Work with the wider team to support residents with their long term needs
• Provide specialist support to the wider team to ensure they are regularly trained and kept up to date with policies and procedures, including government changes
• Provide regular reports and updates
• Manage current resident tenancies, ensuring timely rent payment
• Support with property and building management and maintenance including scheduling repairs

About You

We're looking for someone who has knowledge on different types of tenancies, an understanding of the types of needs of our resident group, and able to provide tailored solutions to meet their long term goals. You will have a true passion to support in making a change, supporting rehabilitation, and providing opportunities to people to make positive changes to their lives, and reintegrate into society. You will have a general understanding of the criminal justice system, and/or have experience supporting people with multiple/complex needs. Further, you will have:

• Previous experience in coordinating/delivering activities and interventions with people from different backgrounds
• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector
• Knowledge of risk management and risk assessment
• Knowledge of license conditions and public protection
• Knowledge of tenancy management, able to share knowledge with others in the team and residents
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• The ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Ability to form and build effective relationships and rapport with others
• Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others; Proactive in making decisions
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
