CHOICE IN HACKNEY is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to develop and coordinate our volunteering programme and support a diverse team of volunteers across the organisation.
You will recruit, induct, train, place and supervise volunteers, including gardeners, befrienders and administrative assistants. You will also support disabled people who want to volunteer, helping them develop their confidence, skills and employment prospects through meaningful volunteering opportunities.
A key part of the role will be matching volunteers with disabled people living in the community. You will assess individual needs, skills, interests, experience and availability to create appropriate and rewarding placements. You will maintain regular contact with volunteers and service users, review placement arrangements, support individual care plans and resolve any issues that arise.
The role also involves maintaining accurate records, gathering feedback, producing reports and working with managers to identify new volunteering opportunities. You will recruit and support a Volunteer Fundraiser and help develop community fundraising initiatives.
We are looking for someone with experience of recruiting and supervising volunteers or staff, supporting disabled people who may be at risk, organising services or projects, administration and partnership working. You will provide one-to-one employment coaching, helping participants identify their strengths, aspirations and goals and develop personalised action plans. You will support people to overcome barriers to employment through practical coaching, encouragement, problem-solving and appropriate signposting.
You will also help plan and deliver CHOICE IN HACKNEY’s Job Club, creating accessible and engaging sessions that encourage confidence, peer learning and mutual support. Alongside this, you will develop relationships with employers, recruitment agencies, training providers and partner organisations to create opportunities for disabled people.
The role recognises that employment can take different forms. You will support participants to explore volunteering, work experience, apprenticeships, self-employment, social enterprise and entrepreneurship where appropriate. You will also provide suitable in-work support to promote job retention, workplace integration and career progression.
An important part of the post will be maintaining contact with programme alumni, monitoring longer-term employment, training and wellbeing outcomes and contributing to an active alumni network offering Job Club activities, peer support, mentoring and employer engagement.

CHOICE IN HACKNEY is seeking an experienced Advocacy Trainer and Mentor to join our Choices Into Work Project and play a key role in developing skilled and effective advocacy practitioners.
In this specialist role, you will be responsible for eight trainees/mentees each year and will develop and deliver an accredited training programme in either Disability Hate Crime or Disability & Domestic Violence, according to organisational need and learner demand.
You will design accessible training materials and deliver engaging sessions using presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises. Training will cover areas such as legislation, criminal justice processes, safeguarding, evidence gathering, advocacy, partnership working and the rights of disabled people. Domestic violence training may include safety planning, risk assessment, child protection, MARAC, housing, court processes and trauma-informed practice.
Alongside training, you will provide one-to-one and group mentoring throughout trainee placements. You will help trainees apply classroom learning to real advocacy situations, develop professional confidence and resilience, identify learning needs and build safe, person-centred advocacy skills.
Where appropriate, you will maintain a small advocacy caseload, supporting disabled people experiencing Disability Hate Crime and/or Domestic Violence with information, practical support, rights, safeguarding and criminal or civil justice processes. You will promote self-advocacy and work with specialist agencies including police, housing, legal and victim-support services.
We are looking for someone with significant advocacy or specialist support experience in Domestic Violence and/or Hate Crime, experience working with disabled people at risk, adult training and mentoring experience, and excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and trauma-informed practice.

In addition to supporting existing projects this role will work collaboratively with team members and key stakeholders to identify, scope, plan, fund and deliver new user led initiatives. Impact measurement is an integral part of this busy role ensuring that LA projects are evidence based and outcomes focused contributing to sustainability and innovation.

The Limbless Association is seeking an experienced Volunteer Coordinator who is knowledgeable, proactive, creative and resourceful. They will be passionate about the difference volunteers make and the difference their experience and knowledge can make to developing and enhancing volunteering across all activities at the LA.
This is an exciting opportunity to ensure LA volunteers play a key role in meeting the charity’s objectives and are part of a thriving LA volunteer community. Lived experience is at the heart of the LA’s work and ensuring that volunteering initiatives are user led and coproduced is vital. Peer support is an integral LA service offer and LA Volunteer Visitors, lived experience volunteers, enable the charity to deliver vital life changing support for individuals and their families experiencing amputation, through their rehabilitation, recovery and lives beyond limb loss.

· Has recent experience of supervising and coordinating a large volunteering community.

This role will be key in supporting the growth and sustainability of the Limbless Association by coordinating fundraising activities, supporting donors and growing multistakeholder engagement through creating relevant and compelling content across a range of communications medium
