The post holder will contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of fundraising campaigns across multiple channels, including direct mail, digital, and telemarketing.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to lead and deliver marketing campaigns that will drive awareness of Rainbow Trust and support fundraising activity to strengthen our position as experts in children’s palliative care. About the role

You will lead the clinical assessment and accreditation of member organisations; develop training and competency frameworks; provide supervision and consultation; establish governance, safeguarding and risk arrangements; monitor outcomes and quality; and build trusted relationships with NHS, voluntary-sector, youth-service and community partners.

About you

You will be a current HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, with a doctoral-level qualification and experience broadly consistent with an NHS Band 8a role.

You will bring:

• Substantial post-qualification experience supporting young people or young adults experiencing mental-health difficulties;

• Strong skills in psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, clinical decision-making, safeguarding and risk management;

• Experience providing clinical supervision, consultation or reflective practice to other practitioners;

• Experience designing or delivering clinical training and assessing practitioner competence;

• Experience of developing, implementing or improving a clinical service; and

• The confidence to work across organisational boundaries, maintain clear clinical standards and help build a new national service.

• Experience in CAMHS, young-adult mental health, voluntary-sector provision, clinical governance, quality assurance, accreditation or partnership-led services would be valuable.

Overall job purpose

The Estate Officer will ensure the delivery of the regional maintenance programme, comprising routine, periodic, planned and urgent works, and the delivery of time limited maintenance consultancy and estate management projects. Working alongside the Conservation Projects Manager, the post holder will ensure regional estate compliance with CCT policies.

The post holder will be the main contact for all maintenance related matters and will maintain the property management records for the estate, develop volunteer projects and training on maintenance reporting and conservation cleaning and will assist with fundraising.

We are looking for a calm, resourceful and committed psychotherapist who has extensive experience in the field of mental health, to be our Clinical Director.  They will work alongside of the Operations Director, in a co-leadership role in running the organisation and in supporting our aims of providing affordable counselling and psychotherapy to the local community. Phoenix Therapy Practice opened in April 2019 and is a not for profit, Community Interest Company. We offer a wide range of psychological therapies to clients seeking help with mild, moderate, and severe mental health problems. Our aim is to provide high quality counselling and therapy at an affordable cost depending upon the circumstances of each individual client. Our community of over 55 practitioners work together to enhance the development of the service and the inter-relationships within the organization, through regular business meetings, process groups and reflective groups. We operate from our two practices at 2 Osmond Road, Hove and 14 St George’s Place, Brighton. Our income comes via room rental and grants. 

Purpose of Job:  To work with the Operations Director in the Co-Leadership of Phoenix Therapy Practice in its provision of services and its strategic consolidation and development. To take clinical responsibility for the therapeutic practice of the organisation, to monitor the makeup of the practitioner team and trainees and to take on new people as required. To work with the referrals team in the management of all client services.

Hours: 15 hours per week to be organised as required across the week.

1. Strategic and Organisational Leadership

2. Clinical ( Clients)

To carry out initial consultations as required

To review all initial consultation reports and with the other members of the Referrals team, to allocate to the most appropriate practitioner. 

To liaise with the Practice manager in dealing with queries from clients and allocation to therapy and any other clinical issues

To monitor the main email inbox and  liaise directly with clients and practitioners regarding clinical issues, either by email or phone, when required.

To have an overview of Phoenix therapy groups and liaise with the practitioners who run them.

To deal with any concerns or complaints from users, being mindful of referral to the Board for consideration where needed.

To liaise with the Director of Operations in matters of safeguarding.

·To oversee all discharge summaries from practitioners and exit questionnaires from clients

3. Clinical ( Practitioners)

To review on a regular basis the makeup of the practitioner body and to identify any areas of need. 

To consider all applications to join Phoenix, and to interview, with potential supervisors, and to obtain references and follow up.

To support practitioners, and to respond to concerns as appropriate.

To liaise with the supervisors of the student practitioners, on a regular basis.

To meet with the practitioners on placement after their 6 months probationary period and at the end of their placement, to review their position. Having first obtained reports from the supervisors.

To meet with graduate practitioners at the end of their year on the graduate scheme.

To step in, in the event of sudden practitioner departure due to illness or death, and to liaise with the clients as necessary.

To ensure that all practitioners carrying out initial consultations are apprised of the manner of doing these.

You’ll be the organisation’s brand guardian and a key source of advice and expertise on brand, content, visual communications and creative best practice. You’ll help ensure that our communications are engaging, accessible, user-focused and aligned with our organisational priorities.

You’ll also lead on content planning and editorial management, internal communications, creative storytelling and digital experience development. The Assistant Finance and Operations Manager is a new role for The Christie Charity (Charity) and a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to work for a fast moving, growing organisation. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take ownership in the finance team for day-to-day transactional processing for The Christie Charity group. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop an understanding of charity and commercial finance. You will play a key role in supporting robust financial controls across the Charity group.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day transactional activity undertaken by the Finance Officers, including purchase-to-pay, supplier payments, accounts receivable, banking, income reconciliation, corporate credit cards and other routine financial processes. The postholder will ensure work is completed accurately and within required timescales, review key reconciliations and outstanding items, and provide support and guidance to the Finance Officers where issues arise. They will remain actively involved in transactional processing where required, particularly in relation to more complex matters, periods of high workload and the transition of activities into the Charity.

The postholder will act as the first point of escalation for transactional matters which cannot be readily resolved by the Finance Officers and as a key point of contact for routine finance queries from external third parties. They will work closely with colleagues across the Charity to ensure financial processes operate effectively while maintaining appropriate controls and segregation of duties.

The Assistant Finance and Operations Manager will be an important day-to-day user of the Charity's finance and purchase-to-pay systems and will take a lead operational role in ensuring these systems are used consistently and effectively. The postholder will support Finance Officers and wider Charity colleagues with system and process queries, monitor compliance with agreed financial procedures and identify recurring issues or opportunities to improve processes. Working with the Charity Financial Controller and Funds and Finance Business Partner, they will contribute to the continued development of efficient, proportionate and well-controlled financial processes across the Charity group.

Additional information

Upon joining The Christie Charity, day-to-day financial transaction processing will continue to be delivered by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust during the initial months of the role, therefore, the postholder will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with their finance team to ensure seamless operations and continuity across the Charity group.

These functions are anticipated to transfer to the Charity group with the postholder taking ownership of these responsibilities within the first 3 months in role. The postholder will be expected to work autonomously to ensure the smooth transition of activities to the Charity.

- The financial management of the Charity’s funds and individually funded projects; and

Financial management

In relation to the financial management of the Charity’s funds, you will ensure that Individual Named Funds, containing designated funds, are utilised in accordance with their Terms of Reference. In relation to the financial management of individually funded projects, you will monitor spend against budgets through accountability mechanisms agreed with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust finance team. The postholder will be an integral part of the Charity finance team and partake in the annual budget setting process to the extent budgets relate to the Charity’s Individual Named Funds or individually funded projects.

As part of your role in the financial management of individually funded projects, you will act a finance business partner to the broader Charity. You will be integral in liaising with the Charity’s newly appointed Grants Manager to ensure they are aware of new projects.  

Financial control and governance

You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial control across the Charity group, with the opportunity to take ownership of its two wholly owned subsidiaries: The Christie Trading Company Limited and Northern Pathology Developments Limited. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of financial controls and reporting, supporting the Charity’s aim of maintaining strong governance across both charitable and commercial operations.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, budget preparation and monitoring, completing month-end close, submitting quarterly tax returns, and preparing the statutory accounts for both subsidiaries, as well as supporting the Charity Financial Controller in maintaining effective financial control and oversight of the Charity's operations as required.

The Finance and Funds Business Partner is a well-established role in the Charity. The successful applicant will be provided on the job training to fulfil this role by the previous postholder who now holds the role of Charity Financial Controller in the organisation.
