Hours of Work

40 hours plus On Call duties.

Work will be on site and across the whole 24/7 rota, depending on where cover is needed.

For the first two to three months, the majority of your time is likely to be spent on hostel cover shifts to give you a strong practical understanding of our core work. 

The On Call provision is in place at all times, including weekends, nights and Bank Holidays, and is covered on a rota basis with three or four individuals.

We are able to take a reasonable number of other committments into consideration when planning the On Call rota, with each person doing an equal share of Bank Holidays, weekends and everyday cover. 

Main Responsibilities

• To cover frontline duties, including accommodation duty cover, attending reliably and on time in order to ensure continuous cover.
• To act as a Duty Manager, including dealing with any staffing or other issues arising during periods of duty in accordance with set procedures.
• To provide an out-of-hours On Call service on a rota basis with two or three others, responding effectively to concerns.  This will include finding cover in the case of sickness or other absence, or covering a shift at very short notice when no other cover is available. 
• To take on appropriate administrative, leadership, reviewing or project duties including during periods of illness, leave and vacancies.
• To take on delegated responsibilities for young people who need additional practical help to start and sustain their residence at the YMCA.  This is likely to include focussed work on benefits, budgets, housekeeping and similar.  
• To administer and oversee applications for accommodation, including obtaining supporting information from other agencies, assessing support and other needs and interviewing applicants.
• To oversee rent calculation, arrears procedures and benefit claims.
• To collate and report on other performance measures and statistics as required. 
• To keep financial and other records as required. 
• To contribute to the selection and induction of new staff and volunteers.
• To oversee minor and / or occasional staffing issues as required, and to take responsibility for particular staff and volunteers over longer periods.

Person Specification

Development Manager (Fundraising & Partnerships)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer, working closely with the Programmes Lead and Finance & Governance Lead.

Hours: We anticipate appointing this role as a 2 days per week (0.4 FTE) employee.

However, we are also open to hearing from experienced freelance fundraising professionals who are interested in delivering an agreed programme of work on a consultancy basis, equivalent to approximately one day per week.

Salary: Employee: £27,000–£31,000 FTE (£10,800–£12,400 pro rata for 2 days/16 hours per week), depending on experience.

Consultancy: Day rate to be agreed, depending on experience and scope of work.

Location: Remote, with approximately two consecutive days per month at our office in Liverpool and occasional travel for meetings or events.

Contract: 24 month fixed term (with the intention to extend, subject to funding).

Probation Period: 3 months

Line Management: This role has no line management responsibility.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious fundraiser ready to take the next step in their career and take ownership of fundraising within a growing charity.

As Worldwide Radiology's dedicated fundraising professional, you will lead our day-to-day fundraising activity across community fundraising, individual giving and trusts and foundations. You'll be responsible for planning and delivering fundraising campaigns, stewarding donors and writing funding applications that help sustain and grow our work.

You'll also support the CEO and Programmes Lead in developing larger strategic partnerships with major funders and corporate partners through research, proposal coordination and pipeline management.

Unlike many early-career fundraising roles, this position offers genuine ownership from early on. Key Responsibilities

Fundraising (Lead)

You will take ownership of WWR's fundraising activity across your portfolio, working closely with the CEO while leading delivery day-to-day.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading delivery of fundraising across community fundraising, individual giving and smaller trusts and foundations.

• Researching, writing and submitting grant applications to trusts and foundations.

• Managing relationships with existing trust funders and individual donors, including stewardship and reporting.

• Planning and delivering community fundraising campaigns, supporter events and online fundraising activities, including the Big Give Christmas Challenge and JustGiving campaigns.

We have an opportunity for a Supported Housing Officer - Extra Care to join our team in Newbury.

You'll be covering our two Extra Care Schemes in Abingdon and Hungerford and will be based in either our Newbury or Basingstoke office.

This is a hybrid role where you'll be working from the Extra Care Schemes 3-4 days a week, with a mix of home and office for the other days.

The role

Our Supported Housing team provide a wide range of services, including temporary accommodation for adults, young people and families at risk of homelessness, Housing First tenancies, housing for adults and young people with disabilities or mental illness, those experiencing domestic abuse, extra care housing and individual properties for customers with identified support needs.

As a Supported Housing Officer - Extra Care you'll use your knowledge and skills to provide a comprehensive and effective tenancy and estate management function for customers in our Extra Care schemes.

It's an intensive and varied housing management role where you'll be dealing with a range of tasks including tenancy management, safeguarding and low level ASB concerns, property inspections and compliance activities, managing lettings and local authority teams. You will be working closely with our care providers based at each scheme.

As a Supported Housing Officer - Extra Care you will be the main point of contact for customers and will be providing advice and signposting. You'll also arrange and encourage engagement in activities, helping people to live independently, safely and confidently.

Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) is looking for two compassionate and motivated Weekend Support Workers to join our dedicated Client Services Team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across the Harrogate district.

 

We have two part-time positions available (14 hours per week):

• 7.30am to 2.30pm, Saturdays and Sundays
• 1.30pm to 8.00pm, Saturdays and Sundays

Salary: £12.71 per hour, rising to £13.45 per hour upon successful completion of probation. Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave, sickness and on-call duties.

As a Support Worker, you will help create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for clients living within our hostel accommodation, Springboard services and flats. You will provide practical and emotional support, assist new residents with inductions, maintain accurate records, carry out health and safety checks, and work closely with colleagues, volunteers and partner agencies to help clients move towards greater independence.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a positive and proactive attitude, and the ability to build trusting relationships with people from a range of backgrounds. Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) is looking for a practical, organised and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our properties across the Harrogate district.

This is an opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our hostel accommodation, supported housing and office premises remain safe, compliant and welcoming for the people who rely on our services. Working closely with colleagues throughout the organisation, you will help create environments where people experiencing homelessness can feel secure, supported and able to move forward with their lives.

 One part-time role available

• 22.5 hours per week (three days)

Salary

• £16,894.80 per year pro rata

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance projects, scheduling repairs and routine maintenance, and ensuring our buildings are maintained to a high standard. You will oversee preventative maintenance programmes, manage contractors and suppliers, monitor budgets and support compliance with health and safety requirements.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will work in partnership with the Client Services Team and other colleagues to ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly and effectively. You will be confident identifying problems, finding practical solutions and prioritising work to minimise disruption to residents and services.

We’re looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, experience in maintenance, facilities management, property services or a related field, and the ability to manage contractors and multiple tasks effectively. A hands-on, flexible approach and a commitment to HHP’s values are essential.

Purpose of the role

This is an exciting new role created as part of a significant investment in legacy fundraising. You will play a key role in delivering a new, integrated legacy acquisition campaign designed to grow the number of supporters considering leaving a gift in their Will, while also increasing broader consideration of giving.

As a Senior Legacy Acquisition Officer, you will lead the delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of a new integrated legacy acquisition campaign.
You will manage activity end to end, from initial briefing and campaign launch through to testing, optimisation and evaluation, working closely with internal teams and external agencies.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Delivering an integrated legacy acquisition campaign across TV, digital, radio, print and other channels.
• Managing campaigns from briefing and launch through to ongoing review, testing and optimisation.
• Developing and delivering annual test plans to improve campaign performance.

About the role
We are recruiting for a Volunteering Partnerships and Implementation Manager to join on a part-time basis, working 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE) on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role with occasional travel required for in-person meetings.

Volunteers and volunteering are core to delivering the Alzheimer’s Society’s strategy and volunteers currently make up most of our workforce providing Help and Hope to those affected by dementia. As Volunteering Partnerships and Implementation Manager, you will lead a team of subject matter experts to build and maintain relationships and implement change across the Society.

You will lead the Partnerships and Implementation team, enabling them to be excellent collaborators that listen and supporting specific directorates to involve volunteers. Your team will work to understand and develop solutions, assisting in implementing improvements or change, and developing volunteer managers.

In this role you will also be a member of the wider Volunteering Management Team, contributing to future strategy and plans and leading workstreams and ongoing improvement of volunteering across the Society. You will proactively use data and insights to inform ongoing improvement to volunteer and volunteer manager experiences, in addition to sharing directorate/functional trend data to inform wider strategic changes to volunteering experiences.

About you

This includes helping loved ones understand the criminal justice process and working with health, social care and other partner agencies to ensure they receive coordinated support. The Navigator also brings the experiences, needs and wishes of loved ones into the continued development of the Nightingale Project.

You’ll be comfortable talking about trauma and able to provide compassionate, practical and non-judgmental support through group work, community activities and partnership working.
