About Us
The Study Society is a registered charity based at Colet House, a beautiful and historic sanctuary for spiritual exploration, movement, music, and wellbeing in West London.
Today, Colet House hosts a diverse programme of meditation, 5Rhythms, Kirtan, gong baths, workshops, talks, and community gatherings. We are looking for a skilled Content Creator & Videographer to capture the vibrant life of our space, tell our story through high-quality visual content, and help grow our community.
The Role
Above all, we are looking for someone with exceptional creative instincts and the technical ability to produce beautiful, engaging video content. Marketing experience is valuable, but outstanding visual storytelling is our first priority.
This is a hands-on production and digital media role for someone who is exceptionally skilled at shooting, editing, and publishing short-form video and visual assets.
You will split your time between:
-
On-Site Event Capture: Attending workshops, music sessions, performances, and community gatherings (including regular evening and weekend events) to shoot high-quality video and photography.
-
Post-Production & Content Strategy: Editing short-form video content, managing social media channels, running simple promotional campaigns, and reaching out to potential new facilitators and collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Production & Content Creation (Primary Focus)
-
Filming & Editing: Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts) that captures the atmosphere and essence of Colet House.
-
Photography & Visual Storytelling: Photograph live events, workshops, and gatherings; interview facilitators and attendees; craft compelling visual narratives.
-
Asset Creation: Design supporting visual assets and graphics (using tools like CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, or Canva).
2. Social Media & Event Promotion
-
Channel Management: Manage, schedule, and publish regular content across all social media channels.
-
Campaigns & Paid Ads: Set up and monitor straightforward targeted digital ad campaigns to promote upcoming workshops and events.
-
Analytics: Track channel engagement and adapt video content based on performance.
3. Outreach & Event Support
-
Facilitator Outreach: Identify and approach new teachers, facilitators, artists, and creators in the wellbeing and spiritual landscape to bring new events to Colet House.
-
Event Coordination: Assist the team in setting up, welcoming guests, and ensuring selected events run smoothly while you capture content.
About You
Must-Have Technical & Creative Skills:
-
Proven Video & Photo Portfolio: Demonstrable experience shooting and editing engaging short-form video for social media platforms.
-
Editing Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, or similar.
-
Visual Instinct: A strong eye for composition, lighting, audio capture, and narrative pacing.
Mindset & Experience:
-
Social Media Literacy: A good understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement, content scheduling, and emerging trends.
-
Communication & Outreach Skills: Confidence approaching new people, interviewing guests, and pitching ideas to potential facilitators.
-
Resonance with Our Mission: A genuine interest in mindfulness, meditation, movement, music, philosophy, or holistic wellbeing. You do not need to follow a specific tradition, but you must be respectful of the diverse practices hosted at Colet House.
-
Flexibility: Willingness to work structured evening and weekend hours to cover key events.
Working Pattern & Flexibility
This is a primarily on-site role, blending daytime creative office hours with attendance at selected events.
Because many gatherings happen outside regular office hours, your schedule will include evening and weekend filming shifts, agreed upon in advance. Hours worked during events form part of your contracted total, with daytime office hours adjusted accordingly.
You will need to be comfortable filming in a variety of settings, including quiet and contemplative environments, and sensitive to participants' privacy and consent.
Benefits & Practical Details
-
Holiday: 28 days' annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees).
-
Pension: Workplace pension scheme with employer contributions.
-
Equipment: Appropriate filming and editing equipment and software will be provided, with the option to use your own preferred equipment by agreement.
