The role will assist in providing a quality service to clients through face to face, telephone and digital gateway assessment by supplying accurate, personalised, relevant information and guidance. You must have:         

• Recent experience of undertaking the role of Gateway Assessor or of providing information, advice and guidance to the public either through face to face, telephone and emails including   experience of exploring clients’ problems and identifying appropriate next steps. 
• An understanding of the main enquiry issues involved in assessing clients’ problems
• Experience of using interpersonal skills, including sensitive listening and questioning skills to understand the needs of others, especially in the context of telephon

About the Role

We're looking for an Engagement Worker to join our residential service based in Catford which supports females in the criminal justice system who are likely to meet the criteria for a personality disorder, helping them reintegrate into the community following release from prison, secure healthcare settings, or Approved Premises. HerStory House is dedicated to empowering women with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen communities, maintain independence, and build a hopeful future. 

Our specialised, high-support, female-only residential service is tailored for women who are likely to meet the criteria for a personality disorder diagnosis and are at risk of entering or re-entering the Criminal Justice System. You will be at the forefront of delivering a trauma-informed, person-centred service, supporting individuals through rehabilitation and resettlement. This includes assisting with engagement activities, developing support plans, and providing access to appropriate interventions to help residents move towards independence.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting residents to access the resources, tools, and networks they need to achieve their goals.
• Develop, participate in, and encourage residents to participate in the running and development of various projects and activities.
• Promoting independence through life skills training, practical support, and empowerment.
• Recognising and responding to mental and physical health needs and safeguarding concerns.
• Supporting the creation of a safe, welcoming and psychologically informed living environment.
• Carrying out housing management tasks including reporting repairs, maintaining communal areas, and health and safety checks.

About the role
As part of our Public Affairs team, you’ll lead on supporter content and digital communications, tailoring messages for different audiences to maximise reach and engagement. You’ll support research and report writing, monitor UK and EU policy developments, and track campaign performance to help shape future work. You’ll also play a key role in growing and engaging our supporter network—mobilising people to take action and strengthening our influence with decisionmakers.

This is a part-time role, working remotely for three days a week between 09:00 to 16:00. There is flexibility to discuss which days would suit you best, except for Wednesdays, which are required. You will be required to attend the charity’s head office located in Norfolk a minimum of 6 times per year and this will be at your own expense for travel and accommodation.

About you:

You’re a clear, confident communicator with experience writing for digital channels, using campaign technology and working collaboratively across teams. You build positive relationships with supporters and stakeholders and understand how campaigning can influence decision makers, supported by knowledge of UK and/or EU legislative frameworks. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and confident person to join us in delivering a new project based in local GP Surgeries. The ideal candidate will provide a Social Prescribing Link Worker service, to patients of Crown Primary Care Network (CROWN PCN) in Milton Keynes, working to support patients and staff at each of their 3 medical centres across the area.

The Link Worker will take referrals from the PCN’s practices, and from a wide range of external agencies, and through self-referrals. They’ll work with people to identify issues that affect their health and wellbeing and co-produce a simple personalised care and support plan that connects them to non-medical community-based activities, groups and services that meet practical, social, and emotional needs.

This is a challenging role, managing a demanding caseload, working to strict quality standards and playing a full part in multi-disciplinary team of health and social care professionals. Successful candidates will be able to ensure that all work is compliant with our contract funder – Crown PCN, and Citizens Advice standards.

Applicants need to be:

• Computer-literate, although training on our case recording systems will be given.
• Able to travel between each of the 3 surgeries in Milton Keynes.
• Confident in working to performance targets.
• Able to show good communications skills, both written and verbal. These are essential in the role, as are excellent customer service skills with a non-judgemental approach.

You will work alongside the Social Media Manager and Strategic Social Media Manager to create content aimed at growing our presence across social media, with a particular focus on creating social-first video.

In this exciting role you will also work collaboratively with teams across the charity, to create engaging content that showcases the breadth of Age UK's work, both locally and nationally.

Night Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker

Job Title: Night Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker

Location: Based in Catford in a well connected area near Bellingham, Catford, and Catford Bridge stations, with nearby bus stops. Please be kindly aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota which includes 3 to 4 night shifts a week between 20:00 - 08:30. There may be some flexibility required around these hours and work bank holidays as part of a rota, as per service requirements.

About the Role

We're hiring a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker to join our residential Rehabilitation Service team based in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM). The Rehabilitation service works with adults aged between 18 and 65, from Croydon, Lewisham, and Southwark. You will be part of a service which offers 24 hour support across 2 buildings in Catford. The service offers specialist intensive rehabilitation for people who require more enhanced interventions than that which is offered within community services. Our residents typically stay with us for up to nine months upon being discharged from acute wards, avoiding admission into inpatient rehabilitation. We provide residents with support to step down into less supported accommodation, becoming more independent and integrated into the community. 

You will work directly with our residents to support them to overcome their personal barriers and challenges to achieve positive outcomes. You will do this through one to one support sessions, group sessions and activities, and general support with their daily living. This is not a personal care role, but is a role to rehabilitate and empower our residents towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting residents with taking their correct medication
• Carrying out various health and safety tasks, including reporting repairs and maintenance
• Keeping support plans up to date using our online portal
• Remain alert and monitor CCTV throughout the shift
• Complete all routine night duties and any tasks handed over by the day shift or service manager
• Plan and deliver various activities which includes within the service and outside in the local community. This can include days out to museums and other areas of interest by our residents
• Carrying out housing management support including welfare benefits support

You will be able build rapport and trusting relations with others in a professional setting, and able to build positive outcomes. You will be adaptable and flexible in your approach, and understand that each individual has different level and types of support needs, you will be able to flex your approach to suit the needs of our resident groups. The Coach’s role will be to engage with our adult beneficiaries, supporting them to identify and achieve their aspirations for themselves and for their families.

We currently have 3 Social Mobility Coaches on the team.  Whilst supporting women across all five pillars, each Coach has specific areas of responsibility, which may change from time to time.

The Social Media & Marketing Officer leads Emerging Futures’ social media presence and external-facing marketing activities, bringing our stories, values and mission to life across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Working closely with the Communications team, our regional services, and the company’s Recovery Voice Network, you will create compelling, sensitive, and engaging digital content that reflects the lived experiences of people in recovery and the strengths of our services.

This role is hands-on and creative: capturing video content in services nationwide, producing high-quality Reels and short-form video, coordinating external freelancers, planning content calendars, and ensuring our online communities feel respected, supported and inspired.

We are open to making the role work for the right candidate, so while Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm is fine by us, we are also open to flexible working patterns and compressed hours to accommodate those with additional needs. We encourage anyone with great experience to apply.

Role

In this exciting role, you will provide pro–active emotional, practical information, advice and advocacy support for male and non-binary survivors who have experienced any form of sexual violence.

As our Sexual Violence Caseworker, you will ensure survivors are aware of their social welfare rights, options and entitlements and assist them in accessing key services such as social services, housing, and benefit agencies.

Job Title: Concierge

Location: This role is based in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), the service is a short walk from Ladbroke Grove (Circle and Hammersmith) station. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £27,000 (Full Time Equivalent)

Shift Pattern: 22 hours per week on weekends, Saturday and Sunday on a rota between 09:00 - 21:00 . You may be required to work outside these hours dependent on service and resident requirements including bank holidays. 

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Concierge to join our team based in RBKC who provide support to our residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds.  

You’ll help create a safe, welcoming and well run environment, offering reassurance and practical support to residents when they need it most. This role is key to keeping our building, residents and service secure and responsive. You’ll do regular safety checks, monitor access, respond to emergencies, support residents with queries, keep records, and hand over to the team. You’ll also help maintain a clean and safe environment.

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Ensuring our buildings are safe by monitoring, completing welfare checks and responding affectively and appropriately to emergencies
• Maintaining professionalism and kindness with residents and visitors, attending to calls, managing deliveries and ensuring great communication with the team in line with policies and procedures
• Provide a daily report on resident activity, AINMs, safeguarding and concerns for handovers.
• Working with the wider team to make sure any urgent issues are picked up and followed through
• Remain alert and monitor CCTV throughout the shift
• Adapting to service needs to support risk assessments, safeguarding checks, and service standards
• Supporting residents to build confidence and independence, contributing to a psychologically informed space where everyone is treated with respect and dignity
• Noticing when someone might be struggling with their physical or mental health, and taking prompt action to prevent escalation
• Helping to keep the environment clean and welcoming from tidying communal spaces to reporting repairs and completing admin tasks accurately and sensitively
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for colleagues for a seamless service
• Other duties include maintaining cleanliness, removing rubbish, reporting repairs, ordering supplies, and general tasks

Citizens Advice Southwark provides outreach advice service in hospitals across South East London as well as from our main offices in Peckham and Walworth.

You will undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help such as grants and help with health and travel costs and assist clients to prepare for benefit appeals and provide representation at tribunals as required.

To be successful you will need:

• At least one year’s full time (or part time equivalent) paid or unpaid recent experience of advice work. This should include advising and undertaking casework on complex cases in social welfare law.
• Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits including those related to disability and sickness.
• An understanding of and commitment to the Aims and Principles of the Citizens Advice service including Equal Opportunities policies.
