As the Director you will oversee the smooth operation of Hindleap Warren, in East Sussex, and Woodrow High House, in Buckinghamshire.  You will also lead on the safety and safeguarding aspects of London Youth’s work, supported by a strong and well-qualified team.

Having already undertaken substantial renovations at Woodrow during the pandemic, London Youth is making plans to improve the Hindleap site.  You will be leading that capital investment programme.

London Youth aims to make more trips happen for our member youth organisations and young Londoners who would not otherwise get the chance. You will have a key role to play in maintaining existing support for this work and securing new opportunities.

Working closely with a highly committed and skilled Senior Team, the Director of Outdoor Centres is a key appointment to the team to enable us to realise our ambitions.

This role is responsible for delivering the operational backbone of the ICA including the maintenance and upkeep of our grade one listed premises on the Mall. Overseeing a range of building management and operational duties, this person will ensure the facilities are fit for purpose, safe and secure, comfortable and in good state of repair. They will ensure operational policies and procedures are compliant with relevant legislation. They will also ensure IT and office management processes are effectively delivered. If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

· To support the Events department in organising and delivering a range of internal, corporate, remembrance and VIP events. This includes Memorial Dedications and services, Arboretum managed events and thirds party events delivered at the Arboretum

· To support internal and external stakeholders to ensure correct events procedures are followed at all times

· To coordinate the booking and scheduling of events in the Arboretum’s diary and working closely with internal departments and the Events Manager to communicate event plans and ensure minimum impact on the operation of the Arboretum

· To work with the events team to produce event plans, event briefing notes, and regularly sending scheduling updates to other departments 

· To manage and carry out detailed evaluations on events and functions with recommendations using data for future planning

· To organise internal and external meetings when required, writing agendas, and taking minutes; plus circulating feedback forms

Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum - Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR. The post will be working a 35 hour week, on a 5 days out of 7 basis.

FareShare Midlands is the region’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting food poverty and hunger by tackling waste. We source good quality food that is surplus to requirements from the food industry. An army of volunteers help redistribute this food to over 500 frontline charities and community groups such as school breakfast clubs, community centres and organisations supporting those who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated and recovering from addiction. These organisations provide meals and food parcels to over 67,000 vulnerable people every week.   We also support people through our Employability programmes, enabling them to learn skills and find rewarding work – some for the first time.  

Hunger is a growing issue in the UK and while there is surplus food that is otherwise going to waste, we believe that this food should be used to feed people first.

The Role

FareShare Midlands is a high-profile charity with stakeholders from varying sectors not least over 500 companies in the food industry and FareShare UK.  You will work towards, and achieve, a best-in-class in operation not accepting standards or a service that falls short of this.

As the senior person on site, you will be the key point of contact for operations, logistics and stock allocation for your region. You will be responsible for all compliance issues including food hygiene, health & safety and security of the depot and the safety and wellbeing of all visitors, contractors, depot staff and volunteers.

The main role will be to lead the successful day to day operations and ensure the ongoing success of the FareShare Midlands Regional Centres. This will involve working closely with staff and volunteers to ensure that all activities, including operational and order processing are completed to the agreed standard & daily timetable.

With colleagues in the Supply chain & Development functions, you will help develop new operational/logistic activity and lead on the implementation of growth of your RCs activity, capacity and output.

You will report to the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team across the Midlands region. You will identify and share good practise within and outside the Midlands, working closely with colleagues in the other regional centres.

In agreement with the Regional Warehouse Operations Manager, you will set out relevant Ops KPIs and targets and will join daily calls and weekly meetings to discuss and help resolve issues across the Midlands region, working as ‘one team’ with colleagues from other functions and regions.

Opening times:

Over the week the depot will be open for the hours required, with staff working 37.5 hours per week which may include working in evenings and weekends on a rota basis if the performance and growth of the region requires it. You will work with the Regional Operations Manager to implement the shift patterns required to provide the service to our members and communities.

Main responsibilities

Job responsibilities will prioritise but not be limited to:

1. Operations:

· Co-ordinate the work schedule and daily activities of the depot, within the guidelines of FareShare Midlands policies and procedures on food safety and Health & Safety

· Be responsible for the supervision, development, and training of all staff & volunteers

· Ensure that all shifts are efficiently planned, controlled, and resourced at least a week in advance.

· Maintain and use the in-house stock management system, with responsibility for the training of depot staff and volunteers on the database and accuracy of stock.  Maintain good relations and communications with food suppliers and community member recipient projects, responding to any complaints or service issues with pace and courtesy as set out in our Service Charter

· Ensure that the vans are maintained as roadworthy and legal (taxed and insured)

The Shooting Star Children’s Hospices care service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a

We are seeking a Retail Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the new Soane Stable Yard shop, Post Office counter, and online shop. This pivotal role involves ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales, and leading a fantastic team.

The Retail Manager will train and manage a dedicated team of staff, Chelsea Pensioners and volunteers . In addition to driving high levels of customer service, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering against sales target, inventory management, visual merchandising, product sourcing and development and management of the online shop.

This full-time position requires some flexibility with weekend and evening shifts to accommodate the shop's opening hours. The post-holder will work closely with the new Audience Engagement team and Retail Consultants.

As a Chef you will be operating within one of two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings (Remembrance and Aspects) to supply catering across multiple outlets including self-serve 380 cover restaurant, table waited functions room up to 500, coffee shop, 'pop up Foodservice outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum and hospitality. We are open daily from 10:00 till 17:00 7 days a week, we do some bespoke evening events in our Aspects building throughout the year.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

• Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of our visitors
• Adopt operational responsibility for one area within the kitchen (for example one of the preparation areas, baking, hot meal production, etc)

• To operate across two full-production kitchens within two separate buildings to supply a 380 cover self-serve restaurant, table waited functions room, events and functions hospitality, coffee shop, and 'pop up' outlets within the grounds of the Arboretum.

• Ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with the standards set by the Executive Head Chef
• Ensure that all areas within the kitchen and dining room areas are clean and tidy at all times, and all relevant documentation is up to date
• Daytime and evening Events catering up to and including formal banqueting for up to 500 attendees

You will have experience of working as a Chef in a busy kitchen together with a catering qualification and food hygiene training.  Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential together with the ability to work under pressure. 

You will be working 5 days out of 7 with the occasional evening work at events.

HCT are now seeking to appoint a Director of Development to lead and deliver a trust-wide strategic approach to fundraising, in alignment with organisational needs and priorities. The director will develop and lead a high performing team and will be responsible for growing income from a range of sources, including trusts and grants, individual giving and developing a philanthropy programme based on a portfolio of designated funds to support strategic projects and ongoing revenue funding. This role sits on the SLT, with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• Significant experience in fundraising, including developing and implementing successful development strategies and securing income from a wide range of sources.
• Significant experience in securing philanthropic gifts at the five and six figure level.
• Strong track record in developing successful proposals and securing grants from trusts and statutory funders, with an ability to convey information in a concise, relevant, and compelling way.
• Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams, and senior stakeholder relationships, including donors and funders.

The National Paralympic Heritage Trust (NPHT) has embarked on a new exciting five-year strategy – ‘Becoming Seamlessly Inclusive 2023-2028’. To help us on this journey, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Trust’s ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’, a key role within our organisation. We are looking for someone who would enjoy supporting our volunteers and trainees and who can demonstrate good administration skills.

The NPHT was formed in 2015 with the core purpose to ‘enlighten and inspire future generations by celebrating, cherishing and bringing the Paralympic heritage and its stories of human endeavour to life’ and in doing so, to challenge negative perceptions of disability. Role of the Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer:

 

1. Overall

1.1 To support and develop the volunteer and work placement programmes.

1.2 To practically support two of our trainees with neurodiversity.

2. Key Responsibilities

2.1 To oversee the volunteer programme with support from the Head of Programmes.

2.2 To manage the ‘access to work’ programmes.

2.3 To act as a work coach to the trainees, helping them deliver their work plans.

2.4 To support the ‘Learning Manager and Collections Engagement Officer’ with the provision of volunteers for their programmes of work.

2.5 To support the work placement’s programme and individuals completing them, by planning out the work in liaison across the team and helping the ‘Head of Programmes’ carry out the work.

2.6 To support the Trust’s community liaison.

2.7 To support other programmes of work as directed.

3. Meetings and reporting

3.1 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’will be employed by the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and be responsible to the Board of Trustees.

3.2 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’ will report to, be managed and supported by the ‘Head of Programmes’.

3.3 The ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer will have monthly meetings with the ‘Head of Programmes reporting on progress and raising any areas of concern.

4. Period of Contract

4.1 May 2024 to the end of April 2026.

5. Contract fee/Pay

5.1 The proposed fee is £25,000 a year pro-rata - three days a week (24 hours).

5.2 In addition to the payment outlined above the ‘Volunteer and Trainee Support Officer’ will be paid reasonable agreed expenses incurred subject to the supply of receipts/travel expense claim. The post holder will also be eligible for a stakeholder pension.

6. Indemnity

Insurance is covered by the NPHT.

7. Skills and Qualifications

• To support the Executive Head Chef in the delivery of the Food Services Strategy.
• Consistently maintain high standards of food service and provision to meet the expectations of Staff, Volunteers, visitors and clients.
• To ensure that the methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognised catering standards and those implemented by the Food Services Manager and Executive Head Chef.
• To take operational control, including supervision of all kitchen staff, of any of the kitchens, food production, food service and pot-wash areas as required by the Executive Head Chef.
• To assist the Executive Head Chef with menu planning, rota changes, staff training and stock control..
• To report any customer complaints and compliments and to quickly resolve any complaints to ensure satisfaction at the point of delivery wherever possible.
• To help ensure that all members of staff adhere to both statutory regulations and NMA's policies on food safety and health and safety within all catering areas.
• Work with the Executive Head Chef to ensure that effective induction, supervision and appraisals of catering staff are carried out and that training needs are identified and met.

Please note that this role will be based onsite at the National Memorial Arboretum - Burton-on-Trent DE13 7AR.

The post will be working 40 hours per week on 5 days out of 7 basis.
