We’re an award-winning charity that runs local learning centres in the heart of communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide an innovative education programme which includes practical learning support and motivational and confidence-building activities for children and young people aged 7-18. Our aim is to inspire students from the least advantaged neighbourhoods to broaden their horizons and achieve their full potential. As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping thousands of young people each year. We have forty-one centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, with ambitious plans to scale-up our provision further over the coming years.
As a Centre Leader, you will have responsibility for setting up, launching and running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery. However, a substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Contract:
Full-time, permanent
Start date:

Working Hours:
Monday: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Tuesday: 9am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: 9am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Friday: 9am – 5:30pm
(Some additional weekend &
unsocial hours will be required)
Salary:
£33,800 per annum
This will rise to £35,500 from 1st September 2024.
Locations:
At our brand new IntoUniversity centre in Middlesbrough.
Annual Leave:
33 days (inc bank & public holidays)
+ additional 2 closure days in December
+ additional length of service entitlement
(one day per year of service, up to 5 days)

Working Hours: 5, 9, 13 or 17 hours, depending on the number of assignments allocated to the post-holder. Fixed term contract.
Location: 2 fixed hours at one of our partner schools in Liverpool, London or Manchester and 3 hours flexible and remote.
London Salary: £15 per hour

Your responsibilities will include developing innovative content strategies, creating captivating educational material, measuring impact, and fostering stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities (please see JD for further details):
- Develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the Theory of Change and organisational objectives.
- Craft captivating content tailored to diverse audiences, exceeding educational standards and resonating with young learners.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure content consistency and alignment with brand messaging.
- Measure the effectiveness of content initiatives through rigorous impact assessment processes.
- Collaborate closely with a dynamic network of external freelancers and internal subject matter experts, pooling diverse talents to produce innovative and immersive content experiences.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops between key stakeholders to co-create content and align strategies, ensuring children and young people’s needs and voices are at the heart of everything we do.
- Develop and nurture relationships with these stakeholders to gather insights, feedback, and collaboration opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and differentiation in content strategy and execution.

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven track record of effective teaching and course development, with demonstrated improvements in student outcomes.
- Proficiency in curriculum design methodologies and instructional technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
- Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay abreast of emerging trends.
- Dedication to student success and engagement, demonstrated through a student-centered teaching philosophy and commitment to accessibility.
Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM subject.
- PhD or interest in undertaking a PhD relevant to the role.
