We are looking for an Advocacy Officer to bring enthusiasm, excellent project management skills, eye to detail and an eagerness to learn to our small but mighty advocacy team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of global efforts to tackle air pollution and climate change.

As an Advocacy Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering our advocacy strategy - engaging with grantees, policymakers, and leading experts to influence decisions that matter. Your work will help accelerate action on air quality at international, national, and local levels, and expand the reach and impact of donor funding for clean air initiatives.

Our advocacy spans major global platforms such as COP, G20, and partnerships with multilateral and bilateral donors, UN agencies, and country representatives. We combine direct advocacy with strategic grant-making to amplify voices and drive systemic change.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate and support the smooth delivery of advocacy activities, from coordinating Clean Air Fund’s presence at global events, organising stakeholder engagement and events, to drafting briefings. This includes the potential for travel to global advocacy moments such as COP.
• Manage grantee portfolios, ensuring impactful partnerships and effective onboarding.
• Provide research and analysis to inform strategy and decision-making.
• Keep our team and partners aligned through clear communication and project management.

You will coordinate the Social Homes for Manchester campaign coalition and implement our strategy for strengthening the housing justice movement in Manchester and across GM. You will lead on organising community workshops and events raising awareness about campaign asks and the Manchester Local Plan consultation process.

You will convene workshops and events focused on building the capacity of a network of ward-based community coalitions to understand housing and planning policy and process. This might include how local development applications are compiled, submitted, decided on; and strategies for ensuring appropriate levels of Section 106 contributions and social rent homes are included in development applications.

You will work with the Social Homes for Manchester Steering Group and community leaders to provide coordination support to at least one neighbourhood planning process and efforts to encourage community-led housing innovations.

You will create a new set of webpages focused on provision of transparent and accessible information on housing need, upcoming developments, and performance against housing targets at ward and city scale.

About you

• You have excellent relationship building skills and experience of working with disadvantaged groups of people to take collective action to achieve positive outcomes for people and communities.
• You enjoy organising activities and events in response to community priorities, interests and needs.
• You have an organised and strategic mindset and the professionalism to foster positive working relationships between community, voluntary, and public sector organisations and representatives.
• You have a basic understanding of housing development and planning application and approval processes and a good understanding of the rationale for increased delivery of sustainable social rent homes.

About Social Homes for Manchester (SH4M)

• SH4M is a coalition of community associations, charities, think tanks, academics and social justice organisations focused on accelerating the number of social homes that are created in Manchester by 2030 and ensuring this is done in an environmentally sustainable way.
• Much of our work over the last two years has focused on generating an evidence base, influencing strategy, and set of relationships to facilitate influence, including through convening the Manchester Social Housing Commission which concludes in December 2025.
• SH4M is now focused on implementing a two-year strategy including building a network of citizen coalitions across the city of Manchester with the information and capacity to hold decision-makers and providers to account for accelerated delivery of sustainable social rent homes. • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns (including partial exemption calculations) and annual Corporation Tax returns.
• Monitor HMRC guidance and ensure compliance across the organisation.

• Liaise with external VAT advisors and internal teams on compliance for income streams such as fundraising, royalties, and trading activities.
• Deliver VAT and tax awareness training to finance staff and wider teams.

The Person

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA).
• Strong experience preparing and submitting VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
• Excellent knowledge of HMRC guidance and its application to business processes.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking an organised and proactive Education and Professional Development Administrator to provide essential administrative support for the development, delivery and evaluation of educational and professional development resources for paediatricians and healthcare professionals.

Reporting to the Education and Professional Development Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our education services. From handling enquiries and coordinating meetings to supporting online and face-to-face courses, your work will help deliver high-quality learning experiences that make a real difference to child health.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing administrative support for Education and Professional Development (EPD) services, including managing feedback processes, updating contact databases, compiling usage reports and maintaining filing systems.
• Administering online learning systems, such as ePortfolio, learning management systems and website content management systems.
• Processing financial transactions for EPD activities, including purchase orders, invoices, card payments and expense claims; obtaining quotes from suppliers.
• Drafting documents using agreed templates, such as evaluation reports, minutes, eLearning reviews and course pages.
• Booking resources and facilities, including meeting rooms, catering, accommodation, travel and equipment; ensuring effective diary management.
• Handling phone and email enquiries and directing queries to the appropriate team member.
• Coordinating and servicing meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes and distributing documentation.
• Supporting the delivery of learning events, including virtual courses/webinars and face-to-face sessions.

Essential skills and experience:

• Proven administrative experience, ideally in an education or training environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and confidence using online systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting educational events or courses, including virtual delivery platforms.
• Familiarity with learning management systems and ePortfolio platforms.

 What you’ll need:

- Confidence and ability to communicate with a wide range of people, adapting your approach to ensure understanding both over the phone and via email.
- Ability to support people affected by a diagnosis of dementia to maintain their independence, improve their sense of well-being, and help them take more control of their lives.
- Be proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
- Strong IT skills to create detailed, factual case records on a client database and use virtual meeting software (Teams / Zoom).
- Flexibility to work some evenings (till 8pm) and weekends and bank holidays (BH paid back in Lieu) on a rota 1 in 5 weekends. 

 What you’ll focus on:

-  Receive and make inbound and outbound calls to those across the UK as well as support in managing a national email inbox, whilst ensuring the support you provide is personalised and tailored to the individual you are talking to. This could include the person living with dementia, family or friends.
- Being a trusted, first point of contact for people affected by dementia, providing information on a wide range of topics, vital services and signposting as appropriate whilst improving people’s sense of well-being, ultimately giving them more control over their lives and decisions.
- Maintaining confidential and detailed computerised records of conversations with people affected by dementia, their families and carers.
