We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Volunteering in the shop
Our Bournemouth Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

What happens next?
After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).

Mind In Enfield and Barnet combines over 50 years of experience to improve peoples mental health in Enfield, Barnet and beyond. We are led by lived experience and driven by a passion to support and protect people’s mental health in ways that they want.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Volunteer Meet and Greet to support the Therapy Team at Mind in Enfield and Barnet (MiEB). This role involves sitting at the reception desk and acting as a first point of contact, helping to create a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment for clients, visitors and staff. You will offer clear directional guidance, practical assistance and information about services and activities, helping people feel safe, comfortable and supported when they arrive. The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest.

We need volunteers to provide emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending Inquests at Coroners' Court. Our volunteers at court also provide help and assistance to the Coroners' Officers, as and when required.

We are looking for reliable, supportive people with excellent communication skills. A mature and calm attitude is needed in order to be able to talk to people during a sometimes bewildering and emotional experience. Volunteers must be willing to undergo a period of observations and shadowing, as well as attend a 3 day training course. A minimum commitment of one day (9:00am - 5:00pm) per fortnight is asked for. Training and mentoring is provided and travel expenses to the court are reimbursed.

New volunteers should possess good communication and listening skills and the ability to empathise with people they support

Do you have experience of risk management? We are seeking Audit & Risk Committee members who bring strategic insight, independent judgement and a strong commitment to Samaritans’ vision.

The Committee helps ensure that Samaritans has an effective risk management framework in place, supported by robust internal controls and external audit processes. About the role

Term: Committee members are usually appointed for a period of three years, with the possibility of a second three-year term.

Location: The role is home based and may involve some travel within the UK.

Time commitment: As a minimum, attendance is required at four committee meetings each year, either in person or via videoconferencing. Generally two meetings a year will be held in-person or hybrid.

Remuneration: The role is voluntary.

Mulberry Cancer Support, is looking for new volunteers with flexible availability to help us set up and run our stall at a variety of fun community fundraising & enagement events, mainly in West London - Hounslow, Richmond & Ealing areas - and occasionally at our Centre in Isleworth. Trust House Reading provides a confidential helpline service to victims/survivors of rape and sexual abuse aged 18 or above.

Helpline volunteers are a key part of this service, and we value their contribution. Helpline volunteers aim to support victims/survivors of rape and sexual abuse by providing a safe space to talk and share their feelings and needs; by providing information and signposting to other relevant organisations/services; and by referring the clients to Trust House Reading’s different services.

Hours of work: This role requires one 2-3-hour session per week. This role can be office based at our offices in Reading or home based.

Helpline volunteers must complete Trust House Reading’s specialist training and induction programme and must attend monthly supervision.

No previous helpline experience is necessary as training and on-going support will be provided.

Please note that you must be over the age of 18 and eligible to volunteer in the UK. Unfortunately, we are currently only able to offer this role to people living in the UK.

Key Tasks:

• Ensure that calls are answered promptly and efficiently during your shift.
• Provide callers with emotional support, relevant information and signposting as relevant to the call.
• Listen to helpline telephone messages and make call-backs as necessary.

To support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate wellbeing and enrichment activities for newly arrived migrant girls aged 11–19 at the Baytree Centre. These activities form part of the Arrive and Thrive programme and may include cookery, wellbeing/fitness sessions, and creative workshops. The role helps girls to build confidence, develop personal and social skills, and form positive relationships while waiting for a place in formal education. By offering encouragement, guidance, and a welcoming environment, the volunteer will help participants integrate, express themselves, and explore new interests.

Main Responsibilities:

- Assist in planning and delivering enrichment sessions (e.g., cookery, wellbeing/fitness) for girls. - Create engaging activities that encourage creativity, learning, and personal development.

- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where girls feel comfortable expressing themselves, trying new skills, and building confidence.

- Support positive relationship building and teamwork among participants.

- Assist with administrative tasks such as recording attendance, activity planning, and organising materials for sessions.

- Adhere to Baytree Centre policies and safeguarding procedures.

Skills and Qualities Required:

- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with girls from different cultural backgrounds, ages, and abilities.
