Legasee is a charity committed to ensuring that future generations can learn about our history through the personal recollections of the men and women who witnessed it first-hand. We provide students, teachers and researchers with unique access to a high-definition video archive of interviews with veterans and civilians connected to British military conflict from 1939 to the present day.

We are now seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major new oral history project focusing on the Aden Emergency, made possible thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. At its heart, the project will record the oral histories of 30–40 veterans and civilians whose lives were shaped by service in, or connection to, Aden during the final years of British rule.

The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for project planning, delivery, reporting and budget controland will work closely with project partners and funders to ensure that agreed outcomes are met. The role will provide leadership and direction to the project team and its volunteer network, ensuring that activity is well coordinated, realistic and delivered to a high standard.

The recorded testimonies will form a permanent digital archive and support public engagement, interpretation,and learning, ensuring that the experiences of those who served are not forgotten. A key part of the role will be the recruitment, coordination and ongoing support of a part-time Project Coordinator.The Project Coordinator will lead volunteer engagement, research support, transcription, and day-to-day project activities.

Education is central to the project. The Project Manager will oversee the development of educational activity delivered in partnership with schools and community groups, ensuring that young people are supported to explore the history and legacy of the Aden Emergency through original research, oral history and the thoughtful use of digital technologies. This work will result in the creation of new teaching resources, deeper community engagement and strengthened links with educational and cultural institutions nationwide.

The role is home-based, with flexible working hours agreed to ensure effective delivery of the project and coordination with partners.

If successful, your role will be:

• To work with the charity, its partners and the Project Steering Group to complete the project, in line with the requirements of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and within a rigorous evaluation framework.
• To work with the lead oral historian to create a video archive of the personal experiences and observations of up to 40 veterans of the Aden Emergency and ensure that all participants are supported throughout the entire process.
• To work with volunteers and project partners to develop and launch a new interpretation. 
• To work with a local school to deliver creative ways of learning about oral history.
• To be responsible for the overall recruitment, training and participation of all volunteers in the Project,ensuring that they benefit from their involvement by gaining new life skills and a greater understanding of the role of veterans of the Aden Emergency.

This is an exciting new post in a growing charity, working alongside the Fundraising and Communications Team to support the Youth Zone. The Fundraising Officer will be responsible for providing essential administrative support to the Head of Fundraising & Communications and wider fundraising team. The charity is founded on support from high value donors and you will support the team to engage this group of stakeholders.

As part of a fundraising and communications team of 5, you’ll report to the Head of Fundraising & Communications. You will support with writing grant applications and funder reports, and be accountable for day-to-day funder administration and correspondence. Some of the key duties for this role include thanking Patrons, supporting events and researching prospective donors and new opportunities for funding.

About You

You’ll be confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders and bring strong organisational and IT skills. You’ll also be proactive, positive, and able to juggle multiple deadlines.

• Experience working within a busy office or administrative environment
• Ability to produce clear written information for reports and correspondence
• Strong communication skills and people skills
• Good IT skills including Outlook, Excel, and CRM systems

The Triage Administrator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of our Council funded Adult Bereavement Service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This service aims to provide accessible, accessible, empathetic and effective support for adults affected by bereavement, particularly sudden or drug/alcohol-related deaths. The Triage Administrator will work collaboratively as part of the local and regional volunteer and staff team.

Introduction

We are looking for a Senior Brand Manager to lead on our brand marketing campaigns and drive forwards new brand reach initiatives.

Working within the RSPB’s brand team you will help bring our brand to life, shift perceptions, and build brand affinity amongst new and existing audiences by planning and delivering impactful brand campaigns. and working closely with the fundraising and campaigning teams on their activities.

This is a fixed term contract to provide cover within the brand team during a period of maternity leave.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development and review of insight-led brand marketing campaigns
• With the Head of Brand, deliver brand reach initiatives to grow the RSPB’s top of funnel metrics. From early discovery through to delivery and measurement, always leading the delivery phase and marketing planning specifically.
• Brand Business Partner for teams driving strategic and high reach marcomms activities e.g. Supporter Fundraising, Commercial, Campaigns & Mobilisation and Brand & Marketing - providing brand consultancy to ensure the brand is well executed in external campaigns and comms to build brand equity.
• Share insight on brand health and brand related business metrics through collaboration with the Head of Market Research & Insight. Identify actions arising from the insight and set strategic direction with support from Head of Brand where necessary.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience of developing multi-channel campaigns rooted in audience insight.
• Experienced in brand tracking and measurement, and using it to shape marketing and communications plans.
• Expertise in brand strategy and positioning
• Experience leading marketing projects and new initiatives.
• Curious and collaborative, the role holder will be skilled at influencing across the organisation, proactively identifying opportunities to improve outcomes by providing support and challenge through insight and evidence.
• Experienced at developing collaborative external and internal relationships with key stakeholders to secure positive brand outcomes
• Excellent written and verbal skills to present, influence and represent the directorate and the organisation.
• Logical and methodical, analytical and a good eye for detail.

General information

From time-to-time, and particularly at the start of a new project or campaign, you will be expected to come together with the rest of a project or campaign team, or workstream, and co-locate face-to-face for a few days. There will be some meetings together, and also the opportunity to work side by side on the project for a short period. The RSPB will subsidise any required accommodation or travel as per our Expenses Policy.  This will help build relationships, break down silos, and make working together online easier and more enjoyable. This co-location will usually be at an RSPB office and will be agreed in advance. Outside of these co-location moments you will be based in your contracted place of work as usual. Reasonable adjustment to the above can be discussed with the Line Manager.
