About the Role
As the External Affairs and Strategy Specialist, you will help shape Waythrough’s external influence, ensuring the organisation understands and responds to an increasingly complex political, policy and social environment. Working closely with senior leaders, you will support strategic decision-making, build key partnerships and drive campaigns and policy projects that create positive change for the people we support.
This is a home-based role with some travel required, including attendance at our joint All Party Parliamentary Group (five or six times per year), and service visits, team away days and wider meetings as required. . RIVET is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven fundraiser to grow, steward, and activate a community of ~100 donors, focused on high-net-worth individuals and family foundations. As we scale towards a future powered by Gen Z, RIVET’s philanthropic community plays a critical role in funding, advising, and growing this movement.
The Director of Philanthropy leads RIVET’s fundraising and donor engagement strategy - responsible for securing significant philanthropic investment while stewarding a highly engaged network of families and individuals. Working closely with the CEO, Impact, and Marketing teams, you will lead on frontline fundraising and manage a robust donor pool to ensure members feel deeply connected to RIVET’s mission, people, and impact. Steamship Shieldhall is seeking to appoint an experienced freelance Commercial Manager to build new income streams to support the ongoing operation, conservation and sustainability of one of the country's most significant historic ships.
Shieldhall is berthed year-round in Southampton and welcomes passengers and visitors on board from 110 Berth in the Western Docks. She is capable of carrying up to 220 passengers and from spring to autumn each year operates a programme of public sailings ranging from two hour trips to full day cruises. She is also open for alongside events, and is available for private charters. In addition, she can be hired for use alongside such as for training activities, meetings, functions and filming.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying and realising new opportunities for revenue generation for Steamship Shieldhall, as well as supporting Shieldhall’s experienced volunteers with maximising income from existing activities.
This commission is an important element of the “Steamship Shieldhall: towards 2055, the next 10 years” project which is supported by a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The appointment is intended to cover both the Development Phase and the first two years of the Delivery Phase of our project but will include a break-clause between the two phases. The Delivery Phase contract is contingent on a successful Delivery Phase grant application to the Heritage Fund

What You’ll Be Doing

Location: Nationwide, home based, within reasonable reach of a mainline train station
Salary: Salary band starting at £37,929 per annum, rising to £42,018 through our pay structure (£30,343–£33,614 pro rata for 0.8 FTE). If based in London, this role attracts an additional London weighting of £3,655 per annum. We also provide up to a 6% pension contribution and life assurance.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at SOS UK. As we diversify our income streams, you will play a central role in developing high value partnerships that support our mission and long-term sustainability.
Over the past 12 months, SOS UK has laid the foundations for a new relationship fundraising programme. During this period, an Interim Head of Relationship Fundraising established a strong pipeline of prospective partners and supporters, developed a suite of partnership propositions and engagement materials, and built relationships with organisations aligned to SOS UK's mission.
Alongside this, SOS UK is launching a new Development Board, bringing together leaders from industries facing key green skills shortages alongside young people helping to shape the future workforce and sustainability agenda. This will create new opportunities to build strategic relationships and engage prospective partners.
You will join at a pivotal moment, helping to deliver the first phase of this newly established fundraising programme. You will inherit a strong pipeline of opportunities, benefit from strong senior leadership support, and have the opportunity to shape the future direction of relationship fundraising at SOS UK.
In this role, you will develop and manage partnerships with companies, corporate foundations and philanthropic supporters to generate sustainable income and strategic value for SOS UK.
The role will focus approximately as follows:
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will manage and grow an established pipeline of opportunities while identifying and securing new partnerships aligned with SOS UK's mission and strategic priorities. Through building long term relationships with supporters and partners, you will help create lasting impact for both SOS UK and the students we work with.

Volunteers are at the heart of our work. Each year, they support over 70,000 young people to build confidence, develop skills and explore their futures through insight talks, workshops and events.
We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to grow and support our network across Wales. This is a new role, created as we invest in strengthening how we recruit, prepare and engage our volunteers, with the opportunity to shape how this work develops.
In this role, you’ll build relationships with employers, public sector organisations and community groups to recruit volunteers from a wide range of industries. You’ll manage onboarding, support volunteers to feel confident and well-prepared to work with young people, and work closely with our Volunteer Manager and Programme Team to match volunteers to opportunities across Wales.
You’ll play a key part in ensuring volunteers have a positive, high-quality experience – providing ongoing support, responding to feedback, and helping us continuously improve how we engage and retain our network. Alongside this, you’ll track activity, maintain accurate records, and contribute to understanding our reach and impact.
We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and great with people, confident building relationships, managing multiple priorities and communicating clearly. You’ll bring experience of working with volunteers, or in a coordination or partnership-focused role, and have a genuine motivation to support young people to achieve their potential. And, we'd love someone who is confident communicating in the medium of Welsh.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively, is comfortable working across a wide geography, and is motivated by creating opportunities and delivering impact.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive fundraiser who enjoys both bid writing and relationship building.
Working closely with the Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role in securing income from trusts and foundations, supporting donor stewardship, and helping to grow community fundraising activity. You will contribute directly to the financial sustainability of the charity while helping more children gain access to books of their own.
The role is ideally suited to someone who is highly organised, a strong writer, and confident managing multiple fundraising activities simultaneously.
