Uplift supports efforts to create a rapid and fair transition away from oil and gas production in the UK. We urgently need to phase out oil and gas drilling to stay within safe climate limits. Yet, despite having renewable resources in abundance, the UK remains Europe’s second largest oil and gas producer. We can and must be ambitious about moving past oil and gas production, while empowering and supporting workers and communities who rely on the industry for their livelihoods. Working with everyone from policy-makers and Parliamentarians, to academics and campaigners, Uplift undertakes research, analysis and campaigning to support a rapid and fair transition away from oil and gas production in the UK.

Main Role & Responsibilities

The post holder will be an active member of our programmes team and will work across our portfolio of programmes, with responsibility for engagement within Wales. Although remote working, they would need to be living in Wales for travel purposes.

They will be responsible for regional stakeholder engagement, developing and maintaining relationships and promoting Ygam training. They will recruit suitable delegates to Ygam’s full portfolio of workshops.

They will provide training both face to face and online and will be responsible for the delivery of our assured workshops and promoting the work of Ygam at conferences and events.

To support the engagement and activation of key audiences to take action in support of ending the need for food banks. Responsible for delivering mobilisation opportunities and actions to new and existing supporters and driving meaningful change through action.

Audience engagement and supporter activation

Child Bereavement UK is a digital first organisation leading the way in Digital Transformation across the Bereavement sector. This role will play a vital part in helping Child Bereavement UK turn up the dial across our Regional Fundraising team.

The Head of Regional Fundraising is responsible for overseeing our team of Regional Fundraising Managers and Challenge Events team to maximise income from community groups and associations, businesses and individuals as well as leading the growth and diversity of the challenge events portfolio.

Alongside leading the regional team, you will also be the main point of contact for our team of Community Ambassador Volunteers. You will work with them to keep them engaged, inspired and active with great training, communication, and by providing them with the tools, materials and resources they need to fulfil their roles across the country. 

You will develop outstanding supporter relationships and delivering long-term sustainable income through innovative, audience led fundraising. 

Main Responsibilities

Leadership 

· To lead and inspire the Regional Fundraising team fostering a collaborative and high performing culture that delivers against income and objectives 

· Provide clear and supportive leadership that motivates staff to achieve, develop and grow in their roles 

· Undertake quarterly reviews for all direct reports 

Regional Fundraising 

· Grow sustainable income by inspiring individuals, groups, schools, businesses and volunteers to support our work

· Build meaningful relationships and provide outstanding donor care from first contact through to long-term stewardship

· Lead on the strategy and development of Fundraising Committees across the country

· Lead the development of all fundraising products, propositions and community and events, to effectively acquire and engage our mass audience target markets 

· Working alongside the Volunteer Manager lead on the recruitment and retention of the Community Ambassadors programme

· Use innovation and donor and market research to help define and shape Child Bereavement UK Regional fundraising offer 

· Maximise income, by overseeing the development of key income sources, including community, challenge events and regional challenge events

· Drive an innovation-focused culture, constantly evolving our product offerings to expand the charity’s reach and impact 

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge on sector and market trends, the legal environment impacting on public fundraising and ensure compliance with standards determined by Fundraising Regulator 

Strategy, Planning and reporting  

· Develop and execute bold strategies to grow the charity’s Regional Fundraising portfolio, optimising supporter journey and maximising income generation 

· Develop case for support information and tools for effective ways of working, including approval processes

· Work with the Director of Income Generation to develop the annual budget, including leading on monthly performance reports and contributing to quarterly reforecasts and reporting against KPI’s and milestones 

· Oversee the development of supporter journeys and stewardship of all Regional audiences and key community relationships to maximise retention and ensure long-term income growth

· Identify and develop new income generating opportunities across Regional Fundraising 

· Ensure that we provide an excellent supporter experience to all our supporters, regardless of value 

· Proactively manage all aspects of Regional Fundraising to increase our supporter base and maximise income 

· Coach, train and inspire your colleagues across the organisation on the importance of excellent supporter care.

Essential

· A proven track record in Regional or Community fundraising roles leading on the development of new, successful programmes

· Demonstratable strong strategic planning skills and the ability to develop and implement long-term strategies to achieve fundraising targets and enhance the charity's mission

· Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience in overseeing multi-disciplinary teams. Essential experience includes team leadership, staff motivation, setting clear objectives, and fostering a collaborative work environment

· Experience in effectively developing, managing and reporting complex income and expenditure budgets

· Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels and excellent written skills

· Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

This role will join an ambitious programme developing the capacity of the Libraries Connected public library networks. We want to help them evolve as strategic partnerships able to deliver social impacts at scale and to secure resources and investment from national, regional and sub-regional government. Be key to the development of libraries as essential social infrastructure, and help them secure the resources they need to make an impact. 

The role is part of a small team of two Regional Managers, supported by an Administrator. 

By developing our existing regional networks into formal, resourced structures we can enable the regions to: 

• Secure investment for the service and for the libraries from regional and devolved / combined authority funds.
• Create unique regional offers to meet specific needs across and within the regional areas.
• Deliver at scale. For example, the Yorkshire & Humber regional network has 15 library services, and 348 library buildings. 
• Create opportunities for cost saving – through joint procurement and shared / collaborative services. 
• Share good practice and experience on a formal and integrated basis. 

We have 9 regional networks in England, covering all library services and ranging in size from 9 to 33 services. Within each region they provide hundreds of library branches, thousands of staff, and serve millions of service users.  They have a long tradition of working together as peer support networks and to deliver activities such as festivals, marketing, and staff training.

We are an independent charity that supports, promotes and represents public libraries. Our work is driven and led by our membership, which includes almost every library service in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Crown Dependencies (Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man).

Job summary

This role will predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer across the UK in the effective planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training to meet the strategic objectives. The postholder will be required to work directly with young people and their families, schools, colleagues, partner organisations and professionals, delivering accredited training across the UK.

The person

You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. You will have a friendly and professional approach to working with families and professionals and be highly organised to manage planning, delivery and relevant paperwork for all wheelchair skills services. 

Key accountabilities

• Coordination and delivery of wheelchair skills training, travel training and train the trainer across the UK.
• Conduct on site visits prior to delivery of travel training to plan routes and inform risk assessments.
• Book relevant modes of transport for travel training sessions.
• Writing Service Level Agreements for key partners; content providers and schools.
• Obtaining information from content providers and schools, such as Public Liability, DBS and key Risk Assessments.
• Writing Care Plans & Risk Assessments.
• Ensure schools complete paperwork for accredited services and liaise with Skills & Education group regarding learners
• Sending event invites to young people and families and updating the database as required.
• Updating all documentation for events and participants onto the database.
• Promoting Whizz Kidz services to third party organisations in order to drive new applications/referrals.
• Attending events such as Kidz to Adultz exhibitions to promote Whizz Kidz and showcase wheelchair skills training.
• Ensuring feedback and monitoring data is collected at each event and at set intervals after the event in order to measure long term impact.
• Collate information for case studies to measure impact of training.
• Liaising with Trainers when required.
• Liaising with young people, families and schools as required.
• Ordering equipment and resources where needed.
• Attending Whizz Kidz services across the country if required in order to support the Service Delivery Managers and Services Support Officer.
• Attending Team Meetings and contributing to the development of Whizz Kidz services.
