The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Fundraising and Events Lead to join our growing team. This is a new and exciting opportunity to shape the future of M7 Education’s fundraising strategy and be the driving force behind our next phase of growth.

You’ll take the lead in developing new income streams, building strong relationships with donors and fundraisers, and creating inspiring fundraising events and campaigns. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll have the freedom to innovate, test new ideas, and lay the groundwork for a future fundraising function within the charity.

This is a hands-on role that’s perfect for someone with experience in charity fundraising and event management who’s eager to make a tangible difference in education.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase income across multiple channels.
• Manage relationships with individual fundraisers, supporting their journeys and ensuring excellent stewardship.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising events — both third-party events (such as the SuperHalfs series) and M7-run initiatives.
• Research, write, and submit compelling grant applications to trusts and foundations.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in charity fundraising, with a track record of generating income.
• Proven experience in event planning and delivery.

• Confident working independently and taking initiative in a small, fast-moving team.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically about income growth.

Desirable:

• Experience in the education or children’s charity sector.

The Project Officer supports the effective delivery of HACT’s community-focused programmes, with a particular emphasis on operational coordination, partner engagement, and service administration. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the role ensures that project activities—such as voucher distribution, data management, and partner communications—are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with organisational standards.

Job Purpose

To coordinate and administer the delivery of HACT’s community support projects, with a focus on the Fuel Fund and related initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate processing of partner requests and maintaining strong relationships with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and other stakeholders. The Project Officer plays a vital role in ensuring that residents receive support efficiently via our partners, while contributing to the overall success and impact of HACT’s programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general administration of the Fuel Fund
• Be the primary point of contact for all Fuel Fund queries (internal and external)
• Manage Expression of Interest requests from Housing Associations, local authorities and third sector organisations, ensuring they meet the qualifying criteria and terms of the Fund
• Manage voucher requests, ensuring they meet qualifying criteria, and issuing to referral partners across the UK
• Manage, and evolve as needed, quality control processes
• Manage collation of reporting data from Housing Associations and other referral partners
• Analyse multiple data sets and produce reports on the Fuel Fund for HACT and external stakeholders
• Provide updates to key HACT staff about distribution progress

Required Skills

Essential

• Administrative experience with a good knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office

Job Accountabilities

Complete fuel fund and voucher allocations as per agreed timelines.

Ensure projects operate with a sufficient number of sector partners, for example the number of housing associations referring into the fuel fund.

Monitor and review project reach and impact, using this learning to shape any new methods of delivery, e.g. pilots with other sector partners to reach new audiences.

Collaborate with colleagues to communicate the project opportunities and learning at regular intervals, contributing to the wider thought leadership and collaboration objectives of the Communities team.

Maintain positive relationships with project funder(s), by sharing project data in line with agreements.

Ensure high quality delivery of the project, ensuring robust systems are in place to record activity and monitor compliance with the terms and conditions of the project, improving systems as needed, to support partner engagement and voucher redemption.

Coordinate and lead day to day communications with sector partners participating in the project and ensure feedback is collected and reviewed from project partners and beneficiaries.

Team Beacon

Team Beacon is the charity’s fundraising event brand, bringing together supporters through challenge events, campaigns, and volunteering. The Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser will work closely with the fundraising team to integrate corporate teams into Team Beacon activities, encourage staff engagement, and develop sponsorship packages for major events such as The Brighton Half Marathon, which we own, and community challenges. Business Networking Events

The postholder will represent The Sussex Beacon at a variety of business networking events, including LGBTQ+ network events, across Sussex and beyond. The Fundraiser will be proactive in identifying and attending relevant events, from Chamber of Commerce meetings to local business expos, ensuring The Sussex Beacon maintains a visible and professional presence in the corporate community.

· Maintain accurate records of partner interactions and income through the charity’s CRM system.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Demonstrated success in major donor fundraising, including personally securing substantial gifts (five and six figures); proven ability to build from scratch, cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals.
• Proven expertise in individual giving, including donor journeys, donor retention and engagement, and developing bespoke campaigns.
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of building, motivating, and developing high-performing fundraising teams.
• Up-to-date understanding of the fundraising compliance environment (Fundraising Regulator's Code, GDPR, PECR).
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset and the ability to use data to inform strategy, track performance, and drive growth.
• Creative approach to stewardship, recognising, thanking, and meaningfully involving supporters at all levels.
• Passion, resilience, and integrity aligned with the charity’s mission.
• A recognised fundraising qualification (e.g. Certificate/Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising or equivalent).
• Inspiring and experienced team leader.

Desirable:

Join Mencap as our Finance Lead – Fundraising & Communications, Advocacy and Activism (CAA) and play a pivotal role in maximising the impact of our fundraising and advocacy work. 

About the Role

As part of our collaborative Finance Business Partnering team, you’ll support fundraising, communications, advocacy, and activism across Mencap. You’ll provide clear financial advice, insightful analysis, and strong financial management to ensure our fundraising income is used effectively to benefit people with learning disabilities. 

Over the next five years Mencap have big ambitions to significantly grow our fundraising income and increase our influencing and campaigning impact to ensure people with a learning disability can live life to the full. 

This role is a full time permanent position.There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK. You will need to travel occasionally for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely. 

Key responsibilities include:

· Partnering with directorate teams to create robust budgets and forecasts, offering support and advice for realistic financial planning.

· Providing clear financial reports and analysis to help teams understand results, spot emerging issues, and make informed decisions.

· Supporting complex income forecasting (e.g. legacies), using scenario analysis to guide planning and assess risk.

· Delivering financial analysis and modelling to support investment decisions.

· Ensuring funding applications and management of restricted funds are accurate and compliant.

· Improving finance processes and reporting, including with our new Salesforce fundraising CRM system.

· Acting as key contact for external auditors and funders regarding fundraising financials.

· Ensuring accounting and financial compliance with Charity SORP and other relevant regulations.

· Managing and coaching an FBP team member, supporting their development.

What You’ll Bring

· Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or equivalent).

· Proven experience in finance business partnering, ideally within a charity or fundraising environment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.

· Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.

· Clear communication and influencing skills, able to explain financial information to others.

· Motivation to improve systems and processes.

· Commitment to improving the lives of people with a learning disability.

Highly desirable:

· Knowledge of Charity SORP and charity finance regulations.

· Experience with restricted reserves and external reporting to funders.

· Familiarity with fundraising bids, donor engagement, and business development.

· Salesforce and/or Power BI experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and compassionate organisation. The role is offered as a part-time opportunity (3.5 days p/w), working from home.

Working within a dynamic Community and Events Team, this role will oversee a digital fundraising programme that currently raises over £2.1 million annually. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of three and delivering a busy calendar of digital events, driving innovation and engagement while maintaining world-class supporter experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategy and delivery of the charity’s digital fundraising events.
• Manage, motivate and develop a team of digital fundraising staff.
• Build and optimise paid social media campaigns across key platforms.
• Develop and deliver exceptional supporter stewardship programmes.
• Build and manage relationships with agencies, partners and stakeholders.

About You:

You’ll bring proven experience in digital fundraising or similar income-generating digital roles, be a confident project manager, able to oversee multiple campaigns and meet KPIs and have strong experience with paid social media advertising and digital supporter journeys.
