As Counselling Service Manager, you will co-lead a high-quality counselling and psychotherapy service rooted in our communities and guided by our values: Inclusive, Responsive, Evolving and Together. You will provide co-leadership and day-to-day operational oversight over the counselling service, including clinical supervision for paid staff and volunteers.

Working alongside the Clinical Lead, you will uphold robust clinical governance, safeguarding and risk management, ensuring consistent ethical practice and high professional standards. You will lead the design and implementation of systems that support safe, effective and efficient service delivery, and use data to evidence impact and support reporting to commissioners and funders.

Where appropriate, you will hold a clinical caseload and deliver counselling or psychotherapy for clients with complex needs and multiple disadvantage, drawing on evidence-informed and trauma-informed approaches. You will model reflective practice, cultural humility and a strong client focus.

Additionally, you will be able to think strategically to develop new and existing services that meet the needs of service users. With a strong outcomes-focused and data-driven approach, you will lead on the design, implementation and delivery of systems that support the effective operation of services. You will have strong interpersonal skills that will allow you to build good working relationships with clients, volunteer and paid staff members and stakeholders.

This is an office-based role.

What you will do:

Help us make and manage investments through research and analysis, including:

• Undertaking research and detailed analysis to help us understand social issues and market gaps where social impact investment can help support a solution, within our market systems (social property, social lending, impact venture and social outcomes); synthesize and present these; and monitor relevant market data and update the team on relevant developments in the market systems, for example related to the issues, asset classes and policy areas.

• Undertaking supplementary analysis of performance, benchmarks and other research that helps enhance our understanding of performance of the portfolio.

Support prospective investments through our investment process across our market systems, including:

• Undertaking detailed investment analysis, including of the market, the prospective investee, and the financial, social impact and systems change cases;

• Assisting in preparing and presenting investment recommendations to our Investment Committee;

• Project management such as ensuring the consistent application of our investment process and the tracking of new investment opportunities in the pipeline; and,

• Helping deal leads and legal team negotiate legal documents and close transactions.

  This will likely involve specialising in one market system for a period of time.

Support management of our existing portfolio investments, including:

• Supporting and co-ordinating fund manager reporting of that helps BSC to assess the contribution of the investments to our systems change, impact and financial goals across our portfolio and in the relevant market system

• Undertaking data gathering, aggregation and detailed analysis to evaluate impact and financial performance across portfolios of investments in our market systems, including working with fund managers on individual investments

Systems change agent

• Supporting delivery of key strategic projects in BSC’s market systems, including through project management

• Supporting our engagement work with investors and with charities and social enterprises to deliver on our market system goals, for example helping to co-ordinate networks and events in partnership with Investment Networks and Engagement teams .

Legacy giving is a vital and growing part of Greenpeace UK's fundraising programme, generating £5–7.5 million each year and playing a crucial role in securing long-term, sustainable income. Following a recent step-change in investment, there is now a significant opportunity to accelerate growth and position legacy giving more centrally across Greenpeace UK’s fundraising and supporter engagement.

This role is central to Greenpeace UK’s legacy programme, managing a varied caseload from straightforward estates to complex and high-value cases. As a newly created position, it brings legacy administration fully in-house and will play a key role in ensuring income is realised in full, accurately managed, and delivered in line with best practice.

As Legacy Case Manager, you will: 

• Manage a caseload of residuary, pecuniary, life interest, discretionary, and high-value legacies, including contentious cases
• Lead on the preparation, monitoring and reporting of the legacy income budget and mid year forecasts, working closely with Finance and Fundraising colleagues to provide accurate, timely projections and variance analysis
• Work closely with internal teams and build effective external relationships with solicitors, executors and families to support positive outcomes
• Identify and resolve complex issues involving probate, trusts, tax, property, or litigation
• Represent Greenpeace UK externally with professionalism, fostering constructive relationships with pledgers, executors, solicitors, and sector peers
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Charity Commission guidance, and ILM best practice

Essential skills and experience:

• Substantial experience in charity legacy and estate administration, both contentious and non-contentious
• Significant knowledge of probate, trusts, tax, and property issues relevant to legacy casework
• Strong understanding of sector best practice in legacy administration and charity law
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume and varied caseload to deadlines
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Diplomacy, empathy, and resilience in handling contentious or sensitive cases

A legal, probate, or legacy administration qualification is advantageous but not required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Variety is looking for an experienced Facilities and Office Manager who is proactive and highly organised to oversee the smooth day-to-day running of Variety’s offices in Camden. This role blends operations, facilities management, and people-first thinking, ensuring the workspace is safe, efficient, and enjoyable for everyone. Variety House is owned by the charity and has three floors which house our busy charity team and one floor is occupied by a tenant. The role requires management of the building, office management, tenants and includes assisting the CEO as required.

ABOUT VARIETY

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Management:

• Oversee management of Variety House in Camden including building maintenance, safety procedures, office operations and infrastructure
• Liaise with tenants and external contractors to ensure facilities are well-maintained
• Monitor and manage office budgets related to supplies, utilities, and maintenance
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations including managing risk assessments and fire safety
• Lead sustainability initiatives within the office (e.g. recycling, energy-saving practices)
• Ensuring health and safety compliance for staff including being the designated fire marshal (training to be provided)
• Ensure competitive quotes for office services and building maintenance, making recommendations based on quality, reliability, and value
• Negotiate contracts to optimise costs without compromising standards, identifying areas for cost savings and facilities improvements

 Office Management:

• Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for staff, tenants and visitors
• Manage office vendors including maintenance, cleaning, and security
• Manage office supplies inventory, supporting staff to ensure when items run low that orders are placed
• Manage kitchen supplies and maintenance for all staff
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes from a facilities perspective, managing keys and security
• Handle incoming mail and deliveries and ensure efficient distribution across the building
• First point of contact for calls, visitors, and office enquiries

Governance:

• Assistance the CEO during busy periods with diary management and in-office meetings
• Support the CEO with organisation of Trustee meetings and administrative assistance, such as minute taking as required.

Administrative:

• Maintain records of office leases, utilities, and insurance policies
• Manage access control systems and office security
• Create and maintain facilities manuals, process documentation, and onboarding guides

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Experience with the charity or Not-for-profit sector

About the role

As a Housing Rights Worker, you will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy to individuals and families with the ultimate aim of helping them thrive in their communities. Your work will be in line with London Hub’s priorities of improving the practice of local authorities and Registered Social Landlords and focussing on households disproportionately affected by the housing emergency. Working alongside people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities, you will deliver casework to families to resolve their housing situation as well as engaging with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand and address the housing issues in London.

In your community work you will ensure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their stories, give their views and have their say in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.

You will have demonstrable experience of working with families and vulnerable people and/or people with multiple and complex needs, within a safeguarding framework. You have experience and knowledge of housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support your clients to make informed decisions. You are able to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences and collaborate with others to get the job done.

Our London hub specialises in providing housing advice and emergency homelessness work, intensive support to families and individuals, people experiencing domestic abuse and people experiencing multiple disadvantage. We provide front line support to over 5,000 people a year and work to bring about systemic change with the ultimate aim of people being able to live securely in suitable, safe, affordable homes.

Based in Old Street, the Shelter London Hub services specialises in providing housing advice and emergency homelessness work, intensive support to families, people experiencing domestic abuse, and people experiencing multiple disadvantage, preventing homelessness and helping them to access safe and affordable homes. The team also support the community to address systemic issues that may prevent families or individuals from sustaining a home, providing targeted advice sessions in community settings, with the aim of building capacity within communities to campaign on housing issues.
