Job description

XLP is a youth work charity working to create positive futures for young people and at the cutting edge of
tackling poverty and educational failure in inner London. We deliver holistic, long-term work with young
people aged 11 to 25 in schools and communities.

We are looking for a passionate Mentoring Specialist to join our team. The role involves recruiting, training
and supervising volunteer mentors from the local community to support young people engaged in the XLP
Mentoring Programme.

You will be enabling support for young people who may be navigating complex challenges, including
community safety concerns and the risks of exploitation. The XLP Mentoring Programme focuses on
supporting young people aged 11 to 18 who are at risk of school exclusion, involvement in crime or social
isolation. Through consistent, positive relationships we help young people build confidence, make positive
choices and see a hopeful future.

If you are committed to creating lasting change and have the skills to connect with and inspire community
volunteers to support young people, we would love to hear from you.

This full-time role will be based out of our Stratford Hub in Newham, though all mentoring roles are located
according to need and so working locations may change accordingly.
