Family Support Worker: Targeted Support and Community Programmes
Oasis Hub Lord’s Hill, Southampton
PART TIME, 20 HOURS PER WEEK
FIXED TERM CONTRACT 12 months (with a view to extend – subject to funding)
SALARY: £15,250 per annum (£30,501 for 1 FTE)
We have a unique opportunity to join Oasis Hub Lord’s Hill as part of our work with students and families. This role will create real impact in the Lord’s Hill Community by working alongside our Academy colleagues to support families of Oasis students and the wider community. Helping more families to engage with support and provision, including the therapeutic space of our city farm.
We’re looking for an individual who has a passion for supporting families and compassion for all, to take on this exciting role. You’ll need to be an effective communicator and ready to work with some of our hardest to reach families with drive and initiative. Best of all, you’ll be supported by a thriving team of people who are dedicated to supporting families and young people in our community, city farm and academy
The successful post holder must have:
· Experience of family support
· Experience of managing and working with volunteers
· Good project management skills, able to balance a range of priorities.
· Good standard of basic education, including English and Maths Level 2

We are looking for a motivated and relationship-focused Fundraising Officer to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. In this role, you will help generate sustainable income to support our mission of ensuring that nobody has to face a mental health problem alone. You will work closely with supporters, partners, and the wider community to develop and deliver engaging fundraising activities that inspire long-term support.

What you will be doing:
You will plan and deliver a range of fundraising activities, including community fundraising, corporate partnerships, and trust and foundation applications. You will help develop campaigns, support fundraising events, and identify new income opportunities to help us grow and diversify our funding.
You will build strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and partners, ensuring they feel valued, informed, and inspired to continue supporting our work. You will also support fundraising events, maintain accurate records on our CRM system, and help track and report on fundraising performance.

Bedford Foodbank is an independent charity operating as a member of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks. We employ 2 paid full time and 5 part time staff and are supported by 120 volunteers each week. The mission of Bedford Foodbank is to provide emergency food and support to individuals and families in crisis, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry. The vision is to be a beacon of hope and support for those facing financial difficulties providing a minimum of 3 days of emergency food and support.
Role Purpose
The Operations Director role is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the foodbank, ensuring sustainable service delivery while driving income generation and fundraising growth. You will oversee operations, fundraising strategy, partnerships, and compliance, ensuring the charity can meet increasing community need in a financially sustainable way with a passion for tackling poverty.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all operational aspects of the foodbank, ensuring efficient, safe, and compassionate service delivery.
- Oversee logistics including food sourcing, storage, distribution, and volunteer deployment.
- Deliver a fundraising and grant writing strategy to ensure long-term financial sustainability
- Monitor operational performance and report regularly to the Trustees.
- Managing employees and volunteers to ensure they are supported, motivated, and aligned with the charity’s mission
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, faith groups, businesses, schools, and other charities.
- Represent the foodbank at events, networks, and public forums to raise profile and funds.
- Maintain compliance with all policies and procedures including Health and Safety and Safeguarding
Person Specification
- Demonstrable success in fundraising, income generation and grant writing.
- Passionate about tackling poverty with empathy for people from disadvantaged, marginalised or socially excluded backgrounds
- Understanding and sympathetic approach to clients, volunteers and referral agencies
- Running a small to medium size charity operation.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and values of a foodbank.
· Willingness to support and promote the Christian values of Bedford Foodbank
Requirements:
· Right to work in the UK
· Clean UK driving license
· Some evening and weekend work required
