Our vision is that everyone receives the help they need in a health crisis from those around them. We will achieve that by putting first aid at the heart of every community.​As a Fundraising Lead, you will coordinate the activity of a group of dedicated volunteers to achieve fundraising goals and support the work of St John Ambulance. Other aspects of the role include- coordinating and leading fundraising activity with your team, leading or supporting the recruitment of fundraising volunteers , supporting the promotion of local, regional and national fundraising campaigns and activities and working closely with the Community Fundraising Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to coordinate the unit's fundraising activities, leasing with the Regional Fundraising Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be someone who can work in a team or on their own initiative, is outgoing, determined and energetic and has an enthusiasm for the work of St John Ambulance and it's values. Knowledge of their local community and experience of fundraising or event organisation would be useful but is not essential.

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented volunteer to support our retail team by helping to process money from our shops. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that funds are counted and banked promptly.

Our hospices provide vital care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across the local areas. This care is only possible thanks to the incredible efforts of our shops and retail team.

This role will provide support to our Retail Office, ensuring that money from our shops is counted and banked in a timely manner. The time required will need to be one to two mornings per week.

What you will contribute

Evaluate patient’s emotional and physical condition at screening and on ship by performing manual muscle testing, Range Of Motion and other tests as needed

Coordinate and participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment plans and goals, utilizing selected physical therapy procedures including physical agents, therapeutic exercise and gait and functional training

Discuss and document treatment goals and therapy with patients, family and staff

Evaluate patients during treatment to determine effectiveness and safety, modifying treatment plan as indicated

Assist with fabrication of orthotics and other supports

Serve as a consultant to physicians and nurses regarding Physical Therapy services

For This Role, You Will Need

Registered Physical Therapist with active license and a minimum of two years’ experience

Experienced with surgical patients preferred, including orthopedics and burn reconstruction, as well as experience in musculoskeletal outpatients

Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Fluent in Engish

Our vision is to help build communities that save lives and serve each other through volunteering for health and first aid.

Young people play a crucial role in helping us realise this mission. As a volunteer with our youth teams, you’ll be trained to provide our young people with both life skills and lifesaving skills – all while having great fun!

You’ll be working with our brilliant Badgers (aged 7-10) or creative Cadets (aged 11-18). You’ll also have the opportunity to design your own role, whether that involves running fun activities – such as outdoor events, summer camps and mountain adventures – or providing ‘behind-the-scenes’ support.

We’ll offer you the chance to become a fully-fledged Youth Leader, which will mean completing extra courses in First Aid or Adventure to broaden your capacity and experience.

Would you like to volunteer once a week or once a month? That’s entirely up to you. With the constant guidance of a friendly volunteer manager and youth team, you’ll have all the support you need to make bold strides and rediscover your inner ‘big kid’.

This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitations Offenders Act and as such as Enhanced DBS check will be obtained.

Day Centre Assistant & Companion

What You’ll Do

Support staff and clients at the Mabel Churn Centre to create a warm, welcoming environment for older people living with dementia. You’ll help with social activities and mealtimes to ensure the day runs smoothly.

You will:

· Chat and engage with clients to build a friendly atmosphere

· Encourage and support participation in activities (e.g. arts, music)

· Set up tables and help serve meals and drinks

· Clear tables and keep the space clean and tidy

· Communicate with staff about client needs or concerns

Skills You’ll Use or Develop

· Friendly and compassionate nature

· Comfortable supporting older people, including those with dementia

· Punctual and reliable

· Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
