We have an exciting, new opportunity for a Research Officer (Fundraising Prospect Research) to join the Rhodes Trust, Oxford. This role is based within the Global Engagement department, focusing on Development and Alumni Engagement, based at Rhodes House.
We are looking for the successful candidate to ideally start with us in Mid-March 2026.

The role
The Research Officer will help provide a high-quality in-house prospect research service to the senior leadership team and the Warden (CEO) of the Trust. The Research Officer will report to the Research Manager, work closely with the major gift team located in the UK, Canada, Australia and the United States, and gain first-hand knowledge and experience working as an in-house prospect research professional for a highly regarded educational charity.
The role will be responsible for;
· Providing a high-quality in-house prospect research service to the Development Team and senior leaders including the Warden (CEO) of the Trust, and Trustees, as required
· Contributing to the proactive identification of potential major donors and partners to the Rhodes Trust including alumni, individuals, foundations and corporates
· Delivering a pipeline of briefing materials for the Warden (CEO) and senior leadership team to support key fundraising and stakeholder meetings, events and overseas travel itineraries as requested
· Assisting with compiling and managing a portfolio of additional research materials and projects, including profiles, network mapping, philanthropy reports, and targeted analysis, as well as country-specific content to support the Trust’s fundraising efforts in different geographies
· Recording and managing prospect and stakeholder data using the Trust’s CRM database (Salesforce)
· Role modelling the Trust’s organisational values of commitment, inclusion, belonging, growth and innovation
· Carrying out any other duties relevant to the role, as requested
· Having a deep commitment to the values, ethos and mission of the Rhodes Trust

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
· Previous experience in an educational Development and / or alumni office – direct experience in prospect research would be a plus
· Reliable and responsible with excellent written communication skills and an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to use initiative and creatively source information to identify opportunities and map connections
· Ability to keep information confidential and exercise discretion
· Experience of accurate data entry and record maintenance; good working knowledge of a CRM system and competency in creating and running reports from a database
· Excellent IT skills, including experience with Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
· An interest in the educational sector

Main purpose of the role
Following a period of financial transformation, we are seeking a highly experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to both the Finance Team and the wider Community.

- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items prior to month-end close;
- Process and maintain petty cash reconciliations, credit card transactions, cheques, and paying-in slips, ensuring all receipts are accurately recorded in the accounting system;
- Process weekly purchase ledger invoices and payment run;
- Process donations, grants, legacies and other income, allocating incoming payments to invoices;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements;
Key essential criteria
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role;
- Advanced knowledge of Excel;
- High level of competence in MS Office;
- Knowledge of Business Central finance software (MS Dynamics) or equivalent experience;

Overview of post:
This is a 12-month paid internship starting in March 2026, supported by the Jack Petchey Internship
Programme. The successful candidate must be available to take up the post by Monday 23rd
March 2026. This internship is designed to provide a structured learning and development
opportunity for someone interested in building a career in the youth, charity, and/or community
sector. The post-holder will gain specialist knowledge working with unpaid Carers and their
families, as well as exposure to how the broader health, social care, and education sectors
operate.
The post-holder will support the delivery of activities and breaks for Young Carers (YCs) and
Young Adult Carers (YACs), including social, educational, and wellbeing groups, groups which
support YC and YAC personal development, create opportunities to build friendships and peer
support networks as well as provide time out from caring roles.
They will help raise awareness of Young Carers by attending e.g. outreach events and school
assemblies alongside staff, will contribute to identifying new YCs, and undertake a specific
project focused on engaging more YACs aged 18–25. This project will involve researching their
needs and preferences and piloting activities to meet these.
Through Sutton Carers Centre’s support and the additional opportunities provided by the Jack
Petchey Internship Programme, this internship offers a high-quality, developmental experience
for someone starting out in the sector. It could be particularly rewarding for someone who has
lived experience of caring and/or wants to develop specialist knowledge and skills in this area.
Principal Tasks
Activity Delivery
• Support the planning, organisation, and delivery of creative, educational, therapeutic
and/or social group activities, workshops, and trips for YCs and YACs.
• Attend school assemblies and other outreach events with colleagues to raise awareness
of Young Carers and help identify new referrals.
• Encourage YCs/YACs to participate in the planning and shaping of activities, including
through forums and feedback.
• Contribute to creating safe, inclusive, and positive environments where YCs/YACs feel
valued and supported.
Young Adult Carers Project
• Lead a time-limited project to engage YACs (18–25), engaging with currently identified
YACs about their interests and barriers to participation.
• Design and pilot a programme of activities and breaks based on findings, with support
from colleagues.
• Contribute ideas of how we can identify and support more YACs.
• Share learning and recommendations with the wider team to inform future service
delivery.
Learning and Development
• Take part in regular supervision, induction and a structured training programme,
including safeguarding, project planning, group work, and communication skills.
• Shadow colleagues across Sutton Carers Centre to build knowledge of Carer support
and wider health and social care systems.
• Receive mentoring to support professional and personal development.
Partnerships and Networking
• Work alongside staff to liaise with schools, colleges, and other community organisations,
as well as colleagues in social care and health settings.
• Build relationships with external partners, providing opportunities to network with other
organisations and potential employers.
• Help promote SCC’s activities through newsletters, social media, and events.
Monitoring and Evaluation
• Support the collection of feedback and monitoring data from activities and events.
• Assist with record keeping, reporting, and communications.
Policies & Procedures:
• Carry out the above duties with due regard at all times to the Equality, Diversity &
Inclusion, Data Protection & Confidentiality, Safeguarding, Environmental, Business
Continuity, Health & Safety and all other policies and procedures of Sutton Carers
Centre.
Other Duties
• To attend and take advantage of managerial and/or peer supervision, team/staff
meetings and undertake appropriate training and any other professional or personal
development.
• To develop and maintain current and accurate personal knowledge of unpaid Carers’
issues and any statutory or legislative changes.
• To participate in staff meetings, staff forums and training events.
• To be flexible with your availability for working hours, as the role will include very
occasional, weekend and evening work, for which you will receive TOIL.
• To work as part of an overall team, contributing to the development of the Centre and
participating in activities, fundraising and promotional events.
• To undertake other duties as appropriate to the post, as agreed with your Line
Manager.

Women at the Well is a support service for women based in the King’s Cross area of central London. We provide practical support and advocacy to women facing a wide range of disadvantages, and we have a specialism in working with women whose lives have been affected by prostitution and/or sexual exploitation. We are trauma informed, holistic and woman-centred. We deliver our mission through three interconnected services:
1. A women only drop-in service
2. An advocacy service
3. An outreach service

Women at the Well has supported thousands of women over more than twenty years work in London. We see the complex ways in which women’s inequality, racism, disability and poor health, educational disadvantage, trauma in childhood, migration and the hostile immigration environment can all lead to significant social and economic disadvantages and harm. In our work we meet women who have experienced repeated and extensive abuse, and who are often homeless, living with addictions and/or mental health issues, and in poverty. We see how these women are at high risk of a range of sexually exploitative behaviours including prostitution. As well as providing tailored support, we aim to speak up for the rights of women to live lives free from abuse.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Head of Fundraising & Partnerships will lead the development and delivery of Women at The Well’s fundraising strategy, ensuring we build the sustainable and diverse income base needed to continue supporting women facing extraordinary disadvantage, exploitation and harm. As a senior, hands-on fundraiser, the postholder will take responsibility for income generation across trusts and foundations, individual philanthropy, corporate partnerships and community fundraising, while building the systems, relationships and communications that underpin long-term growth.
Working closely with the CEO—an experienced trusts fundraiser—the postholder will identify opportunities, cultivate relationships, steward supporters, craft compelling cases for support, and drive forward multi-stream fundraising with clarity and purpose. They will coordinate the CEO’s involvement in major fundraising opportunities and act as a strategic partner, ensuring the organisation’s leadership has what they need to secure transformational funding.
This role sits at the heart of a small, values-driven team committed to trauma-informed, women-centred work. The postholder must bring emotional resilience, sound judgement and a deep respect for the dignity and lived experiences of the women who use our service. About the Role
One of Learning with Parents’ objectives over the next five years is to evidence how best to drive inclusive parental engagement. We are looking for an individual with experience in monitoring and evaluation to join our team.
The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for evaluating our programmes to capture the impact we have, inform improvements internally and share insights externally. The role will begin with implementing an existing evaluation plan and develop into leading improvements and innovations in our evaluation strategy. It will involve primary research, such as leading focus groups in schools, as well as analysis of quantitative and qualitative data generated by our platform and surveys of parents and teachers. It will also involve reporting this data and supporting others to do so. The Evaluation Manager will be responsible for maintaining tools and processes around evaluation and ensuring strong internal and external communications of findings.
This is a role which involves extensive collaboration across different internal teams and with external stakeholders such as schools and funders.
Areas of Responsibility
Evaluation design and planning

About Friends of Ibba Girls School (FIGS)
Friends of Ibba Girls School, South Sudan (FIGS), is a registered UK Charity (114620) set up in 2011, at the request of local community leaders to help build and develop a girls’ boarding school in South Sudan. Ibba Girls Boarding School now educates over 320 primary and secondary school girls from across Western Equatoria State and employs around 40 staff.
The school provides high-quality education in a context where most girls leave school before completing primary education and very few reach secondary level. FIGS is a relatively small UK-based charity with a strong national reputation and a substantial impact, demonstrating what high-quality girls’ education can achieve in South Sudan. FIGS works closely with Windle Trust International, which provides technical, financial and organisational support to the school in South Sudan.
FIGS raises approximately £500,000 each year to meet the running and development costs of IGBS and FIGS. Fundraising and effective communications are therefore central to our mission. We are a small team and are looking for someone who will thrive in a varied role, is proactive, organised, and capable of handling multiple demands, with a readiness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
The Role
This role involves supporting both fundraising and communications activities, alongside essential administrative functions. The Fundraising and Communications Officer will play a key role in implementing FIGS’ fundraising and communications plans, supporting donor engagement, campaigns, events, and day-to-day operational administration. You will be working closely with our Head of Fundraising and Communications, ensuring that FIGS has the resources to continue to support the education and boarding of over 320 marginalised girls in South Sudan.

You’ll work closely with product, design, data, teachers and content leaders to ensure our technology choices are grounded in real classroom needs, strong pedagogy and value for money, while also pushing forward what’s possible with the latest approaches and tools. You’ll empower teams to get solutions built and products and features shipped.

What You’ll Be Doing

Develop and manage a high-performing Engineering department, leveraging internal and/or external relationships

Manage the Engineering department budget (minimum of 6-figures)

Accountable for the department's delivery against division and organisation-wide KPIs.

Set and lead Oak’s technical direction, ensuring secure, scalable and high-performing platforms aligned with organisational and product priorities and public sector digital standards.

Oversee software engineering, architecture, embedding engineering excellence, operational reliability, strong SDLC practice and continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with relevant digital, security and data standards (including GDS and GDPR).

Lead the implementation of data-intensive and emerging technologies (including AI/ML), ensuring production-ready systems and compliance with Oak’s technical and safety requirements.

Member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Lead the strategy and planning, and model the culture of the organisation.

Work in cross-functional and product-oriented squads with colleagues from across the organisation, as required.

Deputise for the CEO and take on other general responsibilities as required.
What We’re Looking For
-
3+ years’ experience overseeing engineering or technical capabilities of a department or division.
-
Experience of being part of a senior or wider leadership team.

Experience of recruiting, developing and managing a high-performing department
-
Experience of managing a 6-figure budget and ensuring value for money.

Extensive experience delivering secure, scalable, high-quality digital services in production environments.

Experience implementing and operating data-intensive or emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML), ensuring safe, reliable and responsible deployment.

Experience leading the evolution of engineering systems over time, including evaluating new technologies, scaling cloud-based services, and ensuring high availability, CI/CD maturity and long-term platform resilience.

Experience having deployed production ready AI technology (desirable).

You will be comfortable working at pace, with a range of digital systems (including proprietary ones as required) and you will continuously look at ways that the team can keep getting better. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.

For this role, we will be looking for evidence of technical judgement and engineering thinking, for example, how you approach system design, reliability, security, data or AI safety, rather than production quality or polished demos. The exercise is designed to be accessible to candidates who lead engineering teams and may not code day to day.
Videos will be scored by a small group of assessors using clear criteria.
Stage 3: Interview
A shortlist of candidates will be invited to a competency-based interview, assessed against the criteria set out in the job description.
