The European Human Rights Advocacy Centre (EHRAC) supports human rights defenders in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Ukraine to challenge serious human rights abuses using international legal mechanisms. Our cases focus on areas including conflict, and security force abuses, democratic accountability and the protection of civic space, violence against women, LGBT+ rights and discrimination more broadly. 

EHRAC is seeking a committed and creative individual to manage EHRAC projects, to ensure that they are delivered to a high standard while keeping the security and wellbeing of our clients and partners at the heart of our approach. Reporting to the Programme and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager, the successful candidate will manage projects supporting human rights defenders working in challenging circumstances to uphold human rights.

Your role in our mission….. 

To ensure we can continue our important work, our Fundraising team are incredibly important. Since the pandemic, fundraising at Marie Curie has been through a lot of change. However, the organisation recognises the importance of our activity within communities across the UK and community fundraising has been invested in.

What you will be doing

• Be the primary contact for supporters, patients, and families and offer excellent service to supporters through various communication channels. 
• Develop strong internal relationships to enhance fundraising efforts and support Marie Curie activities. Help identify and engage new supporters.
• Record, bank, and process supporter income in line with Marie Curie policies. Maintain accurate financial and supporter records.
• Provide stewardship for Fundraising My Way participants, local fundraising groups, volunteers, and third-party eventers.
• Manage collection site bookings and permits, contact volunteers, dispatch materials, and ensure proper follow-up and record-keeping for collections. 

What you will need

• Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrating a sensitive approach
• Good IT skills including Word processing, email and spread sheets and a working knowledge of databases
• Excellent people and customer service skills.

• Able to engage with supporters and families in support of their fundraising activities.

We are looking for a Housing Mobile Night Worker to provide floating support across our housing services. You will play a key role in ensuring our properties remain safe, secure, and welcoming throughout the night.

Your primary responsibility will be to undertake mobile duties across our Brighton, Hove and Worthing sites. You will start and finish each shift in Brighton, where the organisation’s works vehicle is based. As part of the role, you will provide break cover for static night staff and may be required, on occasion, to cover a static shift at one of our 24‑hour staffed properties.

During each shift, you will visit all properties and help maintain a safe, secure and supportive environment. • Keeping past participants up to date with our work and the impact of their support 

• Promoting opportunities for supporters to undertake their own fundraising events

• Raising a net income of £20,000 annually through challenge events by year 2

About the Role

As an Assistant Arboriculturist you will support contracts in and around East Anglia, carrying out field-based tree surveys, collecting data and producing clear reports. You’ll also support Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applications and provide arboricultural input that helps clients navigate the planning system.

About You

You’re personable, organized and comfortable working with clients, with a strong interest in developing your arboriculture career.

You will ideally have:

• 2 years+ experience within a commercial arboricultural operation or similar
• Level 3 equivalent qualification in Arboriculture or higher, or related subject / experience
• Working toward a higher-level arboricultural diploma (or equivalent).
• Strong BS5837:2012 survey experience and confident data collection in the field.
• Lantra Professional Tree Inspection or equivalent qualification.
• Good tree species identification skills, including veteran tree awareness.
• Working knowledge of trees in the planning system and how arboricultural advice is used.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business-use insurance

Knowledge and experience of tree risk assessments, tree planting and aftercare, and tree biology/physiology/morphology is beneficial. You’ll be able to work unsupervised, manage your workload, and deliver high-quality outputs to agreed timescales.

Additional information:

This is a part-time (3 days per week), with scope to work alongside the Ecology team on field tasks where required.

Job description 

1. Supporter engagement: 

• Thanking and recording donations; maintaining up-to-date supporter records 

• Supporting outreach through JRS UK events such as our Advent Service and report launches 

• Representing JRS UK at external events such as Greenbelt festival or the National Justice and Peace Network conference 

• Undertaking talks and appeals in parishes or school

2. Digital and Offline communications: 

• Producing and distributing printed materials (e.g. quarterly newsletters; publicity materials; parish resources) 

• Maintaining and developing JRS UK’s digital presence (e.g. website; social media; e-updates) 

• Capturing and managing digital assets (such as audio, photographs, and videos)

• Developing content for JRS UK’s website, newsletters, and social media – scoping and drafting content that champion refugee voices, shares our work, or engages supporters in our advocacy 

• Analysing web traffic and social media engagement to inform future activity 

3. Appeals 

• Supporting the delivery of JRS UK’s three direct-mail appeals (Advent, Lent, World Day of Migrants and Refugees) and our annual legacy appeal by: 

  • Researching and drafting content 

  • Curating and segmenting data 

  • Sourcing and producing visuals 

4. Trust fundraising  

• Stewarding relationships with some small and medium sized trusts 

• Drafting and submiting grant applications and reports 

5. Other duties as required by the Communications and Fundraising Manager or Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy
