We are looking for trustees who can bring their own unique experience and expertise to support the effective governance of our charity, in particular in areas such as data and digital, commercial experience, and knowledge of the health and care sector. An understanding of charity governance, fundraising or an accountancy qualification would be beneficial.
Who are Age UK Sutton?
Age UK Sutton is a small independent charity dedicated to helping older people in our community to live well in later life. We are a network partner of Age UK, the influential national charity, and benefit from membership of a network of similar independent charities across the UK. We deliver a mixture of social and community activities while influencing strategy in Sutton. We provide vital information, expert advice and practical support. Our work enables older people to make informed decisions on finances, health, care, and wellbeing, and enables greater social connection and independence.
Location: Sutton, South West London (and online meetings)
Time Commitment:
- Quarterly Board meetings, three-hour Board meetings held virtually on Teams (twice a year), and alternately face-to-face meetings
- Quarterly Committee meetings (2-3 hours): Fundraising and Enterprise and / or Quality and / or Finance, Risk and Audit (most trustees are expected to attend 2 of the 3 standing subcommittees)
- Trustees with the capacity to do so also have the opportunity to support occasional projects or short-term working groups, supporting the CEO and wider leadership team.
Duration: A 3-year term (may be extended for two further 3-year terms)

Duties and Responsibilities of a Trustee
Policy Responsibilities
- Providing oversight for the charity’s research and advocacy, ensuring the Trust’s work is mission-aligned, evidence-based, and intellectually rigorous
- Supporting the Board in discharging their collective duties around planning, risk and compliance, particularly in areas such as horizon scanning for upcoming legislative changes, political shifts and shifts in social trends affecting the Trust as well as specific regulations around political neutrality
- Leveraging their professional networks and expertise, enhancing the charity’s credibility and influence, ensuring our research translates into meaningful systemic change
General Responsibilities
- Inputting into and agreeing the Trust’s vision, mission and values and providing advice on the Trust’s wider purpose, goals and activities
- Inputting into and agreeing the Trust’s aims and long-term strategy in furtherance of its charitable purpose
- Ensuring key risks are identified, monitored and controlled effectively as well as keeping abreast of changes in the Trust’s operating environment
- Monitoring the Trust’s performance against its strategic aims, operational plans and budgets
- Safeguarding and promoting the Trust’s reputation, and acting in the best interest of the Trust at all times
- Ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of the Trust
- Ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the organisation, including having appropriate policies and procedures in place
- Ensuring proper arrangements are in place for the appointment, supervision, support, appraisal and renumeration of the CEO and they are held to account

In addition to the above statutory duties, each Trustee should use their specific skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to the Board’s decision-making, and dedicate sufficient time to carry out their responsibilities effectively. This may involve sitting on Board Committees, scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the Trustee has special expertise.

This position is a Trustee role, sitting on Hidayah's board. The IT/Tech This role will oversee Hidayah’s IT infrastructure to ensure suitability and sustainability of charitable activities.
What are the responsibilities of this role?

● To aim to attend all other planning meetings as necessary when close to Hidayah events as well as the events themselves (where possible due to geography)

We’re in the exciting early stages of building something bold, vibrant, and community‑powered — and we’re looking for a Head of Brand, Partnerships & Impact (Volunteer) who wants to help shape how REMIX shows up in the world.
The Role
We are seeking a creative, strategic, and people‑centred Head of Brand, Partnerships & Impact (Volunteer) to lead REMIX’s outward‑facing work. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial role for someone who loves storytelling, relationship‑building, and amplifying a movement’s voice.
You will shape how REMIX communicates, grows, and builds influence — from brand identity and social media presence to partnerships, fundraising, and impact storytelling. Working closely with the Volunteer CEO, COO, and Board, you’ll help position REMIX as a trusted, inspiring force for young Londoners.
Time commitment: Very Flexible Volunteer Role. We Highly Recommed around 5–10 hours per week, including:

Key Responsibilities
As Head of Brand, Partnerships & Impact (Volunteer), you will:
Brand & Communications

Lead REMIX’s brand identity, tone of voice, and visual presence across all platforms.

Oversee social media, storytelling, and content that reflects REMIX’s energy and values.

Ensure all communications are youth‑friendly, empowering, and movement‑driven.
Partnerships & Fundraising

Build relationships with community organisations, local businesses, funders, and supporters.

Support the development of fundraising strategies, campaigns, and partnership opportunities.

Represent REMIX externally with confidence, warmth, and credibility.
Impact & Visibility

Help shape REMIX’s impact framework and communicate our outcomes clearly and creatively.

Share stories of change that highlight the voices and experiences of young people.

Amplify REMIX’s presence across London, ensuring we are seen, heard, and trusted.

The Architect of Connection
As our Founding Programmes & Impact Lead, you are the creative heart of our charity. You will be responsible for dreaming up, building, and launching the initiatives that directly tackle social isolation. From small-scale coffee meetups to city-wide community projects, you will ensure our "Joy Strategy" is delivered with excellence.
Your Impact:
- Creative Curation: Design a diverse calendar of events, projects, and programmes specifically tailored to spark connection and spread community spirit.
- End-to-End Implementation: Take ideas from the drawing board to the streets of London—setting up the logistics, volunteer rotas, and venues needed for success.
- Impact Measurement: Define what "success" looks like. How many connections were made? How much joy was spread? You’ll help us prove our impact to the world.
- Scaling the Joy: Ensure our pilot programmes are robust enough to be replicated across different London boroughs.
Who You Are:
- A "Community Builder": You have experience in event management, social programming, or community work and understand the nuances of social isolation.
- An Organised Visionary: You can dream big, but you have the grit to handle the "nitty-gritty" of setting up a project from scratch.
- Passionate about London: You know the capital’s unique challenges and are driven to make its residents feel less alone.
- Proactive & United: You thrive in a "close-knit team" environment and can work autonomously to hit milestones.
The Logistics:
- Location: Remote/Home-based, with regular "on-the-ground" presence in London for events and pilot projects.
- Commitment: 6–10 hours per week (flexible, but requires availability for key event launches).
- Reporting: Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Project Manager.
