Lived Experience Participation Lead
This is an exciting opportunity to help Beyond the Streets take the next step in our commitment to centre lived experience across the organisation. Over the past year, we have undertaken significant learning, consultation and development work with women with lived experience, staff and external specialist support. The foundations are in place; this role will help us build on them and turn that learning into sustainable practice.
Working closely with women with lived experience, colleagues across Beyond the Streets and our Senior Leadership Team, you will help create meaningful, safe and flexible opportunities for women to influence our services, research, training, policy, communications and organisational decision-making. This is a role with real scope to influence how our approach develops, while joining at a point where you will not be expected to build everything from scratch.
Who are we looking for…
You will be a thoughtful, relational and organised professional with experience of participation, co-production, community involvement or another relevant area of practice. You will be confident building trusting relationships, facilitating groups and
navigating sensitive or complex conversations. You will understand the importance of safeguarding, boundaries, informed consent and emotional wellbeing, and you will be able to work collaboratively with women with lived experience, colleagues and senior leaders.
Direct lived experience is recognised and valued as relevant expertise for the role but is not an essential requirement. Any disclosure of details of direct lived experience will be at the candidates’ own discretion and will not be formal part of the recruitment process. To avoid conflicts of interest, candidates currently receiving support from Beyond the
Streets are not eligible to apply for this role.
If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply - we are committed to supporting learning and development in this role.
