Key responsibilities:
1. Main Purpose of the Job
To ensure the panel reflects AvMA’s values and that where possible the panel is managed in line with our strategic plan.
To manage and oversee the operation of the specialist AvMA clinical negligence panel to include ensuring the qualifying requirements for panel applicants are relevant and up to date and reflect any important medical and legal developments.
The assessment of panel applications and interviewing of Applicants. Convening meetings of the panel committee, drafting agendas for those meetings and identifying issues to be discussed.
Identify ways for the AvMA panel application process to become more streamlined, efficient and supportive of lawyers making panel applications. To develop the process to ensure it is fit for purpose, relevant and continues to meet the needs of the public.
Ensuring the AvMA database of panel membership and special interests is kept up to date. Giving informal advice to solicitors enquiring about panel membership requirements, liaising and meeting with firms as required.
Travelling and attending key networking events, including AvMA’s three-day (2 overnight stays) annual conference and AvMA annual panel meeting (usually held end Nov, beginning December), engaging with potential AvMA panel applicants, promoting the benefits of accreditation and the junior scheme (Certificates Competence Scheme (CCS)), keeping up to date with medical and legal developments. Speaking at panel meetings and generally to promote the panel.
Working with the conference department to identify relevant topics for panel meetings and conference events.
To improve on the current re-accreditation process to make it more streamlined and user friendly for applicants.
To ensure relevant data from panel applications is captured on the CRM. Regular analysis of panel data, findings shared with AvMA senior leadership team and more widely where appropriate.
To pursue AvMA’s EDI strategy by considering ways in which the panel can be developed to ensure panel members are as ethnically diverse as possible.
To liaise with AvMA’s conference department to advise on any training which may be required to strengthen AvMA panel members knowledge and information base.
To work with the Director Medico Legal services in assessing applications for Certificate of Competence Scheme (CCS) for juniors. To update and work on the Certificates Competence Scheme including organising applicant feedback to ensure this scheme continues to be fit for purpose. To inform and work with panel applicant mentors in strengthening the scheme.
To deliver on administrative requirements such as quarterly reports for trustees, working with AvMA’s Service Delivery Quality and Outreach Committee (SDQOC) as required to update on continued improvement of AvMA Panel Accreditation Scheme.
Dealing with queries raised by AvMA Panel applicants and/or juniors who may have had their applications rejected.
Ensuring AvMA panel template letters and documents are updated
From time to time speaking publicly about requirements for AvMA panel membership, common pitfalls and how to overcome them as well as other matters relating to panel.
To consider client complaints about panel members to determine whether the threshold for disciplinary action under AvMA’s Panel procedures is met.
To manage disciplinary procedure for AvMA Panel members, identify and liaise with adjudicators, prepare documentation, set up the hearing.
To manage appeals against rejection of an application for accreditation/reaccreditation, liaise with adjudicators.
To keep on top of any government, regulatory or other policy changes which may affect the way in which patients can access justice, recover damages and seek redress for adverse clinical outcomes, as well as any improvements or impediments to lawyers undertaking this work.
To develop and grow the AvMA panel accreditation and Certificates Competence scheme membership; to identify cost efficiencies and maximum engagement with AvMA accredited panel solicitors.
Any other duties associated with the role.
2. Skills and Experience
Administration of the AvMA Panel
The bulk of the administration and management tasks do not require specialist skills; however, assistance is provided by the PA to the CEO when required.
AvMA has a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) driven computer system throughout the organisation, the introduction has been phased and the applicant should be confident enough with sufficient IT skills to onboard the new system. The CRM works with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a data driven software solution which is intended to manage, track and store information. AvMA considers IT to be an ongoing commitment and the new panel accreditation manager should be willing to consider ways in which AvMA can maximise the impact of the CRM to improve services and data collection on key issues identified from panel related activities.
Tasks such as updating and preparing new panel application documents and report forms will require medical and legal input, the panel application interview process will involve discussions about topical medico legal issues and for this reason the post would suit someone who has a legal background, ideally qualified as a solicitor or barrister, preferably with clinical negligence accreditation. A a medical background would be helpful.
Assessment of new applications, interviews and dealing with correspondence
The Panel Accreditation Manager is primarily responsible for the assessment of new panel accreditation applications.
The role of Panel Accreditation Manager would suit someone who has practised as a claimant clinical negligence lawyer who is looking to draw on their expertise and experience in a new role.The successful applicant should be confident in assessing former peers and colleagues in a fair and impartial way.
The nature of this work is such that the Panel Accreditation Manager can come into possession of sensitive information, discretion and respecting confidentiality are key qualities for this role.
Reaccreditations
Reaccreditation assessments are done internally by the Panel Accreditation Manager, occasionally assistance can be provided by members of the internal panel assessment team.
AvMA aims to make reaccreditations more straightforward for practitioners and the new appointee will be expected to liaise with the profession to understand where they consider the biggest hurdles to reaccreditation lie and to consider how these can be overcome without compromising standards.
AvMA receives a minimum of 15 applications for reaccreditation per annum, however numbers are usually considerably higher, up to 30 per annum.It is thought that the reaccreditation process could be designed to be more streamlined and user friendly for both the applicant and in house.
Other AvMA Panel assessments
In addition to assessing AvMA panel applications and reaccreditations the Panel Accreditation Manager will need to assess applications from accredited panel members who have changed firms.
Change of firm applications tend to be straightforward if the applicant has been on the panel for some time and is going to a firm where there is another AvMA panel member but the process is more in depth for those going to a firm which does not have another AvMA panel member. The Panel Application Manager needs to be confident that the new firm can meet the minimum standards and supervision requirements required of a first time panel application.
There are about 5 applications for changes of firm rising to a maximum of 10 per annum.
Interim Reviews
From time to time first time applicants may demonstrate that they largely meet the core criteria for AvMA Panel membership but there may be some areas that require improvement.In those cases, AvMA can award the applicant AvMA panel status subject to a review sometime later.The Panel Accreditation Manager is responsible for following up that review and examining progress made.The review is an opportunity to identify if the applicant has succeeded in strengthening the areas of weakness identified.If they have not, they risk losing their AvMA panel status entirely.
There are about 3 interim reviews per annum, currently not exceeding 6.
3. Other
To support the Events Department’s quality initiatives and to suggest continuing improvements where needs arise.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the post as may be required.

About the Role
As Executive Assistant, Reparations, this role supports the Head of Reparations and enables the smooth administrative and support aspects of the Head of Reparations’ affairs.
You will support the Head of Reparations in the effective execution of the reparations projects, which will include coordinating project activities, maintaining meticulous project and workplan documentation, managing communication within the reparations team, with the wider JRCT team, and with external stakeholders. Your role will also extend to scheduling and organising meetings, maintaining clear records, and aiding in the organisation of project tasks. You will work in an administrative capacity to ensure that project deadlines are kept and deliverables are met. As the reparations projects will involve extensive work with stakeholders in Africa and thew Caribbean, familiarity with African and Caribbean cultures, as well as relevant multi-lingual and / or multi-cultural competencies will be essential.
This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance once or twice a week. The position is fixed-term until April 2029, with a salary of £47,814 per annum.
The role is for 35 hours a week, and we are open to flexible working patterns. We try to schedule meetings to accommodate caring responsibilities. Someone working remotely would be required to come to the York office for up to four days per month and also travel to meetings with some occasional overnight stays.

Role Overview
You will be part of Shine’s specialist Health Team, providing condition-specific health advice and support to people of all ages living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) or Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). You will support delivery of, delivering an established, evidence-based programme, promoting good self-management and care, and enabling our members to live in optimum health.
You will deliver high-quality, person-centred physiotherapy assessments, treatment, and advice to children, young people and adults with a wide range of physical needs, enabling them to maximise independence, function, and quality of life.
The role is home or hybrid based; member contact is predominantly via phone and video calls.
This job role is an exciting opportunity to join our specialised service delivering spinal stimulation. You will be attending a 2-day physiotherapy clinic once a month. Clinics take place on a rolling programme of one location per month, current locations include Birmingham, Bristol, Leicester, Leeds and Oxford but these may vary.

Role Description
The role of the Placement and Family Support Worker is to directly support, maintain and develop the network around the child, liaising, building relationships and communicating between multiple agencies and multi-disciplinary roles, these include, the local authority, social workers, family members, carers and significant others and the child in placement.
Within the community, the role is closely linked with each child in placement and will closely work with the Community Director and the senior management team to ensure that it meets the therapeutic and educational needs and interests of each child. The Director of Professional Standards and Accreditation is a senior position focused on establishing, overseeing, and upholding the standards that support professional registration and the award of professional titles within the cyber security industry. The role is responsible for overseeing operations that support the Councils core duties to:
• Set and enforce the standards of competence and behaviour required of those whose name is included of the Register of Cyber Security Professionals;
• Approve qualifications, certifications and assessment routes delivered by third party providers recognised as leading to professional registration;
• Award the professional titles of Chartered, Principal, Practitioner and Associate cyber professional and associated specialist designations.
• Determine continuing competence and CPD requirements to support ongoing entitlement to remain on the Register and hold a professional title in cyber security.

Julie’s Bicycle delivers the Arts Council England’s Environmental Programme, supporting organisations to embed Environmental Responsibility (ER) within their governance, operations and programmes, and supporting the Arts Council England (ACE) to drive positive environmental change within the sector. The programme focuses on delivering support to National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Investment Principle Support Organisations (IPSOs), as well as the wider creative and cultural sector through a suite of free tools, resources, events and programmes.

Sector support: developing resources, running events, facilitating workshops and peer share spaces to deepen understanding and share knowledge on topics relevant to environmental sustainability, tailored for freelance creatives, boards, cultural buildings and cultural practitioners; broadening access to cultural climate practice via creative climate e-learning;
Sector reporting: supporting organisations in reporting their environmental impacts and actions using the Creative Climate Tools - our platform created for cultural organisations and businesses.
Sector leadership: to inspire, develop and nurture sector leadership via a number of dedicated programme strands focused on governance, justice, resilience and decarbonisation.
Responsibilities
We are looking for an outstanding and energetic individual to join our team as a Culture and Climate Project Manager, leading and facilitating key strands of work across the programme in partnership with ACE.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Annual Report: project managing, writing and delivering the ACE Annual Report. Drawing together both qualitative and quantitative data, case studies and stories of change to create an annual snapshot of environmental activity across the portfolio. You will work closely with the ACE team Environmental Coordinator on this project. Tasks will include:
End-to-end project management: Create and manage the production timeline, ensuring the report is delivered on time and meets Arts Council England (ACE) standards.
Data Synthesis: Collaborate with the Environmental Sustainability Coordinator to gather, analyse, and interpret both quantitative (carbon data, metrics) and qualitative (narrative progress) information.
Storytelling & impact: Coordinate the strategy and team involved in identifying and developing compelling case studies and "stories of change" that demonstrate the real-world impact of environmental activity across the portfolio.
Content development: Draft, edit, and refine the report narrative to ensure a compelling, cohesive, and accessible copy. Manage all the contributions to the copy and version control process.
Engage with ACE and JB’s comms team for the launch of the report to ensure maximum impact.
E-learning module/s: Leading and project managing the development of new modules, working across internal teams to co-design and deliver engaging content and a great user experience.
Strategic lead: Serve as the primary project manager for the creation of new digital learning assets from concept to launch.
Content development co-design & collaboration: Lead on the content development and/or the facilitation of content co-creation with internal teams and expert associates to gather subject matter expertise and ensure content aligns with the programme’s strategy.
User experience (UX) oversight: Ensure modules are engaging, accessible, and intuitive for a diverse range of learners.
Production management: Oversee the technical and creative delivery of content, managing workflows between designers, LMS developers, and internal stakeholders.
ACE partnership support: working in partnership with ACE's environmental responsibility team to help embed ER within the organisation, including stakeholder liaison and consultation workshops with area/regional managers.
Stakeholder Liaison: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the ACE environmental responsibility team and regional leads.
Consultation & Facilitation: Design and lead workshops for area and regional managers to gather feedback and align on ER implementation strategies.
Programme delivery: Working collaboratively on the delivery of the ACE programme. This will include:
Resource development: Conduct research to create toolkits, guides, and practical resources that support the wider ACE programme.
Training design: Develop and facilitate training sessions, ensuring content is tailored for both in-person and virtual delivery.
Group facilitation: Convene and lead focus groups, stakeholder networks, and leadership sessions to foster knowledge sharing and peer learning.
Collaborative team work: Work fluidly across the delivery team to support large-scale program milestones and ensure a high standard and participant engagement.
About you:
You will be passionate about the cultural sector's role in responding to the climate and nature crisis, and committed to embedding values of care, stewardship, justice and collaborative action within it.
Candidates may come from a climate science background and we welcome applications from candidates with non-traditional career paths. You must demonstrate significant project management and partnership experience, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will be an excellent communicator with a flexible, solution focused approach, and keen to also contribute actively to the learning and culture of the wider JB team.
Experience And Skills
Essential
A genuine and demonstrable interest in arts and culture, the role they can play in the climate crisis, and the sustainability challenges facing the sector. This needs to be partnered with a deep and demonstrable commitment to climate justice.
Significant project management experience (at least 5-7 years), developed across mid-large scale programmes, freelance work, or a combination of both, with strong attention to detail across all stages of delivery.
Demonstrable experience in leading the development of e-learning or online training, whether through content design, learning frameworks, and/or digital/UX production, or transferable experience and skills that could demonstrate you’ll be able to lead deliver this part of the role.
A degree in environmental science/studies/management/sustainability or related area, or a cultural degree that includes environmental/sustainability intersections or evidence of equivalent relevant expertise.
Demonstrable experience of partnership working with external organisations and stakeholders, including facilitation of groups across cultural or environmental contexts. Ideally with cultural practitioners, institutions and funders.
Experience of running consultation and/or action research with cultural or environmental sector individuals and organisations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across different partners and audiences and, ideally, proven ability to translate complex datasets and environmental metrics into accessible, compelling copy.
A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and a genuine curiosity and commitment to drawing out learning to support adaptive programme design.
Desirable
Knowledge of the ACE investment portfolio and/or the wider publicly funded cultural sector
Experience of successfully managing climate, environmental and/or justice projects, working in partnership with external organisations
Developed experience working with freelance artists and creative organisations within networks or peer sharing contexts
Experience of participatory or co-design/collaboration approaches to content development, facilitation and consultation.
