The Advice Services Alliance (ASA) is the umbrella body for the not-for-profit social welfare advice sector in the UK. Our members include national organisations such as Citizens Advice, Age UK, Law Centres Network, Macmillan, and Shelter. Together, our network represents around 2,000 advice outlets across England and Wales.

The Role
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Deputy Director to lead our quality assurance work and play a central role in shaping and delivering cross-sector projects. You will oversee the management and strategic development of the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and collaborate closely with the Director on broader organisational and policy initiatives.
You’ll represent ASA at external stakeholder meetings, manage contracts and project teams, and act as a senior leader within a small and dynamic team that is passionate about access to justice and social welfare.
Key Responsibilities

Lead on the delivery of the Advice Quality Standard, ensuring its integrity and independence as a sector-wide benchmark.

The Bird of Prey Project is a registered charity and multiple award-winning visitor centre and zoo working to conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. At this exciting time for the organisation, we are looking to recruit a new Charity Manager who can manage the visitor centre whilst working alongside the Board of Trustees to develop strategy and objectives for the charity. What is the role about?
The Charity Manager works directly with the Board of Trustees to manage the charity and visitor centre.
The visitor centre receives over 10,000 visitors per year who provide the majority of the charity’s income. The senior bird team provide a high standard of ethical raptor care to over 20 species, using restraint free management and free-flight techniques, and also deliver experiences and displays to the public. The Charity manager works to ensure that the site is safe and compliant with law & best practice, the senior bird team are provided with adequate resources and that the visitor centre is meeting goals for income generation.
The charity’s mission is to Conserve birds of prey, restore habitats and make wildlife education accessible. The Charity Manager over-sees the staff team delivering the charity activities, ensuring work is recorded and reported correctly.
You would also be responsible for line managing both Deputy Centre Managers. You should be confident in making decisions and able to balance opportunity and risk. An ability to operate within and develop governance, finance and risk frameworks is also a key part of the role, and whilst a background with working with birds of prey or in wildlife conservation is not necessary, you should be passionate about The Bird of Prey Project’s mission.
Key responsibilities

The Role
The Community Centre Manager will play a key role in the leadership and smooth running of The Edward Woods centre, managing change, growth and performance as agreed with the CEO. Duties and Responsibilities
Management of the Community Centre
• Manage the operations of the Community Centre, its staff and the development and delivery of activities and facilities in line with the business and strategic plan.
• Ensure compliance with employment law and that we follow good practice regarding HR.
• Contribute to the planning, development, implementation and delivery of the business and strategic plan and present regular progress updates to the UPG Management team.
• Oversee the maintenance of the building - including building maintenance and improvement
programmes.

Management of staff and Volunteers

PR/Marketing and Fundraising

Financial management
• Liaise with the CEO and Finance officer in setting and managing budgets and maintain an overview of the financial position of the Community Centre.
• Code invoices to ensure that income and expenditure is allocated to correct projects.
• Ensure best practice in all financial matters.
Project Management
• Support and oversee the continued delivery of high-quality services and activities.
• Devise and implement robust impact monitoring and evaluation strategies for all projects.

Edward Woods Community Centre has a small team of employees, tenants, volunteers and a
wide range of activities. it is expected that the post holder will be flexible in assisting in areas of work which go beyond their main duties. In particular, the holder of this post will be expected to assist with covering frontline reception and administrative duties and attendance at and/or supervision of events outside of normal working hours.

The Salvation Army is one of the largest, most diverse providers of social and community services after the Government. With more than 600 local centres and nearly 100 residential centres, they make a powerful difference to people across the UK who might otherwise be excluded.
Along with the Assistant Head of Individual Giving, the Supporter Acquisition Managers are responsible for growing the organisation’s file of donors and hitting an annual Individual Giving team fundraising target of £50 million in unrestricted income. As a direct marketing subject matter expert, they will lead cold recruitment campaigns and support in identifying and delivering new products or acquisition streams. The roles will lead on planning and project managing delivery of a variety of media channels, both online and offline. Each manager will hold strategic areas of focus, be responsible for seven figure expenditure budgets and line manage a Supporter Acquisition Officer or Executive.
The successful candidates will have significant direct marketing expertise with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, ideally in a fundraising role, and with proven success at recruiting new donors. You will have a passion for fundraising with a commercial understanding of the charity marketplace and competitors. As well as previous experience in identifying areas of innovation and devising testing plans to launch and roll out, you will also have a track record in successfully leveraging value from data collated on supporter databases, to maximise targeting and data segmentation.

We are seeking a dynamic and creative fundraiser to support activity across community and events fundraising. The role will focus on providing exceptional stewardship for our calendar of community and events fundraising. You’ll build relationships with supporters and deliver impactful events as well as grow our income through individual giving.
About Us
The Brompton Fountain is the children’s charity at Royal Brompton Hospital - a world leading specialist centre for complex heart and lung disease. We work in partnership with the teams on the wards, paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and in outpatient clinics. Our charity provides support and resources for patients, families and staff, as well as funding lifesaving medical equipment, accommodation - so that parents can stay close to their child during an admission, toys and entertainment for the playroom and improvements to the facilities to create the best possible environment for families to promote their wellbeing during what can often be a very challenging time. In collaboration with the hospital trust and the NHS we also fund research projects and develop new initiatives for babies, children and young people with heart and lung conditions.
About You

Main Duties and Responsilbilties
Community and Events Fundraising
• Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.
• Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities.
• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration.
• Lead outreach efforts to engage new local community partners, such as (small) businesses, schools, and clubs, promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.
• Lead on generating income through supermarket schemes. • To represent the charity when required in schools, engagement events and cheque presentations.
Individual Giving
• Manage the regular giving programme by implementing a rolling 12-month plan of meaningful touchpoints to deepen relationships.
• Develop and implement a plan to encourage increased giving and recruit new regular donors with personalised cultivation and stewardship.
• Maximise engagement and retention of individual supporters (giving at lower to mid-level) by prompt thanking, excellent stewardship and building effective donor journeys.
Supporter Care
• Serve as the primary point of contact for community and events fundraisers, delivering outstanding stewardship ensuring they receive the information and support needed to maximise their fundraising potential while maintaining the highest standards of stewardship and being respectful of potential sensitivities particularly when working with families who are fundraising in memory.
• Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.
• Maintain our CRM database ensuring accurate records to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
Administrative and Financial Support
• Process cash and cheque donations, Gift Aid and matched funding claims, ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database.
• Manage the distribution of supporter resources, conduct stock checks for fundraising materials and ensure an organised work environment for all fundraising assets.
• Overseeing our online shop.
Marketing and Communication
• Create engaging materials (posters, leaflets, stories etc), social media content and e-newsletters to inspire participation in fundraising activities.
• Produce impact reports and collate information for the HOF to support fundraising initiatives and grant applications.
• Ensure fundraising and associated webpages are kept up to date. Team Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with the wider team (when required) to support in-hospital and community events as well as assisting with tasks as needed to ensure smooth charity operations.
• Support the CEO and team members with ad hoc projects, activities, and any high-priority tasks to contribute to overall team objectives.
• Any other duties as required by the Head of Fundraising.
Additional Information
Salary is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE). The role covers 37.5 hours per week. Two days per week working in our charity office at Royal Brompton Hospital - London, and the remaining hours to be worked remotely. Occasional evening and weekend work subject to our events calendar. Exact working pattern to be discussed at the interview stage.
One-year fixed term contract with the potential to extend contract length subject to performance and funding.
A full driving licence or the ability to travel to events and meetings within London and the South East is essential.

A well known local charity VASA is a small charity (turnover £350k) supporting 4,000 people across Rugby, Solihull East and South Warwickshire with community activities, dementia services and our community transport service.
Following the decision of our long serving Charity Manager to move on to pastures new, we are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Interim Charity Manager for an inital period of 6 months with the potential to be extended dependant subject to results and funding. The Interim will lead the charity forward building on relationships, strategy and partnerships fostered by our outgoing CM.
Our volunteer-led services have grown in the last decade to meet the growing needs of our community thanks to our dedicated volunteers and a forward thinking Board of Trustees and ambitious strategic plan.
The interim postholder will be expected to continue on from the work of the outgoing CM and undertake an indepth review of the business, working with the trustees on the next phase of our strategic plan and look for a bold funding and operating strategy.
To continue our good work and move VASA forward the apointee will be expected to:
- Identify growth opportunities for this service either geographically and/or by expanding the types of service offerings and ensure this is staffed to enable maximum growth.
- Maximise the newly installed transport support software to ensure that VASA is obtaining optimum benefit from it.
- Seek opportunities for expanding the dementia day services offering and the number of clients served.
As external grant funding is vital for VASA the appointee will be expected to:
- Work with the local authorities currently providing grant funding with the pupose of:
- Making clear the value of the services VASA provides.
- Securing, and if possible, increase the current level of funding.
- Seek other funding opportunities.
As financial security and governance is paramount to the charity the appointee must:
- Ensure full compliance (Charities Commission and Companies House).
