Baca is dedicated to providing support and care to 16 to 18 year old unaccompanied asylum seeking children who are newly arrived in the country, helping them rebuild their strength, dignity, and hope for the future. We work closely with social workers and representatives from other agencies to benefit the young people in our care.

Role Overview
As a Support Worker, you will be a key worker for several young people in Baca's care, providing high-quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood. The successful candidate will work within an innovative tenant-led partnership called Ageing Well in Place in Hulme (AWiPiH) which includes tenants and community groups; local and national charities; GPs; housing providers; and support from a local university. 

You will enable older and vulnerable people experiencing multiple disadvantage in high rise accommodation to 'age well in place' through one-to-one casework within a managed caseload and with supervisory support from a GP Fellow. You will work in collaboration with tenant committees; an Ageing Well Development Worker; the GP Fellow; and housing provider neighbourhood teams across two high-rise blocks. AWiPiH takes a preventative and proactive approach to wellbeing including health promotion, improved access to social care, housing adaptations, signposting on welfare rights, income maximisation and social participation. This role requires a person-centred and solution-focused approach to supporting people experiencing multiple and complex issues.

You will have a hybrid working arrangement including some working from home; some working based at a local GP practice; and on-site working across two neighbouring accommodation blocks in Hulme, central Manchester.

As a Legacy Manager, you will manage, protect, and optimise this income. You'll work alongside three other Legacy Managers, supporting the Head of Legacy Management to build on the team’s successes and to optimise the BHF’s income from gifts in Wills.

About you

From interviewing clients with lived experience to co-creating materials for campaigns and public events, you’ll ensure every story is told safely, respectfully, and authentically. You’ll also help identify new storytelling opportunities.

This role is at the heart of StepChange’s External Affairs work. You’ll collaborate with a wide range of colleagues, manage ethical and safeguarding responsibilities, and help build a consistent, trusted approach to client storytelling across the charity.

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience in storytelling or content management within a charity or equivalent organisation. You’ll have hands-on experience engaging with people with lived experience and translating their stories into clear, compelling narratives.

Role summary

Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is recruiting a Fundraising Manager to enhance fundraising capacity and ensure long-term financial sustainability of the organisation. This new role has been designed to work closely with the Head of Programme Engagement, as well as programme and operational colleagues to increase income from philanthropic, bilateral and multilateral donors.

Responsibilities

• Proactively horizon scan for philanthropic, bilateral and multilateral funding opportunities that align with FPP’s mission and Strategic Framework Plan 2025-30.
• Take the lead in researching and assessing new multilateral funding opportunities and, if suitable, develop and implement strategies of engagement.
• Lead on researching, tracking and assessing bilateral funding opportunities and engagement.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of FPP’s country level and thematic work and related partner needs and aspirations.

Person specification

Essential qualities

• Dedicated fundraising professional with a proven track record of successfully securing significant funding from government, multilateral donors and/or trusts and foundations. Exceptional writing skills with excellent ability to translate complex contexts and programme needs into compelling proposals.
• Alignment with the vision, mission and core principles of FPP’s work.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build authentic, influential relationships both externally with funders, and internally with colleagues.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to multiple deadlines.

Desirable qualities

• Existing contacts within relevant government agencies, multilateral donors and/or philanthropic organisations.
• French, Spanish or Bahasa language skills.
• Experience of fundraising for work in the same, or related, field to that of FPP.
• Experience of working with Indigenous Peoples and global south organisations and/or networks.
• Ability to come to the office in Moreton-in-Marsh both regularly and on an ad hoc basis as required.
• Ability to travel internationally (approximately 2 weeks per year, and unlikely to exceed a total of 5 days per trip).
