What You’ll Do

As our Personal Development & Life Skills Programme Manager, you will:

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of personal development and life‑skills sessions

• Support volunteers delivering workshops on confidence, resilience, communication, budgeting, digital basics, wellbeing, and everyday life skills

• Ensure all sessions reflect our trauma‑informed, person‑centred values

• Develop simple, accessible session plans, resources, and tools to support consistent, high‑quality delivery

• Work closely with the Volunteer Programme Manager and Head of Service Delivery to schedule sessions and match volunteers to roles

• Build supportive relationships with participants, helping them feel welcomed, motivated, and safe

• Track attendance, engagement, and progress to support our monitoring and evaluation

• Gather feedback from volunteers and participants to continuously improve the programme

This is a leadership role where your work will directly shape the confidence, wellbeing, and life readiness of adults across East London.

• Develop strategies for viral campaigns, hashtags, and collaborations to boost awareness and donations and share your expertise with our team on adapting to algorithm updates like those prioritising reels, engagement quality, and AI-driven personalisation in 2025.
• Analyse metrics (engagement, reach, growth) and refine tactics based on what resonates.
• Create eye-catching visuals using tools like Canva, with opportunities for video editing and live sessions.

Who We’re Looking For:
• Students, graduates or anyone with knowledge and experience (perfect for resume-building with hands-on strategy experience).
• Initiative-takers with social media savvy (personal or school projects count!), love for animals, eagerness to learn and ready to teach us new tactics.
• Skilled in digital tools (Canva, CapCut, analytics platforms) and strong English for storytelling.

Often when we think about animal fostering, cats, and dogs spring to mind, but have you ever thought about fostering our smaller animals? The RSPCA received more than 5,000 reports last year about rabbits and other small furries relating to neglect or abandonment and rescued an average of 340 small furries a month! To help us with the rehoming of these small animals, we are actively looking to add to our fantastic team of volunteer fosterers.

As a small animal fosterer, you would play an essential role in providing the animals in our care with a temporary home whilst they are being rehomed. Like us, even small furries have specific needs and requirements, but rest assured, once we have guided you through the fostering process the animal centre will ensure that you have all the necessary guidance, equipment, food, and veterinary care.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide them with care, safe suitable housing, and space for playtime, as outlined in our policies and guidelines.

• Ensure that they are groomed if appropriate and fed and watered.

• Provide them with suitable and clean bedding to keep them cosy.

• Give them lots of attention and plenty of cuddles as they are very sociable animals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Volunteers aged 18 or over who have had plenty of experience of caring for animals.

• Fostering experience is beneficial but not essential as training is provided.

• For their wellbeing, our small furries may need to be fostered in pairs, so please bear this in mind.

• Any existing pets or animals need to have been spayed/neutered (some medical reasons may mean they cannot be so, please let us know if this is the case).

• You should be located in South Buckinghamshire or within a reasonable distance.

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is a Stop and Stay visit role, meaning that the person you’ll be visiting might have some verbal communication skills or they use sounds and/or facial/body expressions to communicate with you. The person you visit might choose to take part in simple activities or watch you doing the activities. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tend to be around half an hour to an hour long.

This is a Stop and stay, let’s get busy visitor role which means the person you will be visiting can communicate actively with you and take part in choosing or planning activities. As you get to know each our you may choose to ‘go out’ either with or without support from the staff that supports the person you visit. At Release Therapy for Women, our mission is to ensure every woman in Sussex has access to high-quality therapeutic support. The Community Outreach & Inclusion Ambassador acts as a vital "bridge" between our charity and the local community. This is an active, relationship-focused role. You will work to build trust within diverse neighbourhoods, speak with healthcare professionals, and ensure that women who might not find us on social media are aware of the free, safe, therapeutic spaces we offer.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Mapping & Trust Building

* Local Mapping: Research and identify multicultural community groups, faith centres, and women’s organisations in your specific area (Worthing, Peacehaven, or Brighton).

* Networking: Attend local coffee mornings, community festivals, and group meetings to introduce Release’s services in a warm, accessible, and non-clinical way.

* Targeted Engagement: Actively work to engage all communities by building relationships with respected community leaders.

Health & Social Prescribing Liaison

* GP Practice Outreach: Visit local GP surgeries to ensure Social Prescribing Link Workers and Practice Managers have our latest flyers and understand our referral process.

* Pharmacy & Hubs: Place information cards in local pharmacies and community health hubs, particularly in Peacehaven and East Worthing.

* Removing Barriers: Briefly chat with potential participants to help diffuse any initial anxiety about "joining a group," explaining the supportive nature of our sessions.

* Strong Interpersonal Skills: You are a "people person" who can start warm conversations with individuals from all walks of life.

* Active Listening: The ability to listen without judgment and empathise with the diverse experiences of women.

Your role will help us continue providing vital care and support to Tŷ Hafan children and their families.

Barry High Street is one of our longest standing shops. It is also one of our smallest shops, but boasts incredible volumes of donations from our supporters.

The shop is supported by a fantastic team of volunteers who work incredibly hard to turn over the high volumes of stock.

Considerations:

Age requirement: 16+

Commitment:Our shops operate Monday-Saturday, 9am-4:45pm and we appreciate any time you can spare, but ideally at least 2 hours per week.

•  Sorting and pricing donations according to our guidelines (or your own knowledge if applicable);

About the Project – “Solta o Jogo”
“Solta o Jogo” is a vibrant cultural competition and festival celebrating Brazilian heritage through Capoeira, music, dance, acrobatics, and a Brazilian arts & crafts fair. Hosted at Kingston University Townhouse, the event invites the community to participate in free performances, workshops, and exhibitions promoting cross-cultural understanding.

As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Personal Assistant to support daily coordination, scheduling, and communication tasks across departments. This remote volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking to gain experience in nonprofit administration while contributing to a meaningful community-driven programme. 

Position Overview:
The Personal Assistant will be responsible for organising meetings, managing calendars, supporting internal communications, and assisting in day-to-day administrative operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth coordination between teams, and offers autonomy, flexibility, and mentorship opportunities for someone looking to develop or apply their administrative and organisational skills in the Third Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support & Coordination:

• Manage meeting schedules, appointments, and internal calendars.

• Organise virtual events, staff briefings, and team check-ins.

• Support in planning and executing internal conferences or training sessions.

Data & System Management:

• Maintain and update internal databases and contact lists.

• Implement and uphold procedures and administrative systems.

Staff Liaison & Communication:

• Act as a point of contact between managers and teams.

• Assist in internal communications and task follow-ups.

General Administrative Tasks:

• Contribute to internal meetings with updates and suggestions.

• Provide ad hoc administrative support to leadership and teams as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• No specific degree required, but relevant administrative or office support experience is preferred.

Experience:

• Prior experience as an administrative or personal assistant is an advantage.

• Familiarity with coordinating meetings, managing data, or supporting organisational logistics.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication.

• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

• Proactive, professional, and able to work independently or collaboratively.

• Strong team player with attention to detail.

As a Volunteer Guide at Lifeskills, you’ll take Year 6 primary school children on an unforgettable, hands-on safety adventure! You’ll lead small groups through immersive, life-like safety scenarios—from crossing a road safely to navigating a kitchen, visiting a shop, or exploring a railway line—encouraging children to spot hazards and think about staying safe in everyday life.

With the help of scripts, props, lighting, and sound effects, you’ll bring each scene to life, spark engaging discussions, and guide children as they practise making 999 emergency calls in a safe, supportive environment. Every session you deliver empowers children with the confidence and skills to make safer choices, helping them grow into independent, healthy, and aware young people.

We provide full, personalised training at your own pace, and you’ll always be supported by a friendly, experienced team. Volunteering sessions last 2 hours, and you can choose the times that suit you—Monday to Friday during term time.

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact, meet like-minded people, and develop new skills, all while having fun! You’ll take pride in helping children gain life-saving knowledge they’ll carry for years to come.
