Are you passionate about gardens and community engagement? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant County Organiser to support activities in Greenwich, Blackheath and surrounding areas. The role is to support the County Organiser in managing the volunteer County Team and work as part of the team. Support the Garden Owners of the National Garden Scheme who open gardens for charity. 

Reports to: County Organiser.

Location:  Home based but with travel to gardens and other events/meetings.

Core activities:

 Manage garden openings, proceeds, insurance and Health and Safety.

 Identify and secure new gardens and ensure that existing gardens continue to reach the required standard.

 Implement new policies as agreed by the Board at local level.

 Refer all complaints to the County Organiser for discussion and resolution.

 Attend National, County and Regional Meetings and other events as requested. 

 Support designated Garden Owners by maintaining contact prior to their open day and follow up.

 Attend garden open days, wherever possible, to support the Garden Owner.

Skills:

 People skills - dealing with a wide range of people.

 Ability to prioritise and to work under pressure at times.

As a Grants and Funding Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting our work. You will:

• Identify and apply for funding opportunities through compelling proposals

Position: Board of Director - Vice-Chairperson (Unpaid Volunteer Role)

Reports to: Board Chairperson

Location: Hybrid (remote + in-person events as needed)

 Primary Purpose:

Deputize for the Board Chair (Founder), ensure robust board governance, and lead all independent oversight regarding the charity’s relationship with Guardian Light Enterprises Ltd.

 Key Responsibilities:

•  Chair full board meetings or committee sessions in the absence of the Chair.
•  Lead board discussions, voting, and contract approvals concerning Guardian Light Enterprises Ltd to eliminate conflicts of interest for the Chair/CEO.
•  Conduct annual board performance evaluations and support trustee development.
•  Serve as a sounding board and strategic advisor to the Chair.

SolidariTee is an international charity run and led entirely by volunteers who are students and young people. We're working to make lasting change in the way refugees and other people forced to flee persecution and violence are treated, through a combination of awareness-raising, advocacy, and fundraising to support grassroots NGOs providing vital refugee legal aid and mental health support.

We are currently looking for volunteers to join our Central and Leadership teams!

Our Central Team includes students and other young people from around the UK and works together to coordinate SolidariTee’s core functions and organise opportunities to bring our volunteers and supporters together. This includes organising our annual conference, creating content for our central Instagram page @teesofsolidarity, and developing partnerships with uni societies, student groups, fashion shows, balls and more!

Our Leadership Team provides overall coordination and oversight to the activities of our Central Team and Regional Teams, and it is a great opportunity to be involved with leading the direction of the SolidariTee movement on a national level.

The Business Development Lead will work closely with the CEO and Business Development Trustee to build a sustainable pipeline of corporate partners.

The role will focus on developing relationships that can generate:

• CSR and corporate sponsorship;
• multi-year funding partnerships;
• employee fundraising;
• volunteer mentors;
• skills-based volunteering;
• corporate introductions and wider strategic support.

The aim is not simply to generate one-off donations, but to build long-term corporate relationships that combine funding, employee engagement and measurable social impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a targeted pipeline of banks, asset managers, insurers, fintech companies and other financial-services organisations.
• Identify relevant CSR, ESG, social-impact, community-investment and employee-engagement opportunities.
• Research decision-makers and identify the strongest routes into prospective partners.
• Develop tailored corporate partnership propositions.
• Secure introductory meetings and manage follow-up.
• Work with the CEO and Trustee to prepare pitches, proposals and presentations.
• Build sponsorship propositions around:
  • student mentoring;
  • school cohorts;
  • programme delivery;
  • technology;
  • employability and careers;
  • and wider organisational growth.
• Develop corporate volunteer-mentor opportunities that are attractive and practical for financial-sector employees.
• Convert existing networks and introductions into structured partnership discussions.

• Support stewardship and renewal of existing corporate partners.

• Map priority banking and financial-services organisations.

• Develop a clear One Degree corporate partnership proposition.
• Progress renewal and extension opportunities with existing corporate supporters.
• Secure new meetings with senior CSR, ESG, HR, volunteering, community-investment and foundation leads.
• Develop a stronger pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors.
• Increase the number of suitable corporate volunteer mentors.
• Establish a structured approach to partnership reporting and stewardship.
• Leading to: Secured sponsorship of 50 x One Degree students every 6 months

Person specification

We are looking for someone who ideally has:

• experience in business development, partnerships, fundraising, CSR or corporate engagement;
• strong knowledge of banking, financial services or professional services;
• existing corporate networks or confidence building relationships with senior decision-makers;
• experience developing and progressing a sales or fundraising pipeline;
• excellent written and verbal communication;
• strong presentation and relationship-management skills;
• confidence making direct approaches and asking for meetings, introductions and support;
• ability to work independently with limited monthly time;
• a commercial mindset combined with an understanding of charitable impact.

Experience working directly within banking or financial services would be particularly valuable.

Success measures

Success would be assessed through:

• quality and value of the corporate pipeline;
• number of qualified corporate meetings;
• new corporate sponsorship secured;
• existing partnerships renewed or expanded;
• number of volunteer mentors sourced through corporate partners;

Position: Board of Director - Treasurer (Unpaid Volunteer Role)

Reports to: Board Chairperson

Location: Hybrid (remote + in-person events as needed)

 Primary Purpose:

Provide strategic financial oversight, ensure robust accounting controls, and manage dual-entity financial structures (Charity & Trading Subsidiary).

 Key Responsibilities:

•  Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit preparation.
•  Structure tax-efficient inter-company transfers, Gift Aid claims, and cost-allocation mechanisms between Foundation and Enterprises.
•  Present quarterly financial reports and risk assessments to the Board.
•  Ensure full compliance with SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) accounting standards.

•  ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA professional accounting qualification.
