What we need from you

This is a highly flexible role, and you can choose how you’d like to get involved. Opportunities include:

• Face-to-face fundraising – organising or helping at fundraising events, running supermarket collections and fundraising stands, and monitoring collection tins
• Online fundraising – setting up online appeals and writing engaging cat case studies to maximise donations
• Marketing and promotion – spreading the word about fundraising activities via social media and local press
• Administration – processing donations, sorting and recording donated goods, and completing Gift Aid paperwork

Time expectation

Our fundraising events organisers usually spend two to three hours per week in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer.

About Lambeth Links

Lambeth Links is the LGBTQIA+ community forum for Lambeth. We bring together people who live, work and socialise in the borough to share information, support each other and speak with a stronger voice.

Lambeth has a long history of LGBTQIA+ activism and culture. From early campaigning groups and community organisations to major events, the borough has often been at the centre of change. Lambeth Links builds on that history and works with partners across the borough to improve life for LGBTQIA+ people in times of both need and celebration.

We are now in a new phase of growth following three year funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. This funding helps us strengthen our core work and widen our reach across the borough.

• Understanding of at least one area of fundraising such as grants, corporate partnerships, events or individual giving.
• Experience of developing or reviewing funding proposals or business cases.

Are you a compassionate, good listener with a non-judgmental attitude?  Are you keen to make a difference and contribute to the impact BCWA makes?

We’re looking for friendly, empathetic volunteers to join us, who have strong interpersonal skills and are able to navigate digital systems. Whether you’re a confident communicator who wants to help survivors or a reliable and honest volunteer looking to build your administration and inputting skills, we’d love to have you on board as a SPOC Administration Volunteer!

Administration Volunteers will volunteer within the BCWA SPOC Team, who provide key administrative support to all BCWA services. Volunteers will assist in the smooth running of SPOC; they will access and input case data, collaborating with SPOC staff to ensure cases are allocated correctly. They will also have the opportunity to answer phone calls and enquiries, once they become confident in their role.  The SPOC team is a busy, sometimes high-pressure environment – our volunteers are integral at our busiest times of the year to ensure our clients and services get the support they need.

Volunteering with our SPOC team as an administrator might look like:

• Inputting data into the BCWA case management system.
• Consulting with our SPOC staff to ensure correct allocations.
• Reading referral information and identifying and establishing types of abuse.
• Future opportunities to answer enquiries and phone calls once you have an established knowledge of BCWA services and feel comfortable doing so.
• Being an advocate for BCWA!

As a BCWA SPOC Volunteer, you’ll get:

• All the training you need to understand and be prepared for your role with us, so you can use your time with us to grow and learn!
• Regular check-ins and contact with our Volunteer Coordinator as an opportunity to catch up, reflect and feedback on your volunteering experience with us.

Project overview: 

Alfriston Outreach Service is dedicated to helping older and vulnerable people in Kingston. We provide services such as Hot Lunch delivery, Shopping, and Laundry delivered into people’s homes, with our aim to support older people to remain independent in their own homes. 

About us:

Mind in Kingston supports people with mental health issues and raises awareness within Kingston and surrounding areas. We provide training, supervision, and opportunities for career development. 

Volunteers are extremely valued within our team and a vital part of our service delivery. We welcome applications from people from all walks of life, including those who may have personal or professional experience of mental health. While lived experience can bring valuable perspective, it is not a requirement for volunteering with us. Our focus is on providing volunteers with the training, guidance and supervision they need to feel confident in their roles and to develop their skills. Volunteers are supported to succeed and offered opportunities to connect with trustees, staff and other volunteers both professionally and socially. Above all, we value the contribution volunteers make to our community and are committed to recognising their achievements. 

Main purpose of the role: 

• Support and assist the Lunch Delivery. 

• Deliver the Hot Lunches into people’s homes. 

• Report any observations or concerns about service users’ wellbeing to the supervisor.

Tasks will include: 

• Supporting the Driver on the Lunch Delivery. 

• Carrying Hot Meals into Service Users Homes. 

• Using Key Safes to open doors where necessary. 

• Delivering Laundry and Shopping to some Service Users. 

• Provide a point of contact for Service Users. 

• Reporting on changes in Service Users well-being. 

• Reporting back any safeguarding concerns immediately to the supervisor. 

• Maintain regular contact with the supervisor.

The food system is unsustainable and unjust, and it’s damaging the health of a generation. We are a youth activist movement set up to challenge a food system that’s been set up to fool us all. We're looking for a new Chair who shares our passion for empowering youth leadership and transforming our food system

You will welcome clients and visitors, and support the smooth running of our local office at our drop in sessions on Mondays or Thursdays (or both)

Commitment: 6 hours/week (flexible)

Receptionists are the first point of contact for clients, welcoming visitors. You’ll record client details on our computer system, explain waiting times, and help ensure the service runs smoothly. The role builds communication, IT, and teamwork skills while making a real difference in the community. Full training and expense reimbursement are provided.

Forward Leeds is the alcohol and drug service in Leeds for adults, young people and families. Forward Leeds is delivered by 4 services in partnership, led by Waythrough.

This exciting volunteer role would suit someone with an empathetic, non-judgmental attitude who can build strong working relationships with others. This is a fantastic opportunity to get hands on experience in a drug and alcohol service and put your passion for supporting and advocating for vulnerable people to great use. 

The role:

This role will support service users who are experiencing co-occurring mental health and addiction (COMHAD) issues. The COMHAD team provide specialist care for service users with mental health and addiction support needs.

Tasks may include:

• Provide support for clients throughout their recovery journey 
• Provide support for clients with any unmet needs (health, housing, benefits, criminal justice, for example) 
• Provide suitable emotional support for clients
• Support staff with providing urine tests for clients
• Asist with writing up case notes 
• To develop and knowledge and understanding of an individuals’ recovery plan, and how to collaboratively create one.
• Adhere to risk management, health and safety guidelines and any relevant policies relating to the role
• Help to complete comprehensive assessments & any other relevant paperwork
• Potential to work up to recording information on SystmOne (our internal system) and co-working on a caseload
• Supporting staff with admin responsibilities such as phoning GPs, making pre-assessment phone calls with clients, phone check ins between assessments, and contacting disengaged clients.
• Potential to support staff with home visits
• Discussing blood born virus (BBV) testing with clients and discussing harm reduction advice such as naloxone kits
• Using SystmOne to record and update service users’ information

Training: Prior to start date, a volunteer is required to attend the one-day induction workshop offered online or in person. Following start date, volunteers have access to our training platform, workday, and may be asked to complete several training modules applicable to their role within their first 3 months.
